"This is just a small mall store
where they sell HD clothing and accessories. There are no bikes and no parts
for sale on the premises." - JS 02/03 |

"Visited their new showroom. Very nice atmosphere.
Friendly sales people as well as counter people. Was met immediately by a
very informed sales person. He took my name and number and told me he would
let me know when my preferences would be available. I have visited all the
dealerships within 60 miles of my location (in TN) and this is by far the
friendliest one. I will probably doing business with them when the time
comes that I select the bike I want." - WJ 03/04 |
H-D OF LEXINGTON
Lexington, KY

|
"According to a well-known biker magazine, readers
have sent in letters claiming that this dealer sells bikes at or near
MSRP."
"The sales staff are very unfriendly. They treat Sportster owners
as if they are lower class, but if you own a big twin it is a different
story. They seldom offer any discounts." - PH 04/01
"I went to the Stealership H-D of Lexington, .I went to get a
windshield for my Fatboy. The salesman helping me was very rude and so was
the lady behind the counter. I cant afford to go in there and spend a
thousand dollars a week. I saw other customers in there that they treated
like gold. By the way 02 Fatboy on the floor was priced at 20,950.00.Thats
only 5,000.00 more than retail. If you buy a new bike from them they force
you to buy 1,500.00 in extras or they wont sell it to you." - SB 06/02

LOUISVILLE H-D
Louisville, KY
|
"I recently purchased a new 2000 FLHTC from Harley
of Louisville. The place is owned by a guy named Phil Campbell, and he is
a pretty straight up dude. The Dealership is one of the largest I've seen,
for this area, and the selection of bikes is unbelievable, both New and
used. The prices are above MSRP (I'm guessing maybe 8 to 10% but the bikes
have accessories and chrome on them), and he'll try to get anything you're
looking for, (but he'll make no promises). He has no list, and everyone is
welcome. Be aware that this isn't a bargain basement operation, but you
can rest assured that Everyone is treated the same. When I left with my
new ride, I had a smile on my face and some new friends I feel will be
around for years to come. H-D of Louisville is definitely worth a look see
when looking for a bike, besides looking doesn't cost anything, and you
can at least set on the bikes." - B 1/00 "I've recently bought my second bike from Louisville H-D, and I'm
sure I will buy my future bikes from them. Many of my friends have bought
4 or 5 bikes there. Phil, Tanya and the rest of the staff have treated me
fairly and honestly. They do mark up their prices, but the bikes are very
well equipped, and they treat you right when you trade in your old bike.
I've been in many H-D dealerships across the U.S. and with a few
exceptions, Louisville's prices are in line with other "Stocking
dealers". It's a pleasure to go into the store. They always
have a complete inventory, and I've encountered no problems with the
service department at all." - GB 8/01
"Parts people were friendly. About 100 or so new bikes on the floor.
Big-twins and Sportsters were going from $3-5k over MSRP with very little
to no accessories on them." - TH 10/01
"I had an excellent experience buying my Ultra Classic. I had sold my
Roadking out of state and had to wait for the check to clear before
picking up my Ultra. Louisville H-D had Ultra detailed and off the floor
to keep the wanna bees away from it. Price was very reasonable for the
Ultra considering all of the accessories added. I would rate them A+!" -

"Stopped in during the 2003 KY HOG Rally. Lot's of bikes on the floor,
but they have huge mark-ups. Several thousand dollars and that's for a
stock bike -- no extras. My starter solenoid on my Heritage was starting
to act up and since I had ridden to KY from Iowa for the rally, I thought
I would ask them to check it out. The service manager or writer (not sure
which) said they didn't have time to do anything yet, since it was lunch
time and could I come back later. When I discussed "later" they said
they would "maybe have time to see what was wrong, but they wouldn't fix
it that day." I explained that I was out of town and concerned about
getting stranded and they didn't care. Told me to park it on a hill and
push start it if I had trouble." - RS 06/03

SILLS H-D
Paducah, KY

|
"Has waiting list for new bikes, $1000 deposit required to get on
the list, about a 1 year wait (they keep the interest). They mark up
their new bikes $1729 over MSRP, this will be going up to $2003 for the
100th Anniversary bikes (how cute). They try to sell only in their local
area. They are also a Yamaha dealer and needless to say there are many
more Yamahas on the showroom floor then there are Harleys." - JS 4/01
"Bought a Buell Blast from them for under MSRP. Great people to
deal with. They have stayed in contact with us even after the sale. Would
recommend them to anyone." - MC 7/01
"I have had Sills for a dealer now almost 37yrs. I have always received
the beat service any were. I have never had a problem with parts or
service. Staff as always been helpful. I have bought Harley's and other
brand of bikes and have never been mistreated. Yes they ask if your name
is in the computer so they can be sure you get your 10% discount if you
are a HOG. member or AMA or other organized motorcycle club. So If you
have a problem with service go to the owner he will be glad to talk to you
about it. Most people that get on the net to complain cannot face people
with there problems." - AV 01/02
"Depending on what they've got ordered previously there will be a
wait... mine is 6 months for a '03 FLHT. If someone backs out on an '02,
they'll call me. $1000 deposit, MSRP + $729 for freight and set-up
(they've dropped the $1000 over, that's *why* there's a waiting list!). I
went to the counter and asked if they sold out of state... I'm 60 miles
south in TN. The girl called the owner over and he got me a salesman.
They do like to sell within 100 miles so they'll get your service and
parts business... can you blame them? Great folks, AFAIC." - RE 01/02
"I recently bought an '02 FLHTCI from Sills and can report a
totally positive experience. This is my first Harley and I had heard
lots of negative comments about "attitude" from Harley dealers in general.
The salesperson who assisted me answered all my questions and went out of
his way to make me feel comfortable with my purchase. The day I
ordered my bike, I was introduced to all the crew working in parts and
service. While I was anticipating delivery, I would stop by the
dealership and ask questions about accessories etc.. I always got good
information, everyone was always helpful. When my bike was delivered, it
was clean, the accessories I ordered were installed, and it has performed
flawlessly. After 32 years with a "foreign brand", my only
regret about buying a Harley from Sills is that I didn't do it sooner." -
JR 02/02
"We were on vacation in KY and stopped by Sills HD to pick up some
shirts for friends. When we got back home one of the shirts didn't fit our
friend. They called Sills and sent the shirt back and Sills sent a more
expensive shirt and paid the shipping also. If this is a sign of the rest
of the operation I give them 5 stars." - JH 10/02
"I found Sills via the internet and negotiated my deal with the owner
via email. It was as painless a procedure as they come. I bought a Buell
there for $1200 less than what I could have paid for it here in the
Memphis area. That made it worth the 140 mile trip! When I got there,
the bike was checked, gassed and ready to go. In less than 1 hour, I had
signed off on it, loaded it and was headed home. While there I was treated
very courteously by everyone there from the F&I guy to the parts & service
men. For a town the size of Paducah, the place was pretty busy for 11am
on a Sat. I expect that is because the place has a great reputation all
around. This is my first bike, but when I’m ready for a new one, I will
probably return to Sills." - DB 12/02

H-D OF PIKEVILLE
Pikeville, KY

|
"So far I have been treated very good by this
dealership. Service has gone above a beyond to take care of all my
problems. dealership sells HD's at MSRP. on a waiting list. very few if
every any bikes on the floor. I have never dealt with manager but several
"biker friends" feels they have been snubbed. 10% discount is
available to HOG, past bike purchasers. My over all experience has been
very good and I would recommend the service department." - GT 8/01
"The sales personnel and prices at H-D of Pikeville were
first rate when I bought my motorcycle from them. They didn't have the
bike I wanted when I first visited, so they put my name on their "to call"
list and called me when they were notified that a bike like I wanted would
be delivered. I paid $1000 down, and the bike arrived at the dealership
in about two weeks. On the day I made my down payment, the salesman went
through the paperwork with me line by line to make sure I understood the
charges. They charged MSRP for the bike, freight, tax and license. There
were absolutely NO surprises. I bought the bike over six months ago, and
their communication with me has been good since. I have received some
"freebies" from them and also get a 10% discount on anything in their
store. I recommend them highly." - MH 02/03 |

PRESTONSBURG H-D
Prestonsburg, KY

"Would like to give kudos the the folks at the
Prestonsburg HD. On our way from Michigan to North Carolina my hubby's
clutch cable broke about 1 mile from the dealership (we were on our way
there for repair!). They sent out a truck/trailer and put his bike on the
rack as soon as the mechanic was back from lunch. Billed us for .8 hours of
labor plus the cable kit, I didn't see a charge for the tow. Had us back on
the road in good time for a very low cost. Thanks guys!" - KD 08/04 |

"I just purchased a 2002 FLSTFI at Radcliff H-D. I
bought the bike at MSRP after being on a waiting list for a year and a
half. The staff are friendly and courteous. I would recommend this
dealer to friends and have." - ER 02/02 "I have
worked at a few dealers in KY and in OH and I have to be honest HD of
Radcliff is 1 of the best as far as making sure the customer is taking
care of from the Management level .The management doesn't push the Techs
to rush any job (but now that's been a couple of years since I worked
there butt they where great). Just the owner is really strange towards his
employees butt as long as the customer is taken care of that is what is
important. I hope they are still keeping up the great customer relations
since I have been bragging on them and their techs since leaving there." -
RR 10/02 "I brought a 2002 Road King Classic at MSRP.
The salesman was very helpful, he got me just what I wanted. I was on the
waiting list for about 7-8 months. I did not think that was long at all
considering I pay MSRP for the bike and got the color I was wanting. I
WILL be buying my next bike from them when that time comes. Excellent
service also!" - CB 02/03 |
