ERNIE
WILLIAMS LTD.
Algona, IA

"Ernie Williams Ltd. is in my opinion an excellent dealer.
They're small, so they don't always have exactly what you might be looking
for, but they're fair, honest, and friendly and their prices are some of
the best I've found within hundreds of miles." - TG 7/01
"After a ten day run-around from Chicago HD I called Ernie
Williams LTD in Algona Iowa. In ten minutes time I had a MSRP + freight
and set-up deal on a 2002 Road King Classic. I flew up from Springfield
Missouri the next day and was out the door in less than an hour with my
new Road King. These guys are honest, and straight forward. I would
recommend this dealer to anyone looking for a fair deal on a new
Harley." - BO 8/01
"Visited their store after friends suggested it. Courteous, clean and
sells for MSRP!!! Ordered a 2002 and had it 2 months later. Sales staff
is wonderful! Picked up the bike, was treated to lunch and they not only
gave me 10% off accessories, they gave it to my dad and brother, too!!! I
would say this is one of the best dealers in Iowa. I visited other larger
dealers in the state and was treated like I didn't exist...these guys
treated me great!!! They've got my business for sure!" - JH 11/01
"I would highly recommend calling them I bought a 2002 flhtci from
them. I called them up we agreed on a price (about $4,000 to $6,000
cheaper than in the St. Louis or Kansas City Area). I sent them a check
and the Harley Application and two phone calls confirming information and
I went and picked it up. The staff was great especially their service
department, they installed a rack on my tour pack even though they were
done for the day. By the way the sales staff really made it a pleasure to
do business with them." - BK 08/02
"Ernie Williams H-D dealership is a top shelf establishment. I traded
my older Superglide in on an 02' night train. Both the trade-in price and
new sales price were fair. The new price was MSRP plus a reasonable
set-up charge. The price was $1,000 to $3,000 less than other
dealerships. I drove 300 miles in a snow storm to buy from them. The
salesperson and those assisting were all very professional and I felt as
if they all took a no nonsense approach. I also noticed that they treated
ALL the customers very well. Not just the ones buying bikes or
accessories. I would recommend checking with them first when buying a
Harley. A very cool place to shop or look around." - JK 02/03

"Stopped by the other day, nice big dealer, but very high priced.
LOTS of bike for sale, and I can see why. Most bikes were at least $4,000
over list. Lots of bikes had custom paint and chrome stuff already
installed, making the retail price even higher. The parts man was friendly
and helpful. The bike sales staff had a take it or leave it attitude. I
left it." - SB 7/01
"Went to trade in my 1998 Harley Ultra with 53,000 plus miles.
Price not even worth considering. $3,900. to high. Was told
same as two other Harley dealerships I've gone to in Iowa. I have to
many miles on it." - NB 8/01
"I stopped in on my way through town. The parts and clothing depts.
were nice and helpful. Can't comment about the service dept. because
I didn't need service. Nor can I comment about the bike sales staff (they
do have a lot of bikes on the floor) but after a glance at a few of the
tags I was glad I didn't want to buy a bike. Then again if I was too lazy
to shop around or didn't mind paying $3-4000 extra for $500 worth of
chrome that I really didn't want, sure I'd buy a bike from them." - TH
07/02
"After calling many places about a Buell Blast Zylstra said they would
match the price on one from the Rider's Edge program and it would include
the factory warranty. Went in looked over the bike and agreed to it.
Started the paper work on Wednesday and was returning on Friday to
finalize and pick up the bike. Within two days they added on setup,
freight, and a $200 administrative fee. Also when they got out the
odometer statement it had 200 more miles than what they told us it would
two days before. Needless to say we walked out and took our business
somewhere else. They tacked on close to $1000 dollars with fees that the
sales person has promised would not be on the sale. Stay completely away
from this dealer. They have businesses in Ames, IA Cherokee IA, one in MN
and one in IL." - SS 02/04

"They have a brand new store on Hwy 30 East.
I have bought myself two new Harleys at their old store. A 1990 and
the one I have now. My wife bought three. Two used ones, one new
one. The one she has now. I went in to trade for a new one. They were
3 grand more then I wanted to pay. Was told by the salesman I had three
things going against me. 1. My bike isn't a Twin Cam. 2. He has
four used dressers on the floor. 3. My bike has over 50,000 miles.
Went back to dealer to see if he would come down in price. He did.
I went up, but still haven't come to an agreement. That least he is
trying. I have to give him credit for that. No luck on getting a
new 2002 Harley. To high in price as I will ride mine another year and look
at other brands." - NB 10/01 "Purchased a 2002 883 Sportster from
these guys, and they are a great group of people to deal with. Prices are
about 900 over MSRP, but they had the bike in stock, and were very
interested in making a deal. (I should add that the cost of the 500-1000
mile service is part of the $900) I need to get the bike lowered and they
are basically giving me labor for free (their normal is only 48 an hour, way
cheaper than the dealership in MY town) plus, they put on a few of the
accessories I wanted before I even came in for free. We had to drive from
about an hour and a half away, and ended up getting there at 6:05...the shop
closes at 6. They acted like it was no big problem, and several people had
stayed just to help us out. Easy to work with, did all of the numbers on the
phone prior to going there. (Dealership in my town would not even talk on
the phone about what their prices were) Great shop, have some 2002 in
stock!" - BF 05/02 |

METRO H-D

"This is one of the best dealers I've ever done
business with. Sells at MSRP with discounts on all parts ordered with new
bike. 10% off everything for customers that purchase bike from them. Jarod
Bowman promised my '00 by March and it arrived in Feb. Corey is the shop
foreman and a great guy. Everything on time and done with pride. Iv'e been
riding Harleys for 42 years, just moved to this area 2 years ago and have
been treated like they knew me forever!" - BP 5/00 "We have purchased three new bikes all at
MSRP. They offer a 20 percent discount on accessories. Very friendly and
knowledgeable people. Their main concern is to get everyone riding that is
interested." - CJ 11/01
"I had the good fortune of using Metro HD
during a road trip. I was in need of an oil change and I had no appointment.
The service manager was extremely accommodating and friendly, as was the
service technician. The work was done to my satisfaction in a minimal amount
of time. I would not hesitate to use them again in the future." - LW 08/02 |

"I just had a wonderful experience at C&C Cycle in
Chariton, IA. They are my local Harley dealer, at least as local as I can
get. I took my 99 1200 custom Sportster in to have new tires put on and
exchange my old dinged up lower front sliders (bottom part of my front
forks) for new chromed ones. They made a mistake and installed the wrong
sliders or whatever they are called, put the front end all the way back
together and THEN they realized they were the wrong ones and wouldn't work
with my front brake calipers. They had to order the new ones and because I
rode 45 miles to have my bike serviced intending to ride it home, the head
mechanic after apologizing for their mistake gave me the keys to a brand new
1200 Custom 2003 100th anniversary Sportster. He said, "take it for the
weekend and treat it just like it was yours. Now that is what I call
service!" - PW 11/02 |

"Definitely worth the drive, saved $1000 buck over local
dealer. Paid MSRP +TTL and they threw in two t-shirts, key ring & HD Roast &
Roll Coffee Pack. No games & 20% off clothing & accessories. John was great
to work with and I ended up getting a 4 year extended warranty plus $500
worth of accessories for the same price as I would have paid for the bike in
Ames." - MB 04/05 "I was so impressed with the conversation I had
with the salesman over the phone I drove 2000 miles round trip to do
business. The gentleman that sold me my 2005 Screamin eagle Electra glide 2
Classic rolled out then red carpet for me! The parts man there was excellent
along with the service dept. person who did the diagnostics on the race
tuner. The sales person there took time to offer the best application for my
bike which was far better my own ideas. I do all of my business with them
via mail and saved thousands of dollars by taking this long ride from
Alabama to Iowa. I got to many extras to list. I also made friends with
these people on a personal basis. If every Harley dealership were as good as
Cedar River Harley, there would be no reason to shop anywhere else in the
U.S." - RC 12/05 |

"Excellent dealer-very good service in shop &
stands behind the work done. Likes to take care of his repeat customers,
but mainly FCFS basis at MSRP + prep & shipping. Does not add
accessories unless requested by customer. 10% discount to HOG. local
chapter members. Willing
to go the extra mile !" - RH 1/00 "Went to trade in my 1998 H-D Ultra
Electra Glide with 53,000 plus miles. The trade in price wasn't even
worth considering. I told the salesman so and he said,
"With out sounding rude. Good, I don't want your bike anyway,
has to many miles on it." Went into how many people
he has on his list that want a new 2002 Harley. In fact the 2003
list is a book, there are so many people who want one." - NB 8/01
"These people are a pleasure to do business with. They serviced two of my
Harleys not purchased there, and I was just able to buy my first from
them... a 2003 Fatboy. I bought it at MSRP. They sell all of their bikes at
MSRP + Freight and Setup ($600 total). They do not usually have many new
bikes on the floor because of their fair pricing. Owner and Sales Staff are
very nice and accommodating. Highly Recommended!" - SB 09/02
"Cherokee HD was just purchased by Zylstra H-D of Ames IA. Only 2 former
employees got hired by Zylstra. Cherokee HD used to be a MSRP dealer.
Zylstra is known for his huge prices." - JR 02/04 "Zylstra Harley-Davidson bought out the former owners of
Cherokee Harley-Davidson in 2004. From the start Zylstra did everything
they could to drive the loyal customers of Cherokee Harley-Davidson away.
First, they only retained one employee from the old store. As a result, the
customers did not know anyone in the store anymore. Then, they shut down
the local HOG group. Now, thirty months later Zylstra closed the
Harley-Davidson store in Cherokee on July 31, 2006. |

"We sell our bikes at MSRP plus tax, license, doc,
freight and prep. We are currently sold out of all 2000's but we have a
very extensive backup list. Eric is the bike sales person to contact. We
try to sell locally but we do sell out of our area." - Hawk-I
Harley-Davidson 10/99 "Wife and I are on a mission to order a 2002
Softail, hitting all the dealers in the area. Walk into Hawkeye at 4:30 PM
on a Wednesday night (open till 8pm). Stood right next to the meager
selection of bikes for 30 minutes, should have been obvious we wanted
something. Nothing doing, nobody spoke to us, we left, as did another couple
that looked to be pretty interested. Only new bikes on the floor were
seriously burdened down with expensive accessories. Only the Sportys were at
reasonable prices. How do the pay the bills??" - TK 9/01
"This dealership is the worst I've ever experienced. I
didn't buy from them because they don't have many bikes and really didn't
want to answer my questions. They are the closest dealer to me so I had
them do my 5k service. They were supposed to call when the bike was done.
Two weeks later, I called asking what the deal was. They said the bike had
been done a long time ago. I went to pick it up which is a half hour
drive. When I got there the bike wouldn't start. There was two hours left
for the service dept but all mechanics were gone. A week later I call again
and turns out they left a tool in my bike which didn't allow it to start.
Two trips after getting the bike, I lose the clutch on the interstate (I had
to stall it to stop it) while going to take a final exam which I was almost
late to after getting a ride. The mechanic forgot to tighten the clutch
nut. They wouldn't put the spark plugs I wanted in for the 5k service.
They adjusted the carb way too rich and it fouled them quick. After getting
the bike, it has stalled several times and takes 10 minutes trying to get it
to run again. After refueling sometimes it won't start. The primary
developed a leak after I got it back. I sent it back for them to fix, and
now 2,000 miles later, it's leaking again. The manager offered me nothing
for my troubles except 10% on 1 item when I complained (I had to pay full
price for the service). I get that for being a hog member, so I never took
him up on it. I found out only 1 mechanic had been to Harley school out of
7, and I think he quit. I suggest everyone keep away from this stealer." -
JD 05/03 "Great service, helpful and personable staff. One
gentleman answered my son\'s many questions about the history of H-D
cycles." - TF 10/05 |

"We have been in business in the Quad-Cities,
Iowa/Illinois, under Wiebler's Harley-Davidson for ten years. Recently
moving to our new location in Davenport, Iowa. We are a full service
H-D/Buell dealership. As for bike sales, we try to sell in our area only,
require a deposit, and about a one year waiting list, for H-D's. We
usually have a nice selection of used bikes coming and going all the time.
Please stop by our new location at 5320 Corporate
Park Drive, Davenport, Iowa,(I-74 & 53rd St.) We are sure to have
something of interest to you." - Wiebler's H-D 3/00 "On our way through area after a late
afternoon lunch break our kick stand spring broke so we stopped in. They
didn't have one in stock but took the bike into their shop, took a spring
from a new bike and replaced mine with it. No charges, refused a tip. What
can you say. Bikes for Sale at the time were just over MRSP." - PG 11/01
"I don't know about their new bike prices, but the owner and the service
department are great. I had a flat about 60 miles south of them on a
Saturday at 4PM. The closest dealer said they were closing and they couldn't
do anything till Monday. I called Wiebler's from the yellow pages and they
put me on hold to call dealers nearer to me, and when they couldn't get
anyone the owner came and picked me up, and the service department stayed
open on Sat. night to take care of the flat. They are about 150 miles from
where I live, but the next bike I buy is coming from them. Here's a tip when
looking for a dealer: use one (like Wiebler's) that sponsors a flat track
racer....that will tell you right off the bat that the dealer is a bike
lover not a money lover." - TK 10/02 |

"I was traveling from yellow stone through Des Moines when my front
tire became flat. It was Saturday night labor day weekend. Sunday
morning I called the owner at home to help me and he got a mechanic to
come in with him within one hour. I was incredibly grateful and tried to
give him a tip, but he would not accept it. They are absolutely wonderful
people!" - JH 9/01
"On my way to Sturgis, I developed a bad rocker cover leak, I stopped
at Zook's very early, only the owner was there. Mr. Zook fixed the leak
himself. I was on my way in less than 2 hours. They have a new
building just off I-80, very nice. I highly recommend this dealer." - SB

"My husband and I had gone down to Des Moines to look at a used Sporty,
and found ourselves in Zooks. From the moment we in, we were treated like
family. All of the people there are terrific. We told our salesman that
what we really wanted was a Superglide and figured we would have to wait
several months to get one. To our surprise, we were told that they would
have one coming in 3 weeks, and even better, they were asking only a few
hundred more that MSRP. When we explained that this would be our first
bike, they even offered to pay for our motorcycle safety class. When we
went to sign the papers, we were impressed with how interested every
department was in helping us. Because we did not have our licenses yet,
they trailered the bike up to us. The guy who brought it up to us put it
in the garage for us, and went over all of the bike with us again. When
we decided to purchase a smaller bike for me two weeks later, the first
thing I did was to call Zooks. Unfortunately, they did not have any 883's
in stock, but my salesman helped me to hammer out a deal with another
dealership on the bike I purchased even thought it was not his sale or
dealership. That is true service! We will do all of our service with
Zooks!" - BF 05/02
"Friendly staff. Clothing and accessories seemed to be in line
with the catalog prices. No prices on bikes though." - TH 06/02
"I noticed on the dealer Zook's webpage that they had bikes. Called up
and talked the salesman and told him who I was, where I was calling from
(Omaha) and what I was looking for (black 2003 Softail standard). He said
that they just rolled one out on the floor. This was late Friday
afternoon, September 13. Told him my wife and I would drive over to Des
Moines the next morning. After talking some more he asked why I was not
buying in Omaha, and I told him the Omaha dealer has no bikes. After some
more small talk he said see you tomorrow, and we hung up. Next day wife
and I drove 2 1/2 hours to Des Moines and located dealer. When I
approached him and told him I was there from Omaha to look at the Softail,
he turned white and after stammerering for 3-4 minutes finally blurted out
" I can not sell you a bike-the owner instituted a 50 mile radius policy
for new bike sales on August 1." Stunned, I asked why he did not tell that
to me on the phone and save me a 2 and 1/2 hour drive. I also asked him
why they go to trouble of having a webpage if they only sell local. No
answer except more stammering. As I got my wife to leave he did try to
sell me a bike -one all loaded up with 1300$ of dealer added junk. Of
course the owner was conveniently "out for the day". These idiots cost me
a tank of gas and 6 hours in the car. Avoid them at all costs." - DT 09/02
"I have been looking for over a year and finally saved enough money to
buy the new scoot that I always wanted (FXDL). Went in the Zook’s (local
dealer for me) and talked with the salesman that I have been working
with. Told him that a friend of mine could get me a 100th Lowrider at
sticker from C & C in Chariton. So I asked if that would be possible for
me to do the same here locally. I was asked to get a purchase agreement to
prove that one could be bought for that and he would take it to Zook for a
better price. I told him to make the phone call it was not my duty to do
his job. After leaving in a poor mood over the situation, I called C & C
and they did not have any more for the year coming so my bud told me to
get hold of Clinton H-D in Clinton. Talked with Clinton H-D on the phone,
told me about a 2 tone for July with alarm, let me know that he would
happily sell for sticker and all I had to do is send the deposit for the
bike and it was mine. Zook’s never called me back to let me know one way
or the other so off went the deposit to Clinton H-D and in July I will
finally have the Anniversary Low Rider in my possession. I was treated
badly in the negotiation for the bike and will happily try on my clothing
and look for chrome goodies there but will not spend 1$ for his ego. I
remember when he was starving and was glad to sell me parts, accessories
and clothing but he has now forgotten the peons like me. If you want
convenience in Des Moines metro area and a 10% overcharge go to Zook’s if
you can wait I would highly recommend the Clinton H-D in Clinton IA and
C&C in Chariton. Both were friendly and helpful to me." - AS 04/03

was done. Got several calls in the next couple weeks to make sure everything
was going OK with the new bike. They will get my business again." - TK 11/02 |

"This dealership was a huge disappointment. I stopped for
an oil change while on a road trip. Being the only customer in the shop, I
felt that 45 minutes was a bit to long to get waited on. When I finally did
get waited on by the only person running the shop, I told him that I was on
the road, a HOG member, and that I needed an oil change and was willing to
wait for a slot to open up. I was told in no uncertain terms, that they

"Very nice dealership, they will sell to
anyone, but the price on a new 2002 Ultra was $23000. My friend had
some service work done and on the way home the bike stalled. It was after
closing, but they were there in 10 minutes. The owner brought a truck
and trailer and one of the mechanics brought a new Ultra for him to ride
home. His bike was fixed the next morning and they delivered it to his
house, over a 100 miles away. He was VERY satisfied." - SB 9/01
"Excellent dealership, tops in customer service, all
reasonable parts
available immediately. Buell sales manager is top notch." - KN 05/03
"I was very impressed by the way I was treated at H-D/ Buell cycle center. I
did not have to wait long at all on a weekday (MAYBE 3 minutes tops!). The
salesman that I spoke with, was very easy to talk to and great to work with.
He offered MSRP right away when I told him what I was looking for. I put a
deposit down, and away I went to get my financing through a local bank. It
turned out that I got a better deal with a used '02 sporty from a guy I
knew, and did not buy the bike from W-loo H-D. I went back & talked with the
salesman & got ALL of my deposit back, with a smile too!" - SW 03/04
"Awesome sales help and worked with me to get financed exactly in the
payment range I needed. Had called them with what I was looking for and
price range and they had just gotten a bike in that fit. And what do they
go and do, hold the bike with no deposit or reserve money There were some
things on the bike I needed and they changed it, no charge. Wanted a
leather jacket, got it, no questions asked and even the one I chose. Got
the dealer shirt of course and another 45 buck one thrown in. Oh, and they
surprised me too. About 2 weeks after I had the bike, a package shows up at
my door from them. I open it up and here is a wood/metal plaque that is
engraved with my name and my bike info and it is congratulating me on
getting my Harley. They NEVER made mention of this little surprise, which I
think is really cool, talk about pleasant surprises." - CW 09/05 |

"Great dealership! They own 2 other
dealerships so if they don't have it in stock at one the others might. Does
sell bikes out of state, I live in Illinois,[140 miles from them], and I
have bought my last 4 Harleys from them. One bike I had to wait 5 weeks for,
the others were their when I called. Big bikes are about a grand over retail
but that's not bad if you want to ride today! Also has a great service
department!" - SC 9/01 "When I purchased my Deuce I priced four dealers. I
contacted each dealer by phone first. Waukon's salesman quoted a price that
was $2000 over MSRP. Obviously I did not do business there, and will not
even contact them when I but again in the future." - JM 01/04
"Searching for a Buell I contacted many dealers. I was offered a price from
one dealer and quoted it to Waukon HD. They matched the price, and the bike
they offered had 1/3 of the miles and a few extras. They may ask a higher
price but quote them a better deal and they will work with you. The entire
environment was very friendly." - SS 02/04
"I just purchased a new Sportster from this dealership. I have never
received such wonderful customer service! They are honest, friendly, and
willing to go the extra mile for their customers. I was treated great by
all employees at the dealership from the salesman to the financial person to
the retail clerks. This was an outstanding transaction! I would highly
recommend this dealership to anyone looking to buy a bike. I traveled a
couple of hours to buy here and it was worth it!" - MS 11/04 |
