"Had trouble on the road this year. Stopped in
on a Saturday morning without an appointment or advanced notice.
They took my bike right in, diagnosed the problem and executed repairs
(replaced stator and voltage regulator) in a couple of hours. Also,
they gave me and my friend a ride to a nearby restaurant so we could have
breakfast while we waited. All in all, good service, polite service staff,
and satisfactory work." - MH 8/99
"Lake Tahoe H-D is a retail outlet for Carson-Tahoe H-D. We sell
our bikes a FCFS. We also off various service and performance
specials and free pickup and delivery. We will work on any model and year
of H-D. Our dealership is also equipped with a Dynojet 200. We have a
great selection of parts and motorclothes and we offer a 5-10% rebate for
various local programs ( HOG, New Bike Buyer, Capital Care.) Capital Care
is a prepaid maintenance program offered exclusively at C-T H-D." -

"Broke down in Tahoe one weekend. Because we were from out of
town, the service department sent a truck and trailer from Carson City to
pick up my bike, me and my wife and then fixed the bike on the spot.
Because it was warranty, it didn't cost me a cent. Not even the 60 mile
round trip to come and get my bike!!" - MC 8/01
"When I drove from NJ to NV and back last March (04) I called and made an
appointment at the CC H-D shop, which happened to be a block or so from
the Hotel I was at. A 10K service to change the oil, give it a look over,
etc., replace the headlight bezel (it caught a stone) and I told them of a
squeak it was making in the rear end. Got there before opening hours and
chit-n-chatted with the friendly crew. Then I got a call about three hours
later and told me it was all done AND found and fixed a "recall problem"
that my bike had unbeknownst to me, regarding the wiring in the front
fender. No headlight bezel in stock, but they did silicone the hole up. I
was happy as a clam with the service and speed. Large shop, as it used to
be a large supermarket. A Safeway if I recall. Everything was fine, and I
rode home happy." - KF 12/04"I made a cross country trip from PA
to CA, up the coast and back. I needed to get a rear tire, so I called
around and Carson City quoted me a price that was 40 to 50 bucks lower
than anyone else. They said, just come on in when you get here. I pulled
up and they put me in right away. Two hours later I was ready to go. They
even washed my bike and checked brakes and fluids at no additional costs
and didn't try to add anything. They were fantastic, highly recommended."

LAS VEGAS H-D

"Great looking dealership, but lots of
"forced" add-ons and bikes selling at three to five thousand
dollars over MSRP. Dealers were knowledgeable and they did have
bikes in stock, but a 2000 model FXST base bike, was going out the door
for $17,730, a long way from the MSRP of $12,355. I had to go out of
state to find a dealer that would sell at MSRP, had to wait about 2 months
for delivery, then had it shipped to Las Vegas. This dealer has 5
locations around Las Vegas (I went to all of them), all charging the same
markups, with the other locations only having a few bikes on the floor."
- HM 11/99 "Beware! Had terrible experiences in all departments! Horrendous
service after the sale by salesman. Service department is mediocre on a
good day. Parts dept. does you a huge favor providing overpriced
parts, accessories and $35 T-shirts. HOG Chapter is a Joke. They'll never
see me there again." - GD 5/01
"I wish there was something nice I could say about this place. My
brand-new tach blows out enroute to Vegas. I take it in the next day and
asked about having a diagnosis of the problem, and if they could have it
done with a 24-hour turnaround. I purchased a set of highway pegs and ask
that they be taken care of as well. The next day , I'm informed "Sorry, we
couldn't get to your bike today, but it's next in line and will be ready
tomorrow morning." The promised morning and day pass without word.
Finally, on the day after *that*, I call them, and am told they haven't
even started on it. I inform them that if they don't have it ready within
2 hours, I'm pulling it out of the shop. Within 40 minutes, they've
called to inform me it's done. I pick up the bike. After paying $50, I'm
given a piece of paper saying the tach doesn't work -- nothing substantial
as to what is causing the problem. They also claim they tightened the
pegs and didn't charge me for it. So on the 18th, I'm cruising to work and
one of the pegs falls off. Another $50 down the drain, and thankfully my
feet didn't go with them. Apparently tightening the pegs doesn't mean all
the bolts holding them on, nor loctite. So I paid $100 for poor
workmanship and a say-nothing report they spent less than an hour on, and
delivered 3 days late." - KF 01/02
"Recently stopped by dealership twice while visiting Vegas. Huge
showroom with excellent selection of bikes (many bikes actually had 2 or
even 3 different colors of same bike on display). Also had some custom
bikes on display. Sales staff seemed adequately friendly. While their was
a fairly good selection of motorclothes and collectibles, staff not
personable. Was less-than-impressed with parts/accessories selection given
size of store, but staff were friendly enough. Service dept is arranged
for observation of work. Has coffee area, kiddie motorcycle rides (just
insert 50 cents), store fits Vegas well. I'm glad they're not my local
dealer. Been there, seen that, probably wouldn't go back." - KA 05/02
"Unfortunately, this is my hometown dealer! There is much to be desired
in the pricing of bikes, merchandise, and service. Not to mention, if you
get the right service tech you might get your bike fixed right. Notice I
didn't say the first time. I am currently looking out of town for a dealer
to sell me a new bike for a reasonable price. If you don't know the owner,
then you don't get a good price. I know Las Vegas is a good ole boy town,
but this is ridiculous." - AB 07/02
"I was recently on vacation, we decided to take the free shuttle to the
HD Dealer just to look around. The place is huge, lots of bikes, new and
used, to choose from. Big clothing dept. and quite a few accessories as
well. After looking around my wife and I decided it would be really cool
to buy my first Harley, for my 30th bday, in Las Vegas and have it shipped
home. They had a demo low rider w/ 500 miles on it that I fell in love
with and it was even priced very low compared to buying back home in
Illinois and waiting 6 months. We talked it over and when we finally
decided I went to get the salesman, told him we were ready to do the deal,
and he proceeds to sit down in their little "cafe" area and have his
lunch. We were both upset and left, only to come back a few hours later.
We finally got all the paper work signed and he said the bike would ship
Friday morning, this was Thursday afternoon, and it would take a week to
get it back to Illinois. We thought this was great and left thinking we'd
have it a few days after we got home. Well it didn't ship that Friday. Not
until the following Friday actually. Not that we even got a phone call
saying so, we had to call and check up on it. Thinking I am going to have
to wait another whole week, it shows up Monday afternoon. What a wonderful
surprise, right? Wrong again. After receiving the bike, we went to get
plates ordered and found out that we didn't have the certificate of
origin. Called the dealership, salesman said that doesn't get mailed out
till the bike has been received by the customer. He said he'd send it out
that day, should take 2 or 3 days. Well, those days came and went, nothing
in the mail. Called the dealer, salesman wasn't in, but some head guy in
accounting could help. He tells us that takes a couple of weeks to process
and I should see it in another week. By this time I almost didn't even
want the thing any more. Imagine having your first Harley in the garage
and all you can do is look at it! I would never ever buy a bike from this
place again, I doubt I'd even go back just too look around. And by the
way, the worlds biggest H-D dealership actually means just that, biggest
in square footage." - SH 09/02
"Have had nothing but trouble with LVHD (main store on Eastern Ave).
This is the last straw. I have a 1999 FXDWG. The cam bearing failed at
about 26k. Took it to the dealer, where they checked it out and agreed it
was the cam bearing. They ordered the repair kit (took a week), called me
a few days after that to say it's ready. I rode it for 150 miles then
changed the oil. There were pieces of metal, not shavings, caught on the
drain plug. Looked like they didn't even drop the pan. Took the filter off
and found several pieces of metal in the oil that escaped from it. Didn't
cut the filter in half but I still have it and can. Called the dealer and
talked to service manager. He said bring it in they would drop the pan and
have a look. They called me the next day to say it was ready. Everything
looked fine. I know better. Called MoCo next day. They blew me off. I
spent 3 years riding this bike worried the cam would fail and strand me.
Now I have to spend another year and a half worried a piece of metal might
do more damage. Year and half it will be paid for. $36 thousand dollars
for a piece of crap HD. Never again!!! My wife wants a Sportster. We will
be going out of state for that. My next bike will be an Indian, if they
survive." - RP 10/02
"I bought a new Superglide IN Jan 05. Got conned into buying the vip
program. Free pickup and delivery for service 10 percent off parts. Took
it in for first service and had them do stage one air cleaner rejet. Cost
me 450 bucks. Got the bike home discovered they had chipped the clear coat
on my tank above carb. Clutch cable holder on frame was broke had ask them
to fix it and they had put a zip tie on it. On next scheduled service I
called their other store on Tropicana. They lie to me said they couldn't
pick my bike up and would not honor the vip program. I didn't want to take
it back to the eastern and Sahara store. I ended up calling them and they
picked it up. I complained about the chip in the tank and the zip tie so
they fixed both. Bought chrome battery cover and coil cover wouldn't honor
vip card. Had to pay top price. Bought windshield today got home no
hardware just 4 clamps and windshield. Called shop talked to manager of
parts said he would ship missing parts and instructions or I had to come
get them. I live a hour and a half away ,ask if I would be reimbursed gas
he said no. Price on bike on floor was 13,080. Ended up being over 15,000
by the time all the tack on stuff they add to it. They love to see you
coming treat you like a king sell you the bike and then your history you
gotta push to get what you need . I got my ten percent discount on my
windshield today. No more Las Vegas Hd for me. I was warned buy many
should have listened." - DP 10/05
