ALEXANDRIA H-D
Alexandria, LA

"I am a Shriner, one day I got a wild hair to get
rid of the scoot that I had and get me a Ultra Shriner's Edition. Harley.
You know , the one with all the bells and whistles. I shopped and
shopped, and found that the deal was at Alexandria Harley. The owner
"Mickey Jordan" was one heck of a nice guy. The rest of
the crew there have been very helpful, "Stephanie" (very
pretty), "Ricky T." (this guy can sell perfume to a skunk), and
the Mechanics. This is by far a great group of guys and gals.
They sold to me at the Shiner's discount which is the way it should be if
you are a Shriner and belong to the ESCORT Unit of the shrine (which I
do). They also sell to others at the price that it should be, MSRP.
They are great. Also , they are giving 20% off of Harley Accessories
at purchase of a new scoot. You can talk straight forth with them
and expect the same. I am not but 30 min. away form Shreveport HD,
but my business went about 1hr. 45 min. away to Alex. HD. At Alex. HD,
they treat a good old boy like a good old boy should be treated.
This a great feeling to have about a shop you go to and can walk through
the door and meet smiling faces and a attitude that they are glad to have
you." - BC 5/00 "Great experience with these guys. I live in DFW area and made the
deal by telephone. Saved a ton of money. They treated me like a king! A
wonderful experience." LM 4/01
"I have been customer of this store for 6 months and every time I
go there they treat me right. I have 11K in 6 months so the bike is
getting ridden hard they have been both VERY professional and courteous
and have FIXED every issue right the first time. I recommend this place to
all wishing to buy HD." - GD 6/01
"These people are great. When I picked up my 2001 Road King with a
personal check for the down payment and a check from the bank for the
balance (MSRP), I was $75 short. They waived the difference, gave me a
shirt ($35), gave me a set of engine guard covers ($80), and offered me a
rain suit (it was pouring). Before I left, the owner, the salesperson, the
parts guy, and the mechanic were all gathered around me and the bike. They
seemed more excited than I was about the whole deal. I also got a 15%
discount on all purchases for 30 days. I chose Alexandria H-D because 1
year prior to this I had broken down on my Sportster about 35 miles from
their shop. I had never set foot in the shop before and didn't know
anybody who worked there. I called and the owner of the shop came with a
trailer and picked up me and the bike and had it repaired in 3 hours (no
charge for the road call). I know this is a long letter, but please print
it, because I did cut it short. Every visit there has been a good
experience." - JH 10/01
"I bought an '02 FLSTCI in October and have had nothing but outstanding
service since then! The owner gives a 10% discount to HOG members and they
just moved into a a brand new store." - TG 04/02
"Went by this facility last weekend and was greeted at the door by the
owner. My family was treated like he had known us for years. We had just
made a road trip over to this Dealer since comments were so good. I
believe that if he had been a little better stocked on bikes he would have
made a sale that day to my wife. This is a real fine place and group of
people to deal with. Owner stated that he had no problem selling to anyone
@ MSRP + setup, delivery & 3 yr h-d warranty (approx $1250 over MSRP).
That's not bad since I come from the stealer region, TEXAS. I feel
that this fellow still has the right idea about selling, Make friends not
enemies." - CS 06/02
"had a breakdown near Alexandria late in the day. The shop writer assured
me that they would do whatever it takes, including staying late to get me
on the road that night, if possible. The techs took a look and it wasn't
an easy fix, so I wasn't going to make it back to Dallas that night. I had
to be at work the next morning, so I rented a truck to haul the bike home.
The shop buttoned up the engine, loaded the bike up and hitched it down.
Total cost? $0. This dealership's service department is a cut above
in customer relationship. The staff friendly, caring, and helpful. The
techs went out of their way to show me exactly what they found, and were
very knowledgeable." - WG 03/05 |

"Sales Manager sorta squirrley. You will get a different
story from him every time you talk to him. Gives major priority to Baton Rouge area
residents. Has been known to dress up a bike with over three thousand dollars of
accessories in order to squeeze a little extra money from a potential customer. Only sales
person I know that talks bad about his own product. Calls Sportsters "beginner"
and "entry
level" Harleys. Technically he comes across as a nice guy but not one
you would want to build a working business relationship with." - PK
7/99 "I purchased a used Hugger from HD of Baton Rouge. The price
was great (they were also helping the first owner get into a new ride),
and the bike was clean, checked over, and ready to ride. The sales
guy wanted to make sure I would be happy. The owner truly desires
customer satisfaction. He even had one of his staff call me at home
to answer many questions. They offer HOG discounts, and have several
sales a year. FCFS bikes at MSRP plus freight and assembly.
The service department is top notch, the employees are friendly and
helpful, and they have a great showroom (with pool table and
coffee)." - FS 5/01
"Class act, ultra-modern facility. On a 4,000-mile road trip
from Ontario, Canada my buddy's '99 Wide Glide lost two bolts from the
upper engine mount. B-R HD took him in on a busy Saturday morning
and fixed it at nominal cost. Also did an oil/filter change for my
'00 FXST and another buddy's '99 Road King. All three bikes were
returned, after a test ride each and thorough going-over by the mechanic
on duty. The Road King had its drive belt tightened to specification
at no charge. To top it off, all the bugs and road scum were washed
off; every bike was released to us sparkling clean!! Triple thumbs
up to Baton Rouge Harley!" - DR 5/01
"I have one thing to say about this dealership, they are the best. I
purchased a new Harley-Davidson Sportster 1200 Custom Vivid Black. The
owner and I spoke about making this purchase and about two months later I
had may Harley. This dealer is first class and guess what they are open
everyday of the week. I would tell everyone to give them a call, they will
go out of the way to make you happy with gifts, coupons and return
telephone calls when needed. Way to Go!" - EG 11/01
"I drove from Houston to deal with these guys... Good service, and sell
for
MSRP. Houston dealers should spend a day learning from these guys." - JR
04/02
"Was just informed by people at the dealership, Baton Rouge will no
longer sell at MSRP. Prices are going up." - EY 08/02
"Checked out MSRP on several models before going into the dealership.
Compared prices, and found out the "dealership" was about 4000.00 over
MSRP. I'm only sending this because the previous entry said they were
going up from MSRP. Boy did they ever." - SB 03/03
"Sent an email to check price and availability on a 2003 and was told
they won't sell outside a hundred mile radius." - RB 10/03
"I had a 2003 Fatboy picked out from shopping online. When I went to
pick it up I saw a beautiful 03 Deuce that I had to have. They had pulled
the Fatboy off the floor for about a week and I was embarrassed to say
that I had changed my mind. Anyway, they bent over backwards to make me
feel comfortable. The salesman was great, the owner came by and
introduced himself, the finance dept made everything go smooth and got me
a great % rate. Not to mention he had to do the paper work all over for
the Deuce. The Motorclothes people treated me like a king helping me with
helmet sizing, jacket sizing etc. They just seemed to care about all
aspects of the sale. I have e mailed the service dept on a couple of
occasions to ask for appointments or just to ask a question and have
received a reply within a day or two. Great people, nice big store lots
of bikes to choose from." - MB 05/04
"I have been a loyal customer of this dealership for over 5 yrs. I
first purchased a used 883 with 519 miles on it and added accessories. I
rode it for three years putting many miles on it but always having it
serviced at HDBR at the required intervals. I paid $ 4700.00 dollars for
the bike. In April of 2003 i traded my 883 in for a new FLH, adding
accessories and received retail price as trade in value for the 883. The
dealership also knock off $1000.00 from the sticker price. In an hour and
a half the paperwork was signed , I had full coverage insurance, an
extended 5 yr. warranty and I was on my way home on my new baby. I have
put almost 48000 miles on my baby as of 7/15/05 and have never been
treated with anything but respect from everyone connected with the
dealership. I am a welcomed weekly visitor." - DG 07/05

"the owner is a real prince, his sales manager
is a real asshole. I have yet to meet anyone that had a good word to say about him. I
would have liked to have done business with them but I am not willing to go through
the sales manager
to do it. I suspect, and have been told there could be some shenanigans with the way
they
handle the waiting list." - PK 7/99 "I have had nothing but good
experiences from h-d of New Orleans. My motorcycle got stolen and
Will had it replaced in a matter of months. They do this for stolen or
totaled bikes. They also sell for msrp where a lot of dealers are gouging.
Will also go out to bat for you if there is anything wrong with your bike
that no one else cares about." - SW 9/99 "I can not comment
about the probems others have had with Louisiana'a
Harley Dealers.
I can honestly say that the only dealer that offered me a bike was Will
and David at Harley of New Orleans. They were "straight up" and
honest. They never promised me that they would get me a bike. When they
did promise me my XLH Sportster, they delivered, AT RETAIL PRICE.
That is a lot more than I can say about some other dealers in South
Louisiana. Some jack up prices and others tell you in no uncertain terms
that if you are not in their market area, they don't want your business.
Harley New Orleans is head and shoulders above the rest of the dealers in
South Louisiana. I know this from experience." - JA 10/99 "On a recent 4,000-mile road
trip, HD of New Orleans took our four bikes (including a Ducati!) in for
storage on a busy Saturday to be picked up on the following Tuesday.
This allowed four biker bros to tour Bourbon Street and the Jazz Festival
worry-free for the weekend (taxis were a better idea, believe me. On
the Tuesday morning, the owner, waived the usual $5/day/bike fee and just
charged a total of $20 for all four bikes. Proud to wear the HD of
New Orleans t-shirt!" - DR 5/01 "I visit this dealership on a
regular basis. The owner treats me good, whether I spend money or not. The
guy actually calls you by name, shakes your hand, and talks to you (imagine
that). Unfortunately, he is the exception and not the rule. I purchased my
bike from another dealer. The owner there does not even know I bought a bike
from him. It may be a little difficult to get a bike from Harley New
Orleans. They are the only dealer in South Louisiana that sells their bikes
MSRP. All the others either jack up their prices (a.k.a. Vaseline tax) or
accessorize the hell out of them and make you pay thousands extra.
Consequently, everyone wants to do business with Harley New Orleans. The
sales manager will work hard to get you a bike as soon as possible. Harley
New Orleans also has the nicest T-Shirts of any dealership I have ever
visited. The ladies do a good job. If they don't have something you want,
they will work hard to find it. Parts and service do a good job also. Like I
said before, I have visited many times and did not spend a dime. Everyone
was just as courteous. Harley New Orleans is South Louisiana's full quality
dealership." - JA 11/01 "Purchased a New 2001 FLHT std in May of
2001. Bike developed a shifting problem after three months. Upon
taking the bike in for another warranty problem I was told by the service
advisor/manager that I had serious problems inside the transmission and they
would have to disassemble it. Supposedly they found a bent shift fork
however bike still wanted to grind into first gear upon initial startup
(bike at normal idle speed 1000rpm), The service dept consulted with
Harley Customer service who advised them to check the operation of the
clutch and at a later date, Harley customer service said they checked their
fleet and it was normal (but with the choke out and high rpm). After being
told conflicting stories and the bike being at the dealership for a month I
was able to pick it up. Now, Harley Customer service tells me that
there was no problem "at all" with my bike and the work was done at MY
REQUEST! After many letters to the Motor Company and the Dealer I was
contacted by both the owner of the dealership and a supervisor in the
customer service department of the motor company. It was offered and agreed
that I would be given a new 2002 model FLHT Std with me paying the
difference between model years and the additional tax on that amount. I took
delivery of the new bike just a couple days ago. I feel that the owner of
the dealership was very helpful and he did seem to be interested in helping
me but it did take several letters and, finally having the letter get into
the right hands at the Motor Company before reaching an agreeable
resolution." - RH 03/02 "I needed to replace my bike that was totaled in a
wreck. I sent out emails to the sales departments of every HD dealer ship
in my area. About half of the dealerships replied to my emails. Of those
that did reply, only 3 dealerships would sell at MSRP. HD of New Orleans,
HD of Mobile and North Shore in Slidell. Only HD of New Orleans had the
bike I actually wanted. There are at least 8 dealerships that are closer
than they are, but the closest 3 wanted WAY more than MSRP. The local
dealership had the identical bike that I wanted on there floor, but I saved
1800 by going to New Orleans. I dealt with a salesman that turned out to
be the owner and when I went on a Saturday morning to pick it up, he was not
there, but the bike and paperwork were ready (he couldn't be there). I
Borrowed a pickup to bring it back home ( was still recovering from the
accident) and the salesman handling it for the owner even had a couple of
the service department people load the bike for me! I am very happy with the
bike and my experience with them. Just wish I could live closer when the
scheduled service times come up." - ES 06/04 |

"under new
ownership, Jim and the whole gang seem to be running a dealership that you would want to
business with. I have already told
the Motor Company about the good impression they leave me with. They are selling their
bikes at retail and are not making promises that they can't keep. I take delivery of my
1200 Custom from them in about 4 to 6 weeks. May not be the last bike I buy from them.
This
dealer comes across as being "straight up". - PK 7/99
"This dealer has decided to introduce a new "pricing policy". They are
selling all solid color bikes for the price of a two-tone (420 dollars
extra). If you want a two-toned bike you pay 840 extra. Looks like their "true
colors" are emerging. Proceed at your own risk. I wonder how long the
"boys" down their are going to tolerate this." - PK 8/99
"We took over an existing dealership, and we do try to respond to
our customer's feelings on our dealership, and will do so here regarding our
new pricing policy. We do not have the 200+ allocation that other
dealers have in our surrounding areas. Therefore, when we pledged to
send our Technicians to school in Milwaukee, when we tooled up for the Twin
Cam motor - and then again for the new Counter-Balanced motor, doubled our
inventory, remodeled the store, and so many other things that our clients
recognize, we do not have the resources of 200 new Harleys to fund our
efforts. During the Summer Dealer Show in August, 1999, we asked other
dealers and representatives from the Motor Company how other dealers faced
their pricing decisions. We chose, what we thought, was the most fair.
We will not charge one, two, or three thousand over MSRP, regardless of the
market conditions. Hence, we charge the two-tone price. Our
Set-Up and Freight charges reflect set-up and freight; not a source of
raising the price under our customer's nose. On top of all of this,
when we sell a new motorcycle, we extend a 10% discount off of MSRP on all
Parts & Accessories added to that bike. Should the customer decide
to join our local HOG Chapter, it costs them $15 per year, and they are
automatically granted a 10% discount off of MSRP for the term of their
membership in our local chapter. In other words, if they purchase $150
of items in the next year (not hard to do with a Harley), the membership is
paid for by virtue of the discount. How can we be more fair? I
trust this answers any questions regarding the "true intentions"
of the ownership and team. - Bayou Country H-D 1/00 "Stopped by this dealership to get
a price on a FXST, Was told there is a six month wait . Was $5000.00 over
MSRP." - BB 7/01 "I bought a 2003 Road King from Bayou Country HD and I had an accident $1,900.00 worth of damage. I got a check
from the insurance less my deductible, picked up my bike and didn't receive
the 10% discount I was told I was entitled to. I was a member of the Local
Chapter and the National HOG. I think I was burnt out of $190.00." - CM
11/02 "I shopped North Florida, South Alabama, Louisiana, East Texas and
Mississippi for the best Price on a 883 Custom and these guys gave me the
best deal all around. The Sales Manager was very helpful and not pushy in my
decision. This was a totally Positive Deal and will look to them in the
future." - WC 04/03 |

"They are the best. I purchased a new Harley-Davidson
Sportster 1200 Custom Vivid Black in 2001 sold it to a friend in 9/02 on
dealer trade in for a new 2002 FXDWG. The salesman and I spoke about making
this purchase and about two months later I had may Harley. I would tell
everyone to give them a call, they will go out of the way to make you happy
with gifts, coupons and excellent service when needed. All NEW bikes are
$600.00 +MSRP. Always have very clean used bikes on the floor. Charge 5% or
$500 to sell your bike. Even took a friends Honda Shadow in trade on a 2002
Softail Standard, gave him a better trade in than the local Honda dealer
offered!! The sales manager knows 95% of the customers by first name. 10%
discount on all store items and parts (except labor) for local HOG members.
ONE regret ..Why didn't I buy a HD ten years ago!!!" - DC 01/02 |

H-D OF LAKE CHARLES

"They sell their bikes at $2000 above retail + shipping they also
cater to the Rolex boys of the city. If you're buying something and are
checking out and one of the Rolex guys come in you might as well leave
because until she is finish sucking up to him you will be ignored. I have
bought two bikes from her in the last ten years. Just because I believe in
supporting your local business. She has forgotten all the die hard Harley
riders that kept her alive in the lean years." - HP 4/01
"Lake Charles HD continues its trend in "fixing one
thing" and it results in another trip to remedy a problem caused by
the previous visit...the service personnel are the only saving grace this
store has...the sales folks are complete and utter dismal disappointments
to the HD world....arrogant and a waste of my time...I guess you need to
be a rich boy to get their attention, they sure don't seem to like
military." GD 6/01
"Went into this shop because my engine light would not go out. These
guys did not even take the time to start the thing up and listen to it. It
was a Saturday morning I was headed to a run. They didn't care, would not
even give me the time of day. Ok, I asked to go ahead and make an
appointment to get it checked out and get a 10k check up. Believe it or
not I was completely ignored. After waiting 10-15 minutes for some type of
response I left. The following Monday I made an appointment with Cowboy
Harley in Beaumont, TX, 45 minutes away. I figure I would rather take a
little cruise than be ignored by a mechanic that apparently is
independently wealthy and does not need my business." - MB 07/02
"In response to an E-mail, their response on 3/25/03 was - No we do not
sell at MSRP and further we do not sell outside our area without a Lake
Charles address. " - GM 03/03
"We are four bikes traveling from Ft. Worth, TX. to New Orleans, LA. for
Jazz Fest. At 4:00pm on April 28th, 2005 one of our group flipped his bike
dodging a logging truck in Merryville, LA. about 35 miles from Lake
Charles. Population 461. The bike had heavy damage, the rider was in shock
and had a possible broken or dislocated right shoulder. After contacting
H-D of Lake Charles for help, we were told by the owner: "It's 4:20, we
close at 5:00 and there is no way I can keep anyone here after 5:00. Call
us back in the morning." The rider was forced to ride a damaged Road King
30 miles to DeQuincy, LA. Thanks for nothing. This makes my stomach turn."

"Bought my 1999 FLSTS from them. Nice bunch to deal with although
1k over list, still 1k below Jones H-D in Little Rock." - MW 7/99 "$1000 to ~$4000 over MSRP on all bikes. Price
quoted on the following bikes, only included option is the alarm system.
Deuce $21,000; Fatboy $19,500; Night Train $18,000" - JP 4/01
""Most inflated prices probably in the country on new bike prices. Most all
big twins coming in at $19,000 and up. They've been getting around
$26,000.00 for V-Rods. Service and sales staff are second to none. Store is
immaculate and well organized. pretty sales girls and very knowledgeable
mechanics staff. On the service end, they absolutely make a fool of the
guys over in Jackson, MS., who sell at MSRP." - TH 03/02
"I have purchased two bikes from BBHD. First was a 2003
Softail @ $500 over MSRP. The second was a 2005 Sportster @ MSRP. I was
satisfied with both deals. Their prices on other models are very competitive
with other dealers in the area. BBHD sales and service staff are
outstanding. If you have questions, they will answer them. If you would just
like to shop, you can do this without being trailed by a salesperson.
Overall, a good place to do business." - LK 01/05 |

"I am not but 30 min. away form Shreveport HD, but
my business went about 1hr. 45 min. away to Alex. HD. Just because
Shreveport would not sell to me at a shriners discount. Alex. did and they
got my business. They are getting more of us due to prices going sky
high at Shreveport. When the man that owned Wallace HD of Shreveport
sold to the guys that are running it now, it went down hill and the
wonderful environment that was at Wallace's went to a pricey atmosphere at
Shreveport HD. The Lady named "Jan" at Shreveport HD is
very nice, she is a original form Wallace HD, so try not to category her
with the rest, "Sharon" either." - BC 5/00 |

"Great bunch of People! Bought a 2001 Road
King and am very satisfied with the price. Beat MS Coast HD price by
several hundred. My bike came with $1600.00 in extras and was still
cheaper than bone stock from MS Coast HD. Service department is
competent and timely, service prices reasonable." - CC 6/01
"I just wanted to say I was excited to get a Harley dealership in
my home town but after a few visits I found it to be a Stealership. I am
very disappointed thinking I could buy a new bike from these guys, they
only sell their bikes dressed out at an inflated price. I've been looking
for a Fat Boy but the two or three I've checked on were $27,000 plus.
Sorry guys but not this dude, I will be doing all my business with someone
else, a dealer not a stealer. I have been doing my part by telling
everyone I know about your sorry business practices." - DS 6/01
"The owner of this establishment brings new meaning to the word
"greed". Walking through this "Stealership", checking
out their pricing policy leaves me with the impression that this owner
lives on another planet from the one I inhabit. It does not take long to
discover that Harley North Shore is in business to turn a very large
profit. It won't be at my expense. The only dealers to do business with in
south Louisiana are Harley New Orleans or Harley Baton Rouge. It is
unfortunate that I have to drive 45 to 90 miles, one way, depending on the
dealership I choose to go to, rather than frequent the one that is walking
distance from my house. Customers are never offered any kind of break.
This is the type of operation that will only reinforce the belief that the
H-D "hobby" and "lifestyle" is too expensive for the
common man; the one that kept H-D alive years ago, before it was
"cool" to own one. Harley dealers like this one force
people to choose to ride Jap bikes. Actually, the owner is a very nice
guy. He chooses to do business a certain way, I choose to do business
elsewhere." - JA 7/01
"I recently purchased a 2001Hugger Jade with laced wheels for
$7422.00 without sales tax because it was an out of state purchase.
The bike was sold at list price according to the quote. However, they
charged double the freight, and setup charges, and a $150 documentation
fee. They were pleasant to deal with and even after paying Georgia
tax the total sale was $1000 to $1500 less than the dealers in the Atlanta
area." - TS 8/01 "I had a great experience dealing with these
guys! After looking for quite some time in three different states, these
guys beat everybody else's price on a Heritage Soft Tail by nearly $700.00.
I also saved on taxes because it was an out-of-state purchase and they even
threw in some accessories for free. So I'm well satisfied!" - MR 11/01 |
