PRECISION H-D

"Big time stealers. Most bikes are semi-customized before they sell for which they get big bucks. 5-7 grand over MSRP is not unusual. The catch is you can walk in and buy a bike. No wait. Real good parts dept. Tons of stuff in stock." - JM 2/00

"Definitely a Stealership! Sells way over MSRP and they act like they are doing you a favor by being in business!" - RB 02/01

"One of the very worst "Stealers" in all of New England.  Routinely charges thousands over list and smirks while he's picking your pocket. Owner is consistently trashed by his own employees and former employees.  Not a nice person to buy from or work for apparently.  On the plus side, his parts and accessories inventory is much better than average and he WILL at least allow you to sit on his bikes, which tend to be older stock (lots of leftovers each year) due to the extreme high prices.  My advice: Shop here, buy elsewhere." - DN 01/02

"I have read the negative comments by other potential customers all I want to say is that I have recently started looking around to purchase a H-D.  I went into Precision H-D/Buell and I must say that I was very impressed with the salesmen and his knowledge of their product, he was very patient with me.  They went through my needs and made suggestions on the one that would best fit my needs.  I would highly recommend this dealership to anyone looking for a Harley." - PR 10/02

"I was recently in this dealership and was very happy with the way I was treated.  Being a woman and shopping at other dealerships, I was not treated as a serious potential customer.  Here I was treated with respect and the sales people took the time to help me shop for the best bike for my money." - JJ 11/02

"Arrogant and unprofessional. I went in to see what was involved in ordering a 2003 Road king Classic. I patiently waited to talk to a salesperson. The guy didn't even introduce himself or shake my hand. He gave very little information except telling me with a laughing smirk that you couldn't "just order a Harley" These guys give the good dealers a very bad reputation, stay away. I contacted Precision HD as requested and spoke to the owner. In fact,  he wasn't even aware of this web site until recently and as a business owner, not at all pleased with the negative comments made about his dealership. However, he did do the right thing and apologize as well as take responsibility for his employees, further stating that the type of treatment I received was not at all condoned and ask that I stop by at any time to an get an official apology. I told him that I would send a reply back to stealer-dealer.com/id telling you that he did do the right thing. He asked that I have my comment removed and I replied by saying that was up to stealer-dealer.com/id." - JZ 11/02

OCEAN STATE H-D
Warwick, RI

"According to a well-known biker magazine, readers have sent in letters claiming that this dealer sells bikes at or near MSRP."

"Salesperson was very helpful and explained their policy very clearly.  I put $100 down on a XL883C Custom which will be delivered to me at MSRP. They only take pre-orders and your deposit is refundable.  The wait was about 18 months at the time that I ordered, but that was to be expected." - KH 12/99

"This shop definitely deserves a golden wrench award.  They are currently using a wait list for bikes with a deposit but sources tell me it's being eliminated.  Ocean State sells at true MSRP.  The staff is very helpful and honest.  I have never had any trouble with these guys and recommend them to whom ever I can." KC 3/01

"I purchased my 2000 Ultra from Ocean State.  When I placed my order in May of '98, they were taking deposits with a 1 to 2 year wait.  Now I believe they no longer are taking deposits and are selling as they get their allocations.  The Owner is a super guy, and I had a great experience with both the Sales and Service Depts. Unless they have changed in the past year, they sell bikes at MSRP." - JC 6/01

"The good news is that Ocean State H-D is apparently an MSRP dealership.  The bad news comes when you actually try to buy one.  Having done away with the waiting list approach, you'll find out that you need to be (or know) an inside player or just forget about it.  You could luck out and happen upon a sudden cancellation, but getting any model or color that's "in demand" is close to impossible. On the plus side, and I say this despite several unfortunate problems I have had with them personally, they do have an outstanding reputation among the Rhode Island biker community.  The owner is held in very high regard by everyone I've talked to who knows him." - DN 01/02

"My search for a FXST-I has not been a nice experience with Ocean State Harley. Yes the are an MSRP dealer but when you try to get a bike from them or ask about one it seems that you get the run around. I had to put my contact info on a 3x5 card with what bike I was interested in. I asked sales person about their allocations and they told me that they didn't know what bikes were coming in.( Anything coming is already sold.)  Then if the bike your interested is coming in "We will call you, but we also call everyone else interested in the same bike and the first person down there with $1000 gets to make the deposit on it." I asked about FXST-I and was told that they don't get any of those. I have seen several there since on the floor already sold." - MH 07/02

"I visited Ocean State H-D while on a recent business trip. The staff was friendly and helpful and the dealership sells new Harley's at MSRP." - RO 10/02

"Great bunch of people to deal with ,from the greeter to parts everyone is helpful, knowledgeable and pleasant to deal with, I have purchased and still do purchase parts, clothing, etc. While they do sell at MSRP, you will have an extensive waiting period.... so order early." - RT 11/02

"I just took delivery of a 2003 Road King Classic. I paid MSRP and freight, that's it. The dealer didn't charge set-up and didn't try to sell me anything that I didn't want. Everyone I dealt with was pleasant and knowledgeable. Also, they do the 1000 mile check and fluid changes free of charge. I cannot say enough about Ocean State HD, particularly when compared with other dealers in the area. The down side; be prepared to wait. I waited 9 months and I'm told the wait used to be 1 1/2 years." - JZ 05/03
