"They sell at MSRP but do have a waiting list. Good,
honest dealership with a great service department. I have been dealing with
them for years and will continue to do so." - SS 03/02
"Great buying
experience! On the list for an FXDL for only two weeks and got the call.
Will be here less than one month from my first call to the dealership. The
best part is they're giving it to me for MSRP. Friendly, knowledgeable
staff all-around. I look forward to dealing with them in the future." - TG
02/03 "Though I did not buy my new '03 Heritage Springer from this
dealership, I have taken it there for service and found the owner and staff
to be extremely helpful and courteous. Actually, I would have bought there,
but they just didn't have the particular model I wanted in stock ( they work
off of a waiting list ). Overall, I think they are reasonable and, best of
all, I think they are totally honest." - BF 09/03 |

"Sales staff are very unfriendly, mark up on bikes runs
from 2-3k. Service Dept. above average, too much work for too few good
service personnel. Parts dept. great. Can not recommend purchase of bikes
from Low Country, they don't give market value for trade in." - WB 05/02
"Sales staff has a take it or leave it attitude when it comes to new bike
sales. New bikes are being sold for 3-5k over MSRP. They don't want to give
average trade in value for bikes being traded on new bikes. Don't recommend
purchasing new bike from LOW COUNTRY." - DB 06/02
"I wouldn't buy a bike from Low Country H-D. I don't have 2-4,000 over MSRP
and wouldn't pay it if I did. Poor attitudes also from bike sales folks" -
KB 04/03
"This place stinks! I was in there 3 times looking at new bikes and
couldn't get the time of day. The sales people wouldn't even talk to me
when I told them I was pre-approved and ready to go. I said I wanted a FXST
and he just said "We don't have one." I'm kind of glad they were that way
because I did more research and ended up driving up to Wilmington to get my
new Softail and saved $2K. Since they are close by, I went back in to look
at some add-ons after I got my bike. I was browsing around the parts for 30
minutes and no one in the store ever even said hello until I walked over to
the clothes. What a joke! I hope they realize this soon and hire all new
staff for sales and parts. I plan on making the drive to Harley-Haven in
the mean time. I sure hope the sales dept is better." - BW 07/03
"I have purchased two bikes from Low Country Harley-Davidson. Their sales
people have been very straight forward and honest with me from the start to
the finish of each purchase. The Parts and Service people will bend over
backwards for you and do there very best to do what ever needs to be done to
make you happy. If your looking for a shirt, hat, jacket, or anything along
those lines, you'll have plenty of people helping you out. I've heard some
folks say bad things about Low Country, all these people I've talked to had
bad attitudes before they even went into the Shop. When you treat people
that run a business badly, that's most likely how you will be treated,
that's not rocket science, that's just life." - DF 05/04
"I understand that this dealership has such lucrative business that they
refuse to bargain with anyone, including the police department. The Chas'n
police buy their motorcycles and parts from Beaufort, SC because they save a
bundle of money there. I don't know exactly what their mark-up is, but I
understand it's considerable." - WG 12/05 |

"Got a carb 01 Deuce on the floor at over $19,000 out the door.
Sales tax in SC on a bike is $300. You figure the markup. The
service department is top notch however from actually experience.
They fix it right, fast, and stand behind their work. They
give you a call a week or so after the work and ask how the service was.
If it's not right they fix it fast. If they sold at MSRP they would
be perfect." - DD 3/01
""Wandered into Doug's for their open house in early October. Was
looking at a V-Rod when the Sales Manager asked me if I wanted to trade.
Not for a V-Rod but maybe a RK. He looked in his book and informed me an
unclaimed RK with FI, SEC and cast wheels in Vivid Black was due the end
of the month. Price was $18,650 out the door. MSRP. Asked what they'd
give me on a trade-in. The owner looked and it was fair, not great but
fair. Now I had been thinking of a RK but didn't think I'd find one until
2004. Called back in two weeks and asked if it was still available. It
was and I put down a deposit. Picked it up in early November and it had a
tear in the seat. Waited until it was replaced under warranty to post
this. It was and I am. Excellent purchase in all aspects. Service
department is top notch also." - DD 12/02
"I bought a FXST in 2000 from Doug's. Paid $15,125. I believe MSRP was
only $12,500 in 2000, plus $500 destination. Called today 3/3/03, ready to
buy again. Talked to Marion, He told me about 2003 Nightrain, $17,000.
2003 Fatboy, fuel injected with alarm system for $18,500. Well personally
I think it is a little high. Would rather buy from Harley Haven, but don't
know if they will sell out of their area because of waiting list. " - CG
03/03 "Excellent service department. Service department staff is very
knowledgeable and takes the time to discuss you bike with you. Been there
for modifications and for scheduled maintenance and haven't been
disappointed." - DA 12/04\ |

"I have not purchased a bike form the dealer, but I have purchased
Motorclothes and parts. The Motorclothes and parts Department are great!
They try their hardest to answer any questions and assist the customer.
Customer Service means a lot to me and that is the main reason that I shop
there." - JP 02/01
"I travel over two hours to deal with H-D of Greenville and pass two
dealerships on the way. They have always been fair with me whether trading
bikes or having service done. Their sticker prices are above suggested
retail, but they will give you more than suggested retail for your bike if
you trade it in. I have sent two friends there who ended up buying bikes and
we have all been treated fairly The salesmen there will tell you the truth
about each bike, and they always have plenty of them. I recommend giving
them a try." - ME 3/01
"Was just there 06/01 - only dealer close by who has a large
selection of new bikes on the showroom floor. Salesperson was friendly and
informative. Nice showroom with lots of accessories. Offers 20% discount on
accessories to buyers or has printable coupon on website for same. Went to
look at FatBoys and Heritage Custom ST's. Markup on new 2001 FLSTF and FLSTC
bikes is $5000 over MSRP but salesperson hinted that they would come off
$1000 on some bikes but have not as of yet done any serious negotiation.
Thinking that I might make an offer when the 02's hit the floor if I haven't
bought by then. " - LH 6/01
"A little high on bike prices but the take care of their customers on
service and warranty work. I will buy again (third time)" - BC 03/02
"Bought a new Ultra from them 4-02. They are a little high on the price,
but give you a break on the first service and a discount on acc. Everyone
goes out of their way to make sure that you are taken care of. Has a large
selection of bikes. Also gives a good price on your trade-in. I will
defiantly buy another bike from them!" - MF 05/02
"I own a 1972 XLCH, so when I go to them I am looking for parts. I don’t
really expect that they would have my parts in stock, but I do expect that
they can order them for me. I have had a few situations that they really
couldn’t help (rear brake light switch) and said they would call me back and
never did. I am not sure about their prices, but the people I know say they
are a little high. They do have a good selection of bikes, and if you are
going in there to buy a new or fairly new bike they are your place. They
also love to provide service and parts for new or fairly new bikes, but if
you have an old ironhead like me, they may not be the place for you." - JR
10/02
"I bought my '03 Ultra Classic from these guys and couldn't have been
treated better. Everyone was very helpful and courteous, even from the
first visit, unlike my local dealer in Anderson. I would recommend
them highly! I plan to use them for all my H-D needs, even thought they are
35 miles away vs. 5 miles for the local guy." - MF 02/03
"Bunch of super nice guys, if you have a fat wallet. Almost all Softail
models are $20,900, you might can get it out the door for this price if
you're lucky." - LA 06/03
"When I was first looking for a bike, I talked to them. They seemed
friendly, but their prices were WAY over MSRP. They had their V-rods priced
at 26,500! I asked the owner, why they were so much over MSRP, he claimed
that they couldn't get them from the factory, and they had to buy them from
Other dealers, and from Private Parties that had purchased them elsewhere.
The funny thing was, none of them had over 5 miles on the odometer. After
they held them for over a year with only 1 sale, they finally dropped them
to close to MSRP. Their other Bikes are also way over MSRP, usually by
4-6K. Parts department is great, and has been a real help, prices are
reasonable there." - DC 10/03

"Service department is great. They really work with you on anything
you need done. Parts guys are excellent. Only problem is on
new bikes. General mark up on a big twin is $2-3m over MSRP.
Sales staff has one of the poorest attitudes I have ever seen in a
dealership." - DD 05/02 "I headed to last years fall rally after work, with no planning or
anything. Luckily, my wife followed me in my truck. I stopped about 30
minutes from the beach to get gas and my battery was totally dead. Some
dudes helped me get it on the truck and we went on to the beach. I got up
first thing the next morning and took it down to Myrtle Beach HD South. If
you’ve ever been to this place during the rally, you know what a mess this
is. It is located right on a double lane highway with no turnoffs or
anything, so it makes it hard to do anything around the area. They had a
little horseshoe setup that you could pull in to unload your bike where
previously, you had to do it in the road. Anyway, it was probably 9:00 in
the morning and it was already wall to wall. I finally got to talk to
somebody and left my bike in their little service tent they had set up. I
had to have a battery and a voltage regulator installed. I walked around
the vendors and hung out, it probably took a couple of hours overall. They
were really nice and got me on my way, I’m sure during their craziest time
of the year. They were turning work down at 10 or 11 that day! I don’t
know if they gouged me, I really didn’t care at the time, as long as they
could make time for me. Great service dept!" - BI 12/03 |

"Spartanburg sells at MSRP, but they have a 1 yr.
waiting list for Sportsters, and a 2 year list for BT's. Must put
down $500 deposit. Don't know if it's just for locals or not." - JD

good to find a dealer I can trust, second oldest Harley dealer in the
state." - JW 04/01
"Bought new 2005 HD Screaming Eagle Had cut in seat . would not repair or
replace Lost confidence in dealer. - BA 02/05 |
