"A Definite "DEALER," I purchased two
bikes from them over the years and always at MSRP. They are always there
for me whenever I need parts or service. Their staff is both
friendly and knowledgeable. They represent what all dealerships should
be!" - DV 12/99 "Top notch dealership from A to Z. Staff is friendly, and technically
knowledgeable. All repairs and upgrades performed on time, and done right
the first time. Prices for work very reasonable, highly recommend to
anyone." - MM 6/01
"Seem like a very honest dealership. I asked them if they sell out of
state and was told no (unfortunate for me since I live in GA) but asked
what they sell bikes for. The salesman said they charge MSRP and that they
include a 5 year extended warranty, HD factory Security system, setup and
freight. They had a 2002 FLHRCI 2 Tone on the floor for $19259 which
equates to about a $325 setup fee. Even though I obviously wasn't able to
buy a bike from them, the salesman still took his time to answer all the
questions I had about that bike and let me pick his brain about what he
knew about how the '03s were going to be sold. BTW, the reason I was told
for not selling out of state was to foster a local customer and get their
service and parts & accessories business hence selling the bike for MSRP.
If I still lived in NJ I would wholeheartedly recommend this dealership."
- MC 05/02
"I went to Atlantic County H-D after having a bad time with some of the
local dealers in the Cherry Hill, NJ area. I was looking to purchase a
Black 2003 Sportster Custom. Both dealers in my area were quoting $1,000
over MSRP for this bike. One of them told me I could “probably” get one by
April if I bought it now. The other dealer did not even give me a call
back after speaking to one of the salespeople. At this point I gave A.C.
H-D a call and was quickly put on the phone with one of their great
salesmen who took the time over the phone to answer all my questions,
joked about some of my experiences, and informed me of their pricing
upfront, which was selling bikes at MSRP with no added garbage. I went
down that weekend to find the exact bike I was looking for, coming in
before the end of the month! 3 weeks later, the bike was in, just as
promised. The dealer made sure to call me through the process to update me
on what was going on, and the entire staff was friendly and helpful,
treating their customers with respect." - DF 09/02
"Was forced to make a stop at Atlantic County Harley for repairs on my
way to the NJ State Rally...Although the service department was getting
hit pretty hard that day, the entire staff remained friendly and calm ...I
was pleasantly surprised to be back on the road in about two hours...Very
nice store with some antiques and collectibles upstairs and good
conversation...They also rent bikes...A pleasure to deal with and highly
recommended." - RV 09/02

"They seem very nice. Not a huge shop, but they treated me
well each time I went there (and I don't know anyone there) so it was nice
to see how well they treat strangers." - EP 1/00
"gets $3,000.00 over MSRP." - BG 1/00
"I bought my 2000 Heritage Classic from H-D of Essex.
I am from Georgia. Cost me $2,000 over MSRP which is less than
market value. E-mailed 300 dealers across the U.S. and this fine
dealership was one of only four that had a bike to sell at a reasonable
price and that would sell out of state. They treated me right in
every way. See George." - SA 3/00
"My friend & I went to this greedy shop where they had the bikes
we liked & promised us they could deliver when we wanted them. The
catch was Big Twins' were $2000 over list & Sportsters were $1000 over
list. We were told (by the salesman) that's not bad considering they throw
in prep & assembly. We then took our business elseware! I am now the
proud owner of a 2001 Electraglide classic." - NC 5/01

MILLS H-D
Burlington, NJ
|
"I just picked up my Sportster form Mills.
What a great bunch of guys. Delivered exactly as promised, no markup.
15% off accessories purchased during the next 60 days. Highly
recommended." - BC 1/00 "I am very pleased with all at Mills H-D. Even though
this was my first Harley, AND it is just a "Sporty", all of the salesmen,
owner, parts and accessories people I dealt with treated me very good and
like I was SOMEBODY (even though they knew I just got rid of my "sport
bike") and like I was a part of the "Harley family". I got my shiny new
XL883 a few weeks ago for only $180 above MSRP, and a very nice discount on
all parts and accessories, No B.S., No price gouging. An outstanding deal,
considering I was quoted $4,000 above MSRP at "Mike's Famous" in Delaware.
(Yikes!) Very courteous and knowledgeable staff; a VERY satisfying
experience overall. Hey, Mills, you guys (and gals) ROCK. I'll send all my
friends there. Keep up the good work." - RF 03/02
"Mills HD has
treated my Girlfriend and her 2001 Sporty 883 ok. She even ordered it from
there. I must say everyone was nice to her EXCEPT the owner. The mechanics
went out of their way for her to resolve a blinker malfunction until the
"boss" thought they must have been doing something he shouldn't have and had
the mechanic "unfix" what he did. I have been going there for parts and
insurance since picking up my Sporty a little over a month ago. Everyone has
been GREAT to me. First getting my Insurance, in and out real fast, for
Insurance even! The Parts dept. even though I have no clue what you call
half the parts he is still very patient and works with me. (Especially with
my primary gasket). All in all I would suggest Mills. Just stay away from
the Boss." - BD 07/02 "Mills DOES NOT sell at MSRP. I called on two
occasions in July 02 and just today 8/8/02. I'm looking for an 03 Road King
Classic Gunmetal - MSRP 17,760 - they sell 2,000 over. The sales people were
not friendly - I wanted to know how long the list is was told 3-6 months. I
said I would like to take delivery after the winter "like April". He wanted
me on the list now - said "you must take them as they come in" Not me! Would
never buy there! Both times I called they had a pure sales attitude." - BP
08/02 "This has been the absolute best purchasing experience I
have ever had, bar none. In Oct 2003 after I was driven away by another
dealer only a short drive up the road I stopped in Mill's and was greeted by
a friendly sales staff. The salesman was more than happy to sit down and
give me out the door prices for a bike for me ('04 FXST) and one for my
Father ('04 XL1200C). The salesman went over everything and the deal was
done, 2 bikes out the door. Since the initial purchase, every time I stop in
I am greeted by the staff who all greet me by name, now that's a great
feeling at a dealership. They make you feel at home and are very glad to
have you as part of the Mill's Harley Family, they go out of your way to
keep it that way. I will never buy another Harley from anywhere else." - PB
06/04 "Sales - Bought my 96 FXSTC new (MSRP which was unheard of back
then!) there & they even helped me sell my Sportster on their showroom
floor! Recommend HIGHLY. Service - Had one unpleasant experience. Bought
some new pipes there and found hammer marks on a bracket brace. Luckily the
lead service tech admitted the problem & corrected immediately. Still go
back there." - PP 02/05 |

LEGENDS H-D
Clifton, NJ
|
"A little pricey, but the people there were respectful and
helpful, which counts for a lot in my book." - CC 4/01
"After shopping about 15 dealers in NY, PA, and northern NJ for my '02
FXDL this past winter, I ended up at Legends. They had one on the floor
tagged at MSRP plus $225 setup and NJ sales tax. After reading about
mega-buck mark-ups, snotty sales people and other horror stories at some
dealers in NJ and throughout the country I am more than satisfied with
Legends. Mine was a truly painless sales experience. About two weeks
after taking delivery, the battery died. They came over within two days,
trailered my bike back to the shop and replaced the defective battery.
About a week later I got a follow up call from the Svc Mgr making sure
everything was ok. Legends is a small shop in a low traffic location. They
are about to move to bigger quarters. I hope they keep their commendable
customer focus and small store mentality." - HS 04/02
"After a day of searching throughout the NJ and NY dealer landscape, I
happened upon this little gem. The sales force were very friendly, open,
and a real pleasure to speak with. Bike was MSRP, as I had hoped. I
often find that many of the best things and places in life often are not
much to look at, and Legends may not be pretty, but it is a great place.
I would also have to say that their service dept. is top notch - I love
the First-come First-Serve Saturdays!" - IB 07/02 "This is the ONLY H-D dealer I will deal with in No. Jersey, knowledgeable
and helpful, w/ a tow service within a 25 mile radius. I usually wrench on
my own, and this past summer I had a problem that I couldn't figure out.
The head of the service dept. spent at least an hour discussing my problem
and I didn't purchase my scoot at their dealership, or spend a ton of cash
either. I highly recommend this place and I will be saddened when they
move to Mt Olive" - PW 01/04

SALEM COUNTY H-D
Elmer, NJ
|
"I bought my Harley at Salem County H-D. The owner
showed me the list of bikes he had coming. When he received a build date
from HD, he took a deposit. The price was about $1700 over list. Price*
included* dest. and setup, labor on 1000mi.and 2500mi. service, labor on
any parts added during these services. The owner said he was trying to fit
that niche between the $3000 over dealers, and the MSRP list takers.
Overall, I've been pleased with this dealer." - RH 2/00 "I would recommend Salem County to anyone with highest
regards to the owner. I just purchased a 2003 FXDWG and within a week the
rear motor mount went bad. I rode it there not knowing the severity, and
hoping it would be able to be fixed. Once it was determined that the bike
had to stay, the owner drove my daughter and I home - 30 miles at 9:00 PM on
a Friday night. Once it was fixed, my schedule was full and I was having a
hard time finding a time to pick the bike up. He opened up at 8:00 PM on a
Wednesday night (normally closes at 5PM) so I could get my bike. Where do
you find service like this these days? Owner has been there something like
28 years, and once you talk to him you understand he loves what he does -
not just in it for the buck! " - JF 10/02 |
TRENTON H-D
Hamilton, NJ
|
"Charges $500 over MSRP, Service department is
outstanding, any complaint I had was corrected without question. Several
friends have had the same experience with them." - RC 4/00 "I bought a new 2003 Buell XB9r in Sept. of 2003. The
salesman was great throughout the entire deal from my first initial contact
until the delivery day. Unfortunately once I left on my new bike, the
friendly service stopped. I returned to the dealer a week later to buy some
accessories and my salesman couldn't be bothered to even say hello, after I
said hello first. Then a week later I went back to get an out-the-door price
for a 2004 H-D Sportster for my father, and after waiting over 35 minutes
for the salesman to get done having a conversation with a friend on the
sales floor, he gave me an answer of "About 13". I clarified that I wanted
an out the door price and was given attitude and the same answer, but with a
more forceful tone. I was sure to steer my father to another dealer right
down the road that actually wanted the business and was more than helpful
and friendly. I refuse to go back to Trenton H-D, because once they have
your money, they don't care about anything else." - PB 06/04 "After
shopping around on the web and calling various dealers including Bartels, I
chose this dealer since they had the bike I wanted ('05 VRSCSE) in the color
I wanted in stock. In fact, they had two VRSCSE's in stock! The sales
person was a professional in dealing with me and the Finance and Insurance
Manager was very friendly and helpful with in discussing my insurance needs
& payment options. The sales person introduced me to all the essential
personnel (Service Manager etc.) in the shop, showing me around the service
area (they have a nice Dyno room). All in all, excellent shop so far and I
would recommend it." - CB 07/05 |

H-D OF EDISON
Highland Park, NJ
|
"I bought my bike last month at MSRP plus $500 for freight and
prep." - FL 9/99
"This is a boutique style dealership, prices are a little high,
but the sales people will go WAY out of their way for you. It's what
customer service SHOULD be. FWIW, I think you need at LEAST 2
piercings and tattoo to work there! 8>)" - EP 1/00
"We sell for list/ we take $1,000 deposits once we get the list
from HD of what is coming in for the next phase (there are 4 phases per
year)/ we do not add any accessories on the bike unless you specify/ we
can do the finance, insurance, gap protection, you name it.../ we can even
work all the acc. & clothing into your finance. Yes, we are set
up like a boutique but that's because we try to keep a neat and organized
showroom/ as far as being a little pricey, blame H-D... we sell everything
in the store @ MSRP (check the catalogs). We do everything you need!
we even have an in house race dept (complete with a dyno set up) We
offer discounts (10%) to our LOCAL HOG chapter members... we now have a
"customer loyalty program"... basically for every $500 someone
spends, we mail them a $50 gift certificate for use anywhere in the shop
[stop in for details]" - H-D of Edison 2/00
"I have gone there on three different occasions to buy a new Road
King with cash. The first visit I asked a salesman for help and he said he
would get someone. Then he proceeded to shoot the breeze with another
customer he knew. We were the only two customers in the showroom and
nobody ever came to help me, so I walked. Second visit I stood
in a doorway while several salesmen talked. I finally got the
attention of one of them who gave me a price of a Road King that just came
in, he never got up from behind his desk and continued the conversation
with the other salesmen, I walked again. The third visit I was actually
approached by a salesman, they had two RKs outside that just arrived, I
told him I had cash and if both were taken, he said he'd go inside and
check after he didn't come back I went looking for him, he was inside
helping another customer. Three strikes there're out." - PA 3/01
"Edison H-D has been nothing but wonderful to me! They have bent over
backwards to help me with purchasing my new bike. I was shocked when I saw
the negative posting about them. Everyone from Motorclothes, Parts,
Service, AND Sales have been very accommodating and ALWAYS available for
immediate assistance. Also, I was shocked to see such a great write up
about Williams...they are selling their motorcycles WAY above list and the
entire staff is rude and acts superior to their customers (with the
exception of maybe TWO employees). I called when I was ready to
purchase my next bike and NO one returned my call. I am SO glad I went to
Edison because not only did they treat me great, I got my 2002 motorcycle
AT LIST! Incidentally, Williams is selling the same bike for $2,000 more!"
- DK 11/01
"They were very fair to me. They did charge a little over the actual
cost of the bike, about $300 (extra prep fees) for my FXD. To me it was
worth the 300. My FXD was delivered on time and everything was fine with
it." - JH 07/02
"Very nice people - called me Sir... very nice to speak to BUT - way
over MSRP got a quote on an 03 Road King Classic coming in, in a few weeks
ready to buy, I can have it. Cost of bike/prep/freight = $21,405.00 I
don't think so !!!! This is "about" $3,000.00 over MSRP since freight is
$240.00 setup maybe $240.00 = $60.00 hr x 4 or 5 hours ??? My math would
bring me to the high $18,000.00 since MSRP is $17.640.00" - BP 08/02
"I recently went shopping for a new Road King Classic. I had
heard that some people were getting deals at MSRP. Kind of silly to say
"deal" at MSRP , but over the past 10 years , the prices have been insane.
I went to my local dealer in Staten Island NY (Lombardi's). They wanted
$20,000 without tax. That's about 2500 over list. I was feeling as though
this MSRP was going to be a pipe dream. Some fellows at the Harley Tech
Talk site (MSN) , said to try Liberty and Edison (of New Jersey). I went
to Liberty first. They didn't have a Road King available till March '03
(this was December '02),but were willing to sell for MSRP!....Well , I
thought , at least I'll get one for MSRP. I then went to Edison HD. I met
with a friendly kid named Ryan. He told me he could sell me any one of 4
Road Kings they had in stock. I took the black because it was the
cheapest. He sold it to me for MSRP plus tax and prep. No shipping charge.
It came with an alarm also. Out the door for $19,000..Wow...When I
complained about too much mileage on the odometer(11 miles), he threw in a
$250 gift certificate. What can I say ....This place was the best HD
dealership I have bought from. And this is my 5th HD!.......HD of Edison
gets the big thumbs up. In the future I intend to test their service dept.
If that passes the test , I think my attitude toward dealers may actually
change." - GH 01/03
"After being turned off by my original HD stealer, Williams HD, I
called Edison, told the salesman what I was looking for and within an hour
I had a deposit and order confirmation form for a 2003 FXD. MSRP +$600
freight and prep, + taxes and I am now impatiently waiting for my bike to
come in. I have never been treated so professionally by any HD dealer in
the NYC-NJ area. I have found my dealer. Before you buy anywhere else,
give EDISON HD a call and see what I'm talking about." - RM 03/03
"Great people - parts, clothing, sales... good sales, nice parties.
Just ordered an 03 FLHRCI at MSRP. I purchased two other bikes there in
the past. They do not push parts on you when the bike comes in. Would
strongly recommend." - BP 05/03
"After having a bad experience at Ocean County HD, I
went in search of a new dealership from which to purchase my bike. The
salesman at HD of Edison conducted himself professionally, was extremely
knowledgeable and very helpful. We sat and chatted a bit, and he helped me
pick out some accessories. Compared to what I'd been through at Ocean
County HD, this sales experience was like a breath of fresh air! I can't
wait 'til July when my new sporty arrives! This shop is kind of far from
my house, but it's worth the ride. The shop also holds informative rider
Q&A - maintenance & repair sessions, and they throw a great open house
party, too!" - PW 05/03
"On July 15, 2003, I was stopped at a red light, while riding my 2003
FLSTF which was 2 months old with 9,500 miles on it. While waiting for red
light to change, I was standing, when an 81 year old man rear ended me. He
was insured by Allstate. Two hours later, after borrowing a trailer from a
buddy, I had the Fatboy at H-D of Edison. The fender was mangled and the
frame was bent as well as other needed repairs, it was going to be an
expensive repair. I explained to the Service Mgr. that I needed the
estimate fast, because I had to get the other motorist's insurance to
pay for my repairs. He assured me it would be done within a couple of
days.... Well he lied. A week and 1/2 later the Allstate adjuster was
their but they never bothered to do estimate. I went to the dealer when I
heard this and after ignoring me and finally talking to me, they assured
me that it would be ready for adjuster the next day. After the adjuster
got the estimate, I went there and pulled the bike out. The snotty little
Mgr, after learning I was taking from them, in a snotty way "What's the
problem?" Even though I was ready to kill them, I just said " you set me
back 2 weeks during limited prime time riding season, I'll get it repaired
elsewhere." - MO 08/03
"The folks at Harley Of Edison have treated me just fine. I live in
Central NY and travel to their area on business. It seems that they always
have the parts I'm looking for. Not only that they treat me with respect
and courtesy. I would even consider the 200 plus mile drive if I were to
purchase a new bike." - DD 03/04
"Purchased a new FLHRCI in March '04 at MSRP. Salesman was great - no
double talk, no attitude and no pressure. Entire transaction went
smoothly. The weather was bad on delivery day, so they delivered the bike
to my house (15 mi away) in their enclosed box truck at NO ADDITIONAL
CHARGE. I have since dealt with parts & service on several occasions and
everyone is extremely courteous and professional. I know this all may
sound too positive, but I honestly can't think of anything negative to
say." - AP 07/04

TRAMONTIN H-D
Hope, NJ
|
"Has standard policy of $2000 over MSRP. Even though
they are close to home, I ordered a new bike at another dealership."
- BL 10/99 "This hog shop sucks. My friend & I went there
to buy two 2000 Electraglide standards. We were told buy the salesman that
they sold for list price. We were thrilled and ready to start cutting
checks, but his numbers seemed to be off. We pressured him for an
answer. After an hour of our lives was lost, he stated ;"We sell for
list plus $2,000." Now a year later they are $4,000 over. No
Thanks!" - NC 5/01
"I went in that place with my Father, Brother
and my Brother's Father-in-law. We were all prepared to buy bikes. Some
bikes had signs that said not to sit on them because they were sold. After
waiting and waiting in the quiet showroom, my brother sat on a bike that had
no sign. "Hey, get off that bike" was their idea of customer service. We all
walked out and went to O'tooles in Wurtsboro,NY where we were treated like
kings! My brother and I bought Heritage Softails, my dad a Wide Glide and My
Bros' in-law an Ultra Classic! That one rude comment cost Tramontin about 50
Grand! I know of a private H-D club in the area and not one of them will go
to Tramontin!" - AC 12/01 "This Harley dealership is also a Honda dealer as well,
although for the life of me I can't imagine why! All the Hondas are
clustered into a small corner of the store [more like yuppie boutique] and
when you go there for Honda parts they immediately cop a condescending
attitude towards you. However since they are the closest Honda dealer to me
[only one in Warren county] and I read they are under new management I
thought maybe they had changed and decided to give them another try. They
did change, they got much worse! After hearing my parts request the man
behind the counter gave a little laugh, then walked away to answer the
phone, and then catered to other customers, while ignoring me for the next
15 minutes. Finally I got disgusted and left. If they don't like Hondas ,why
do they sell them! I plan on buying a new FXDX when I sell my house, but it
most definitely won't be from Tramontin!" - BK 04/03
"I went to this
dealer for repairs on my Sportster. After they evaluated it they said I
needed a top end rebuild. This is where everything started to go wrong, 2
weeks later I was told the engine case was cracked and they would weld it
for me, a month later not done yet, 3 months go by and I have to call the
owner about this. He assures me I will have my bike in a week. Sure enough I
get the bike back. I have the bike 1 week and it is leaking oil out of the
cases. I take it back and they put silicone on the case to mask the leak.
Needless to say these guys are the worst dealer I have ever had the
misfortune of doing business with and would never ever go back. I was told
by the new manager that they were restructuring and they were getting rid of
there so called mechanics and that if I gave them another chance they would
make good. The only problem was they wanted me to pay for it." - SD 09/03
"This dealership has done a complete change. The whole staff is new. You
walk into the dealership they greet you, offer coffee. Ask if you need help.
They tell you all there events. And they have a ton. Some I never even heard
of a dealership doing. They make you feel like you are a part of the family.
They are adding on to there dealership, it is going to be huge when they are
done. You see the sales people, parts, clothing and even service all working
together. All wanting to help out where ever they could. I know this place
has had a bad rap in the past. But if you walk in there now you would be
amazed. I know I was." - CB 03/04
"I am not one to voice my comments, but could not resist after reading some
of the other comments regarding Tramontin. In August 2003 we purchased our
first bike at Tramontin, and had done a lot of shopping around, and in
March, 2004 we purchased our second bike. I had gone into numerous HD
dealers (in NJ and Penn) and as a female, I did not get the time of day.
When I called Tramontin, it was after hours and the owner answered the
phone. He was very helpful and suggested I come into their dealership and
he would assist me. Well, I did just that. I was not pushed into a purchase
and they spent a great deal of time with me answering my questions and
giving excellent advise. I did return again and again, and each time was
given the same treatment by all. Well in March, 2004 my husband was ready
for a new bike. We returned and again felt like the family. I would highly
recommend them, for several reasons." - EC 03/04 |

KOSCO H-D
Kinnelon, NJ
|
"Can't comment on there practice for new bikes, but
I did pick up a '95 FXDWG at a fair price, and they were super to deal
with." - KO 12/99
"I am a personal friend of the owner, however, I think that they
got to big to fast. little kids behind counters that have never even
SEEN an HD before. I only go here if I need to pick up something
while I'm at work (I work nearby) I dropped off a starter motor to have it
bench tested, here is the dialog...
me-"Can you bench test this for me?"
guy-"Sure, what year?"
me-"'90 FLTHCU"
guy-"is it fuel injected?"
I lost all confidence in them with that question." - EP 1/00
"will only sell to local customers." - BG 1/00
"I picked up my 2000 FLSTF at Kosco in March, for MSRP. It
may have helped that I ordered it in the fall of 99. When I ordered
the bike they told me it wouldn't be in till June. I was pleasantly
surprised when they called me at the start of March and told me it would
arrive in 2 weeks. I was extremely satisfied with the people and
service at Kosco. They're a great group of people. I originally went
to Tramontin H-D in Hope NJ but they wanted about $2000 above MSRP even on
an ordered bike." - T 5/00
"I was 21 years old, in the military (read clean-shaven/crew cut)
ready to lay down some dough on a new Sportster. I went into Kosco,
and got no attention from the salespeople even though I asked repeatedly
for help and did my best to look confused. I assume that you have to
have a gray beard down to your belt and be covered in tattoos to get any
help in this place, because I got none, even though I was ready to blow
$7000. Went to Legends in Clifton." - CC 4/01
"I searched everywhere for a Buell Blast and since it is summer
time I had trouble finding one close to MSRP and found Kosco. I paid
exactly MSRP plus tax. Nothing else. Everywhere I went the
stealers wanted an additional $500 to $1000. Being as they are
located on a highway and that I only recently finished MSF, I was
reluctant to ride it home. They arranged to have it delivered by an
employee who lived near me, close to 50 miles away. I will forever
be a loyal customer. The gang at Kosco treated this little lady just
fine." - FF 6/01

OCEAN COUNTY H-D
Lakewood, NJ
|
"The service I received on July 9, 2001 I went in and told the
service person that my front brakes were pulsing. He told me to have a
seat and they proceeded to change the front rotor and put on new pads. I
did not buy the bike there and the next day July 10th was the last day of
my 12 month warranty. Nice people to deal with." - GM 7/01
"I had some work done by Ocean County Harley and they tried to charge
me for something I had done myself four months earlier. They also charged
me for four (4) head gaskets! (On a V-Twin) duh.. Took me four months to
get my $200 back from them. Service people said they would take care of
it, never did! I finally took the problem to the owner, he made good in
one week. Lesson learned. Be Careful, look at your receipts." - PY 06/02
"About 1000 over MSRP, but that would give me a $500 in store credit to
purchase merchandise... wow, what sports they were." - JH 07/02
"I have found this service dept. to be extremely helpful. They put in a
lot of time trying to find a elec. short as well as removing a broken stud
in my soft tail swing arm that I was NOT charged for !! The sales, parts,
and service dept. are all very helpful. Ocean County HD will continue to
get my business!" - RC 09/02
"I had my bike in for several items while under warranty. Out of the 4
or 5 times it was in something was either scratched or dented or not
fixed. They said they were waiting for the factory to tell them what to
do. After 5 trips for the same item Well I got involved with the factory
and they sent what was needed to fix. I wanted some additional work done
and the dealer himself said they don't want to work on my bike cause I'm
too picky. Every time they scratched something I had them replace it.
If wanting my bike back without scratches and dents is too picky oh well
their lack of professional people servicing bikes have made me take my
repairs elsewhere. If I broke down in their parking lot I would have it
towed somewhere else." - GM 02/03
"I visited this dealership about a year ago, and the staff couldn't be
any friendlier-even got to chat with the owner. Fast forward to April
2003, what an about-face! The salesman clearly didn't take me seriously,
refused to answer my questions, and chastised me for wanting to buy a
"girl's bike". I left feeling like a second class citizen. Despite the
shabby treatment, I called the salesman the next day. He said he had to go
ask his manager about my question, and I never heard from him again. I
called the sales manager to complain, and he tried to sell me a bike that
cost four grand more than the bike I was originally looking at. Yeesh!
I ended up traveling 50 miles north to another dealer. They DID take me
seriously, and I ordered my brand spankin' new sporty with no muss, no
fuss, no drama. I won't return to Ocean County HD. PS - three weeks after
all of this happened, somebody from the dealership finally returned my
phone call. Go figure." - PW 05/03
"Went to the dealer 4 miles away to order a bike and was told they
don't take any special orders. "Sorry, we can't help you" the sales
manager said. What they get is what they will sell. I wanted spoked
rims and they wouldn't accommodate me. I went 70 miles to another
dealer and they happily took my deposit and changed one of the bikes they
had on order to accommodate me at MSRP. No problem." - BT 09/03
"I went to 3 dealerships looking for a new bike. I knew exactly what I
wanted in the way of color, wheels, and extra chrome. 2 out of the 3
could not get what I was requesting. The 3rd dealership, H-D of Ocean
County, not only could give me what I wanted but they went out of their
way to help me. I sat down and talked with the Sales Manager about
price. I explained to him I was looking for some special parts for my
bike. He took me over to the parts counter and they immediately looked up
the parts and gave me an estimated date of 2 weeks for the items that were
not in stock. I thought that was great, so back I went to the sales desk
and ordered my bike. I was given a delivery date for the new bike. 3
days prior to that date, I received a phone call from the dealership to
say that the bike was in. The very next day, the bike was unpacked and up
on a lift installing all my parts. The service manager was fabulous. He
was very accommodating to my needs and had the bike ready for me in a
matter of a few days. The day my bike was to come home with me, we had
just had a snow storm. I was not riding my bike home on icy roads as much
as I wanted to, so the owner personally delivered the bike to my house.
What a fabulous experience from Sales to Parts to Service to the
paperwork. I walked away with a feeling of entering a new family.
Everyone was so nice and went out of their ways to make sure I was happy.
The best part though of it all was that I was able to get the bike I
wanted, for the price I wanted and with the extras I wanted." - KD 02/04
"The general manager of Ocean County Harley called me after reading my
post on Stealers and Dealers. We spoke about my problem and came to an
agreement in regards to my problem. I picked my bike up from OCHD. I spoke
to two of the managers and a great guy from the parts department. They
even called one manager who was on vacation in Florida to let me speak to
him to make sure I was satisfied. My problem was corrected to my
satisfaction in less time that I was told it would take, and I have again
become a customer of OCHD. When I say to my satisfaction I mean it was
clean, done right and covered when I got there in its own private corner!
It was about 30 degrees out and they actually offered to trailer my bike
home when I got there but I decided to ride since I was prepared for it. I
see now that if you have a problem that's legitimate and you voice your
concern it will be taken care of at OCHD. Good job OCHD and nice to have a
dealer that did right by me and is right around the corner because my old
lady is looking at the 1200 Sporty. Thanks also to Dealers or Stealers,
your site is great and got my problem solved!
I really encourage everyone
to put their posts, good or bad, up on this site. The dealers read it!" - WW 12/05

WILLIAMS H-D
Lebanon, NJ

"I bought a 99
fxstc at Williams HD about 4 months ago. I was never in his place before I bought my
bike.
I simply called told him what kind of bike I
wanted, and he told me, like almost every other dealer, he would call me if
and when he got an extra or when I would come down to order a 2000. Thinking he was a
typical dealer, I never gave it a second thought to go to the place. To my surprise, 2
months later he called me and told me an extra fxstc was in and it could be mine if I
wanted it. Needless to say its now all mine. What I still cant believe is I never set foot
in the place until I actually bought
the bike. I talked over the phone to the owner/salesman. This in my opinion
is a old fashioned hand shake type deal. In my opinion this is the only place
to buy your new or used bike. EVERY bike is sold at MSRP. Oh, he is not the closest
dealer to me, it takes about 40 minutes to get there from my house. I wouldn't
go to the
local dealers, about 15 mins. away for even the smallest part." - BD
8/99 "It *WAS* one
of the best dealers in the nation. However, it sold to a bunch of
money hungry a-holes. They want NOTHING to do with you unless you
are buying a NEW BIKE. They will (and have) shafted ANYONE if they
get a chance. They have one good mechanic, but 2 that should be
SHOT!!! By all means, got to another dealer (Edison is just up the
road)" - EP 1/00 "A dealer and service department
with customer service as their primary focus. Free pickup &
delivery in winter months. Service dept. did a 95" kit
/cams/ignition upgrade on my '00 Dyna with a 3 day turnaround. Bike
was immaculate upon pickup and runs like new. Good HOG chapter, but
no parts discounts for members. HOG members get a 15% discount on
shop labor. They've won my business exclusively." - GR 02/01 "When
we walked in, we couldn't help but feel at home. All the staff
members, right down to the owner greet you warmly. Williams made the
purchase of our new 2001 bike a great experience. Their pick up and
delivery service made it easy to take delivery of our bike on what I thought
was the coldest day of the year. Our bike was immaculate! We not
only have a great H-D dealership in Hunterdon County, we also have great
friends. Thanks Williams! We wouldn't think of going anywhere
else." - DT 02/01 "Have dealt with Williams HD since
1949. The new owners are keeping the tradition of "the customer comes
first." The service dept is first rate, some of the mechanics
came with the new owners. I will continue ,as will my son, to deal with
this dealership as long as I am able to lift a leg over a Harley. The new
facility should be awesome." - RE 3/01 "Another Long Islander
tired of the games and attitudes of the local dealers takes the trip to
Jersey to deal with the great staff at Williams. My 2000 road King Classic
is right on the mark. Everything about the deal was awesome. Thank You
again! IM telling everyone on the island that you are worth the
trip." - GT 6/01 "They are selling their motorcycles WAY above list
and the entire staff is rude and acts superior to their customers (with the
exception of maybe TWO employees). I called when I was ready to purchase my
next bike and NO ONE returned my call. I am so glad I went to Edison
because not only did they treat me great, I got my 2002 motorcycle AT LIST!
Incidentally, Williams is selling the same bike for $2,000 more!" - DK
11/01 "I would never buy a bike there. The have a stupid policy - put your
self on a waiting list for the model you want they call you when the bikes
arrive. You can't even choose a color, they just keep calling you when that
model comes in - if it's not the color you want, you pass it up and wait.
Plus they are very secretive with prices - one came in I asked what is the
price was told - sorry we can't give prices over the phone !! What fool will
waste their time riding down not knowing the price. They also all options
many times to the bikes so you buy equipped as is. No way, not a dealer to
go to - waste of time." - BP 08/02 "I visited the Dealer Looking for
an FXD and they said leave your number and when one comes in Ill call you.
Imagine That! I am not going to sit around and just wait hoping that they
get in exactly what I am looking for. They also would not quote a price
until they had one come in and was ready to go! No Thank you." - RT 10/02 "I emailed Williams H-D looking to buy a 2003 Heritage Softail
Classic for my husband. They were the only dealership that returned my
email, explained to me that at that moment they didn't have one in stock,
but if they did get one in, (the ONE I wanted), they would call me. About 4
weeks later, the called to tell me they had it in, and asked me if I was
still interested. I said I was, and the salesman asked when I could
be down there, I explained my work situation, and he said no problem, he
would wait til I could get. He never even asked me for a deposit. I called
the next day to offer a deposit since he was so nice to me, and at first he
didn't even want to take it, but then he did. We are now the proud owner of
a 100th Anniversary Heritage Softtail Classic! I've been to Harley
dealerships in the past 18 months who made it more than apparent that you
were there to serve them instead of the other way around; either that or you
got the impression that you were intruding upon their valuable time (Kosco
HD in Kinnelon NJ comes to mind right away!). Let me tell you that the
people at Williams HD, from the salesman to the finance lady to the
accessories saleslady to the parts and service managers, are all top-notch!
They were courteous, excited about getting me into the HD family (this is my
first HD), and went out of their way to make the whole purchasing affair a
pleasant experience. These folks are the absolute best, and when it's time
for us to buy my wife's Low Rider in '04, you can bet we'll be driving back
down to Williams HD!"
- RC 01/03
"I recently called the owner, who sold me my first bike a 1999 FXSTC at
MSRP, and told him I was looking to buy a 2003 FXD. He told me he had a
black FXD coming in soon and if I was interested I could come down and put a
deposit on it. I then asked if he still sold bikes at MSRP, and he told me
he only sold certain models at MSRP. I asked him if the FXD was one of these
he said no. NOW here's the best, He then told me the bikes he sold at MSRP
were the USED BIKES. I asked if he could sell at MSRP because I am a
returning customer and he said, " absolutely NOT ". I've never heard of USED
bikes being sold at MSRP? After he relocated a built a new store I guess he
needs to rape even his loyal customers. By the way I was told that the FXD
would be $1,000 OVER MSRP." - RM 03/03
"Went back to Williams H-D next year to buy my wife's Low Rider - well, we
just couldn't wait and went back in April to get it! As before, the entire
crew at Williams H-D were just great! From the salesman who sold us the
bike (the same one who sold us the FLSTCI) to the girl who handled the
financing to the man who delivered it to us, all of them were nothing short
of professional, caring, courteous, and genuinely excited to get my wife on
a Harley! They say that lightning never strikes the same place twice -
well, in this case it did, and it struck at Williams Harley-Davidson! When
it came time for me to look for a HOG chapter to join, I tried contacting Tremontin and Kosco via e-mail and got no replies from either. Guess they
don't want my business. On the other hand, the nice folks at Williams were
more than happy to hook me up with the chapter they sponsor, so even though
I live more than an hour away, that's the chapter I'll be joining. Williams
is simply a top-notch Harley dealership in every way!" - RC 06/03
"I have been dealing with the Williams brothers since 1977 and had purchased
three motorcycles from them. I have just purchased my fourth Harley
Davidson motorcycle from Williams H-D, a new 2004 Sportster 1200C, and I
couldn't be more pleased. The new owners have been nothing less than
fantastic to deal with. The price I was quoted was the price that I paid. I
am not the easiest customer in the world to deal with, but the Williams
staff had patience with me all throughout the sales process. In addition, I
consulted with their parts staff for advice on accessories (both performance
and appearance..) and was offered straightforward, excellent and honest
advice. And finally, the quality of the prep and performance work done be
their service technician was spot on in performance and the bike was
meticulous, absolutely immaculate at delivery, as I had anticipated from
previous dealings with Williams. I have referred many, many people to
Williams Harley Davidson in the past and will certainly continue to do so."
- JM 02/04
"I received chrome brake parts and accessories for my 03 FLSTF as a gift.
This included H-D chrome calipers, rotors and brake line. I went to Williams
H-D to have this installed, Last year my bike was rear ended and I had it
repaired at Williams. That bill totaled over $5000. So this time I go there
to have my brakes mounted. I bought mirror chrome rims and 2 new tires and
brake pads from them. I received a call from them saying one of the bleeder
screws on the caliper is stripped and that I would have to buy a new one
from them. They refused to swap out the chrome caliper for a new one unless
I bought it and told me to "warranty it where I bought it" After
paying for the new caliper and labor, the service department stated that the
parts department would look into warrantying the brand new in the box
caliper I brought them. This was after I told them, and they checked their
computer and found that I had in the past purchased quite a lot of parts
from Williams (over $6,000) Weeks later they said they warrantee the caliper
but they would give it to me in store credit only (meanwhile I still spent
close to $400 more than I expected to spend, on a new caliper from them. Why
they didn't just warranty it in the first place and not charge me is beyond
me. I will never allow them to service my bike again.." - MO 03/04
"Good dealership if you don't mind paying 2,000 over suggested retail...
make a long story short... I live 10 minutes from the dealer I was forced to
travel to Long Branch H-D (65 miles away) to get my 2003 fat boy at
suggested retail. By the way the William brother's no longer own the
Dealership it was sold. When it was #1 William and #2 William (God rest his
soul) the prices were suggested retail. But when the dealer was sold the
prices were inflated and the BMW & Mercedes Benz (Yuppies) took over the
dealer. Forget about the middle man it was all over. Its just a money making
venture the Family mentality went out the window." - RV 04/04
"Visited them in 2004,not only will they not order a bike for you (I was
told) there new bikes on the floor were loaded up with chrome and way, way
above MSRP." - RT 02/05
"My wife and I rate this dealer and the entire purchase process a 10 out of
10. They got me my bike fast and delivered it pristine. The Owner, the
salesman, the finance person, the parts and service people were an excellent
team. I can't think of a more pleasant purchase in my life. I spent a lot of
time there during the process and saw nothing but dozens and dozens of happy
customers. I would highly recommend this dealer to everyone! Harley should
be proud to have Williams H-D in their family!" - KK 03/05
"I do not like Williams HD, as I have been screwed there before. I needed an
oil filter for my 05 RK. I went there yesterday (09/01/05) to pick up a
black oil filter. They charged me $13.95. I was taken back by the high
price, but thought HD raised the price since they went from a 10 micron
filter to a 5 micron filter. This stealer charged me the price of a chrome
filter! The filter I bought lists for $8.95 MSRP. What thieves!" - MO 09/05 |
H-D OF LONG BRANCH
Long Branch, NJ

"According to a well-known biker magazine, readers have sent in
letters claiming that this dealer sells bikes at or near MSRP."
"Bikes & parts at MSRP; they take deposits only
for bikes they know they're getting. 10% discount on parts, accessories,
clothing, etc. for local HOG chapter members. Generally friendly and
helpful once they get to know you." - TW 8/99
"While vacationing at the Jersey Shore
July 26, 2001, my son and I stopped by the the local HD dealer on a rainy
afternoon, just to kill time, and see what they had ( I have been dying to
get a new Harley for the past three years). To my surprise, they had two
new 2001 FLHTCUI's, one red and one black, each priced at MSRP + 360 for
freight and setup. I asked if the price was real, and the salesman said
"yes". I asked if they would sell to an out of state resident at that
price, again they said, "yes". Being from Georgia, where most dealers
want $4,000 to $5,000 over for the comparable bike, I got their card,
spent the next several days convincing my wife that "the guys in Jersey
had made me a deal I couldn't refuse". I called back the following
Wednesday to confirm the deal and make a deposit. On August 11, 2001, I
picked up my new bike. No surprises, every thing just as we agreed. The
owner, took time to check me out and personally load it on my trailer for
the trip home to Georgia. Got 10% off on all accessories too. This
dealership definitely lives up to it's reputation as a dealer. By the
way, it was a hard choice, but I got the red one." - GB 9/01
"The salesmen there were very helpful. They went out of their way to help
this first time Harley buyer. The cost of the bike was MSRP, not a penny
over, only catch was that I was going to have to wait about 6 months to
get the bike." - JH 07/02
"After reading about H-D of Longbranch on this site I called and spoke to
a salesman. He quoted MSRP on a 2003 Deuce. I visited them the following
week and was very impressed with the dealership and the friendly service.
I plopped down my $500.00 deposit and, after the salesman totaled up the
bill, I found that his numbers came out to $400.00 less than my numbers.
I'm getting the bike at MSRP and for $400.00 less than I calculated. The
only catch is that, according to this dealer and several others, Harley
will not be shipping red, white, or blue anniversary bikes until after
December 2002. I won't see my bike until April." - NS 08/02 |
MILLVILLE H-D
Millville, NJ

|
"According
to well known motorcycle publication, this dealer sells new Harleys at or
near MSRP" "I've had very good experience with Millville HD.
Ordered a new Road King in late March. At that time the dealer
thought the bike would be hear by late December. Bike actually arrived mid
- Oct. so at least he didn't promise a date he couldn't deliver. He's
given me 10% on anything bought at the store even though I had yet to take
delivery of the bike. Was the only dealer I could find who would let me
test ride both a Road King and Electra-Glide and was content to get list
prices on new bikes ordered no gauging. Millville is in a state enterprise
zone so only 3% sales tax on parts and labor." - RD 10/99
"The dealership is beautiful. There is a
lot of Motorclothes to choose from, bike on the floor to look at, and the
nieces staff employees. A $500 deposit will get you on a list for a new
bike if you live in the area, South Jersey, De. and Pa. And the service
shop get you in and out as soon as possible. Thank you Guys and
Gals." - TD 4/01 "I bought my 03 fxdwg from Millville HD. The sales
people were friendly and did not have any attitudes what so ever. I shopped
several dealers before choosing them. I can say the worst was Mills HD. The
salesperson there had a major bad attitude and insulted me on the phone, not
to mention selling over MSRP. Ocean County HD had nice sales people but
couldn’t match the deal I got at Millville. Since I traveled over 2 hrs to
buy the bike, they gave me a really good deal a few bucks below MSRP." - JK
09/03 "Outstanding dealership! Everyone there has treated me
like royalty. Even the owner was intimately involved with the sale. They
sold below MSRP! They have earned my repeat business in ALL things HD." - PC

LIBERTY H-D
Rahway, NJ

|
"Liberty HD is now customizing all new bikes before they hit the
floor. For example I was looking for a new Road King, they were the only
dealer in my area, besides Lombardi HD on Staten Island, who had a one
available immediately. I was told to come see the bike and the whole
dealership. One little detail they left out was the new Road King had the
black and white with orange flames custom paint on it, an additional four
thousand dollars. As the salesman/owner , I think his name was Stu,
started showing me other bikes I could buy that "weren't as customized"
I realized I wasted a 45 minute drive to get there. Not one new bike had
less than $2500 dollars worth of add-ons on it. I told Stu, I thought that
what he was doing was wrong and how does he expect a blue collared working
man to afford a new Harley. His response was " If you don't like it,
get the HELL out."" - MA 2/00
"Bikes are sold at MSRP, plus H-D freight and 4 yr. warranty, plus
$193.00 prep to customers who live in the dealership trade area (Union
County, NJ & part of Middlesex County, NJ). Bikes are sold
"off-the-floor". Advance orders for bikes are taken only
from customers who want to customize the bike, or who have a Harley to
trade in. Customers who want to customize can use any of Liberty's
performance or chrome packages, or can make up their own custom package of
Harley and aftermarket parts, paint, etc. Dealership is open 7 days a
week, but no bike sales on Sunday (NJ state law)." - Liberty H-D 5/00
"I bought a new Dyna wide glide from Liberty and got the run
around it had two chips in front fender seat was loose among other things
wrong with it. And they didn't try to make good on any of it. If you pay
for a prep job all you get is a tank of gas and send you on your way. I
think they should sell Hondas in stead of Harleys. They would never get a
good review from me. When you speak the truth about them you are no longer
welcome in their store no more." - MK 6/01
"Liberty charged me $600 for prep on my new wide glide. That's 10
hours of shop time! This is what we found wrong with the bike, seat loose,
head lamp loose, exhaust pipes loose at the cylinders, clutch cable clip
not in place, stripped oil line, wire strap under the seat broken, the
rotation numbers still on the rims of the wheels and the dirt from there
test ride all over the place! There were other unhappy customers that paid
$200 for there prep, so I told my salesman it better be right for $600. I
also wrote the owner a letter explaining the situation and he didn't even
have the curtsey to reply! Now here is the kicker this bike was not rode
home, and if it was the loose seat bolt would have damaged the fender and
paint. The exhaust nuts were so loose, you could turn them with your
fingers that the pipe might have damaged the cylinder heads in travel or
worst came loose and caused an accident. Lastly this bike would have been
ridden home in the dark, can you imagine riding down the road and your
head lamp fall off. It is bad enough that they black mail you with
purchasing extra equipment in order to get the bike but to get a lousy
prep job on top of it is going to far." - MS 6/01
"This dealer was charging about $600 over cost. They were helpful and
prompt." - JH 07/02
"I recently left a deposit on a 03' RK Classic Gunmetal for MSRP. The
sales person was very nice, took me in the service area to show me
two RK's being prepped, one was Gunmetal so I can see what it looks like.
I spent 1.5 hours with him. No pressure to buy, no attitude. I checked 4
other dealers in the central NJ area, Liberty was the only MSRP dealer I
found in central NJ." - BP 08/02
"Stay away - they sell MSRP but you must buy options/packages." - BP
05/03
"Showed up at liberty looking for a new road king classic they would
not take the order without what the salesman termed a "2k store credit".
When asked what it was for he told me it could be used for the purchase of
merchandise, service etc.. Funny I always thought a store credit was a
gift to the buyer, silly me. When asked if it would be returned if I
didn't want any extras he told me it weeded out the lookers from the
serious buyer's we keep it! So here I am with a check in my hand for an 18k
toy and I'm not serious (or is that delirious?) I walked. Drove over to
Edison HD. Same BS, but only 1k over list. I walked again. Headed to
Blocker HD in Parryville PA. Bought the bike for list. " - HB 06/03
"Liberty likes to take your money - they charge MSRP, but charge over
600.00 for dealer prep on new bikes, and they make you buy other options
(almost happened to me so I walked). They are not family oriented - those
that buy there need a head check." - RP 08/03
"Went to the dealer to order a 'special order'. The sales manager call
the Harley order line while I was sitting across the desk from him. Asked
to change the order. No problem. Bike was delivered 3 months later as
expected at MSRP." - BT 09/03
"My experience with Liberty was GREAT! After numerous BAD experiences,
I walked into this dealership and was greeted by a very professional
salesman who walked me through the whole buying experience. I was treated
like family from the first day. I knew this was the place I wanted to buy
my bike from. Once I made the deal ( @ MSRP ) My wife and I were
introduced to all of the key players in the company, from The owner, who
was on the floor speaking with customers (not hiding behind some desk
oblivious to the day to day doings), to Service, Parts, and apparel. I
truly became part of the Liberty family. Every time I go to the store for
goodies or service I'm treated great. The service I have done has been
basic but no complaints to speak of." - JP 08/04

"Great guys they put up list of available bikes
first Thursday of each month that will be in within 90 days usually 20 -
30 bikes. People start to line up about 9:00 the night before. Big
twins go 1000.00 over MSRP" - JT 4/00
"Places list on the wall first Thursday of the every month.
I arrived at 6:30am day of list. I was 4th in line and had my bike
delivered in promised time frame (3 months). They tack on $1000 over
MSRP but this covers freight, setup, and mv fees. So figure they get about
$300 to 500 over MSRP. They seem to be experiencing some growing
pains after moving into there "superstore".
All workers are courteous and helpful. I have nothing but good
things to say about this." - ZP 5/00
"I have been a customer since 1976. They are tops in efficient
service and friendly attitudes. New bike prices are a little above MSRP
but it covers delivery, prep etc. Quite fair as far as I'm
concerned." - JQ 02/01
"Great bunch of folks. It was a pleasure dealing with them. I
would highly recommend this dealership. I paid MSRP for my bike." -

"I couldn't help but submit a comment after reading the positive
reviews about Bergen County HD. Though I have no experience with their
sales department, their service department is the stuff of legend. In
fact, on a recent road trip to from NJ to VT, I met more than a few people
who had their bikes totally screwed up by that service department. The
story of my experience is all chronicled
here so I
won't be repetitious - but I will say that they are, by far, THE worst
service technicians I have ever dealt with on any product, bar none." - ML

"As the owner of Harley-Davidson/Buell of Bergen Inc., I feel I must
respond to the comments made by ML, 9/01. I personally wish to apologize
to ML and regret any bad experience he may have had with our service dept.
While we have had problems with certain technicians who formerly worked
here, we have taken steps to improve the quality of our service work and
are committed to make our Service Dept. first class. As part of our effort
to regain customer confidence, we have hired a new Service Manager and are
looking to hire more Master Technicians. Our Service Manager has many
years of experience in the automotive service industry and is an avid
motorcyclist who owns three bikes. He will be happy to discuss any
questions or concerns you may have with past or future dealings with our
service department." - Bergen Co. H-D 12/01
"My search for a FXST-I finally came to an end at Bergen County H-D.
After searching many dealers with waiting lists, Lotteries, one dealer
actually told me they didn't know what they had coming in. put my name on
3x5 card and said they would call me. Found Bergen through friend. I
called the salesman recommended and he sat me down showed me what was
coming in the next few months. I picked one and Four months later I had my
FXST-I. Highly recommend Bergen H-D." MH 07/02
"I bought one bike from them in 2001. The service tech's are terrible.
The sales staff don't have a clue as to what they are doing, well actually
one guy does but he acts like your bothering him. The parts guys are so
miserable I feel sorry for them. The motor clothes department is the only
thing good about the dealership. I am sorry I sent several friends to
Bergen , I guess you live in learn, we all went to Legends in Clifton!" -

"I have dealt with Bergen County HD for about a year and a half now. I
have never felt so accepted into a family as I have with Bergen. The
respect I get from the motor clothes, sales, parts, service and techs is
second to none and that makes a guy feel good about spending a hard earned
dollar. I would recommend everyone to shop and deal with Bergen County
HD. In my honest opinion I fell like Bergen County HD is at the top of
the game when it comes to customer service. Thanks to BCHD for making my
first HD purchase a great experience." - BL 05/03 "$1000 over MSRP. If you buy a bike here, don't ever go back.
Absolute worst service dept. you could imagine. I'm talking about missing
parts, rounded off nuts, horrible stuff really. If you break down in
their parking lot, you'd be better off calling for a flat-bed." - WG 09/04
"My first new HD and after checking out other shops like Mike's Famous and
Williams, they were getting the bike I wanted, the way I wanted it and at
MSRP (unlike Mike's). The salesman was great but there was a little
pressure from the finance guy to take the insurances and warranties. He
had the numbers worked out prior to me sitting down with everything rolled
in. Not cool. They did offer a 10% discount if I wanted to purchase
"goodies" before picking it up (so I could roll it into the financing)
That's ok but the finance guy was a pest with regard to seeing if I wanted
stuff or not. Just ask twice. I think someone spending near 20K on a bike
knows what they want. I did get the oil cooler but I would have gotten it
regardless. I haven't had work done on the bike besides the oil cooler (no
problems there) but overall I had a good experience." - JR 02/05
"I bought an 05 RKC, picked it up in March, and rode down to Va Beach in
May, on the ride down my handlebars actually "fell" down, and my heel
shifter and peg came right off the spindle, and fell on to the street.
Then, just this past weekend, my spark plugs gave me trouble, looked at
them, and they were fouled!! They were so loose I could take them off with
my fingers. I only have 5500 hundred miles on them! I wrote a letter to
the owner, and cc'd it to the MoCo. Really not looking for anything, just
to make them aware of the issue. I would never take my bike back there for
service again. Sales guys, and parts guys, have always been awesome, and
anytime you want something for your bike, they have it in stock. The
dealerships real issue is their service dept." - GC 07/05 |

"According to a well-known biker magazine, readers
have sent in letters claiming that this dealer sells bikes at or near
MSRP."
"Got my 2001 Fatboy at MSRP. I walked in Jan 14th, gave 100
deposit and was told when the factory would deliver, March 6.....It was
there. Dealership is first rate, and 15% off all purchases at
delivery." - DR 3/01
"I had a really bad experience with the service department here. After
buying my bike there, a new 2000 FXDWG at about $1,000 over MSRP, and
spending thousands of dollars in parts and clothes I got turned away by
the drive-in Saturday service because my problem was not, "standard
service". Turned out to be a loose head bolt cover, but that experience
turned me off for good. I'm giving my hard earned dollars to someone who
appreciates more." - CW 9/01
"Just got a 2002 Fatboy for MSRP. Very knowledge and helpful
salesman. Dealership is very interested in customer service. Would
definitely buy here again." - JK 10/01 "Their top parts guy is unbelievable. The most helpful,
knowledgeable, guy I have ever seen. Knows every part # in his head, knows
what's good and bad, etc. Takes pride in what he does, and takes mucho pride
in being *good*." - BR 09/04 |
