CHICK'S H-D
Albuquerque, NM

"According to a well-known biker magazine, readers have sent in letters claiming that this dealer sells bikes at or near MSRP."

"The local dealer Chicks is a great store but long long waits (2 yrs)  and still higher than MSRP." - BL 8/99

"Chick's sells at MSRP plus a minimal set-up/freight fee. The wait on Big Twins is approx. 24 months and Sportsters can be had in as little as 2 weeks or the wait can be as long as 6 months." - Chick's H-D 10/99

"I had made comments on NM dealers in 8/99. Since then Chicks has stopped taking a list. They have a good inventory, not all models available right away yet but doing better, and prices are near lowest I've seen anywhere on web or off." - BL 1/00

"I just have to voice my discontent with Chick's H-D "RIP-OFF" stealership.  I got called by the salesman on 05/10/01 that an FLHT had become available and was asked if I would like to place a 500.00 refundable deposit to hold the bike and I agreed.  I went down there on 05/12/01 ready to buy the bike with a check in hand but the only problem was that I was NOT going to pay the full 16,800.00 for a plain jane stock bike that MSRP's for 13,595.00, so I attempted to bargain with the salesman (who was no help at all) and only asked for 500.00 dollars off the price and was told NO!  I just cant believe that a dealership that already makes a TON of money at MSRP wanted to rip me off to the tune of 3,205.00 over MSRP.  Oh well I just got my deposit back and left because I had nothing to loose by doing so.  I just hope that the market falls out from underneath them so that way when a person goes into the dealership they will be kissing our ass's to buy their bikes and we can control the show however we want.  I am just disappointed in Chick for being so greedy and I had heard that he was a fair guy but I guess not and as far as their sales team (if they are a team) they need to stop being pricks." - LM 5/01

"Welcomed us with open arms on our cross country trip and made us feel right at home.  We would be happy to visit them again." - DV 7/01

"I had a super experience with Chick's in Albuquerque on Saturday, July 13, 2002. I had just bought a Sportster from an individual in town, and it did not have the pillion yet. Knowing my daughter would never forgive me for not taking her back to Alamogordo on the bike, we went to Chick's. They had the seat and passenger pegs for MSRP, and since the service department was full, they lent me the tools to install the seat. I would definitely buy from them again." - DP 07/02

"I had a very good experience with Chick's in late 2004.  The bike was fairly priced, and included a $500 shopping spree on accessories.  They bought back the stock tires at 75% of cost and let me buy my new tires on-line.  The sales transaction and delivery was painless.  I would recommend Chick's." - PV 02/05

HIGH PLAINS H-D
Clovis, NM
"I have stopped in here quite a few times on my way to Texas.  New Store, easy to get to.  All the sales people have always been friendly, courteous and helpful.  Never bought a bike from them. Oil, clothes, jets, needles, parts, small stuff etc. I would consider buying a bike there due to the above." - RJ 01/04
FOUR CORNERS H-D
Farmington, NM

BARNETT H-D
Las Cruces, NM

"I first tried Barnett HD by e-mail.  Their prices are about 6 - 7,000.00 over MSRP.  Since I live in Las Cruces I tried going in to the Las Cruces dealership to see if I could negotiate the price down.  Both times I went there I was ignored.  Nobody bothered to ask me if I needed help.  After browsing for 20 minutes with no help I left.  Most likely they wouldn't negotiate anyway.  I am going elsewhere for a new FXDWG." - SZ 10/01

"I purchased a 2003 Sportster XLH1200 from them at above MSRP but good for the area and a popular bike. They were both friendly and helpful, they even stored my bike until I could pick it up for a month. I took my Riders Edge (MSF Basic course) through them as well, and got to know most everyone there. If in the area check out the Las Cruces store, it is smaller than the El Paso, Barnett's store (49 miles away), but friendlier." - WS 06/03

CHAMPION H-D
Roswell, NM

"I bought a 2000 ultra classic from Champion H-D. Got it for 2k over MSRP and got it with no wait. They were very friendly and a great small dealership. They had an amazing number of bikes on the floor some sold and some for sale. Winter is definitely the time to buy, If you wait till spring you are going to pay for it. Talk to Dorsey, he will fix you up if possible." - BB 1/00

"I bought a 2000 FXSTS through the Overseas Military Sales program. I called Pete Gilbert from my base in Okinawa, and everything was perfectly arranged to pick up the bike in January. (Except the weather...it was 17 degrees Fahrenheit and a 2.5 hour ride back to Alamogordo, but that's another story!) The staff at Champion are exceptionally friendly, and it was awesome to be back in the States (and the Harley family) after 7 years overseas. Champion didn't get much in the way of profit from this sale, but still took incredible care of me and my bike. The service manager Toby is good to his word on all maintenance performed, and Champion is a real "working" motorcycle dealership. They put in a Screamin' Eagle carb and pipes, new handlebars, all at the first dealer service. I got a loaner truck to use while they worked on my bike, and I met another FXR2 rider from El Paso that drove the 3 hours to Roswell, NM rather than let Barnett's touch his bike. They've got a very down-to-earth way of doing business and treat you like family, which all Harley riders are.  Definitely NOT a "Gucci," panty-selling, "Motorclothes Boutique," which seems to e the marketing direction HD is forcing on their dealerships !! All the staff at Champion generally seem to LIKE working there. I'm going back this week for the 2500 mile service, and some more mod's to my ride!" - SN 4/00

"Called the dealer inquiring about a Super Glide.   The sales man mentioned he had some on the floor, and I said I would order to get what I wanted.  I then asked what they were selling them for, he said $15,899.  Which is more than 3k over MSRP.  He could tell I was disappointed, and asked what he could do to earn my business.  I told him MSRP.  He said they were not an MSRP dealer, and never would be.  I would not recommend this dealer." - RV 10/01

"I loved buying my Sporty from Champion in Roswell! they have a decent selection, and not since Disneyland have I seen such a friendly, helpful group of people at work! I had been in there browsing before Christmas of last year, not doing any serious shopping at the time, just looking around while in town for the day. Three months later I was back, this time to buy, and they actually remembered me! Since I live three hours away, most of my sale was done by e-mail, phone and fax. The salesman even took pictures of the bike I was interested in and e-mailed them to me so I could see how it looked. I was very happy with my purchase and still am, six months and 6,000 miles later. I got my Sporty for MSRP because it was a 2003 model and I bought it in spring of 2004. This is the only dealer within hundreds of miles of me that sells at or near MSRP. The dealer in my town, Barnett in El Paso, wanted $8,600 for the very same bike -- a markup of over 40%!" - CM 09/04

"Attended the State HOG Rally in 2004.  About an hour before closing time Saturday evening (I'm leaving the next morning) my check engine light comes on.  They check it out and give it a clean bill of health.  No charge, and I'm on my way the next day.  Three months later, still running great!  No hassle, and honest." - DH 12/04

SANTA FE H-D
Santa Fe, NM

"I was at Santa Fe HD this weekend. They quoted me prices that were 15% over MSRP plus a wait of about 3-4 months. This is for a two tone dyna conv w/cast whls. I talked to an Easyriders rep that was quoting 1600-2000 over and less than a month wait." - BL 8/99

"I had a great experience with this dealership.  I was riding through town and they presumably knew they'd never see me again, but they cheerfully  let me borrow a small wrench to fix a problem, then when I offered to buy the wrench they said it wasn't really for sale - just take it!  They were cheerful and helpful.  I'd go back in a heartbeat." - CP 9/01
