ROSSITER'S H-D
Bradenton, FL

"I have been in Rossiters H-D several times for parts. It is usually more
miss than hit. The clincher came recently when I lost an end cap to my H-D
grips, which fell off somewhere while riding. The person behind the parts
counter told me I would have to purchase a new set of H-D grips for
$57. Off to Brandon H-D who ordered the end cap, after taking the time
to do a parts search, for about $9.00. (Brandon H-D service and parts
dept. are both good. The bike is done as promised, and they don't gripe
about doing warranty work even if not purchased at the dealership). By the
way I too attempted to support local H-D dealership Rossiters when
purchasing new, but not to the tune of their philosophy of "whatever the
market will bear". Yep, I went to Jim's H-D in St. Petersburg, FL. and
purchased a new 2002 Road King,@ MSRP. 10% credit to purchase leathers for
my wife and I, and best of all the bike was delivered with all the extras
paid for exactly where they belonged." - CB 02/04 "I have bought 3
bikes from this store since 2001. Have had no problems with staff or
owner. Have fixed any issue I have had. Owner/Manager is down to earth.
Bigger store is on the way. I am sure she will have a great place. Store
inventory has always been limited due to its size." - JF 03/05 |

"Salesman says that they will sell me a Sportster at MSRP if I buy
$800 in accessories. Salesman also says that they will sell big
twins for MSRP plus $1000 in accessories. Total out-the-door price
on a 2002 Sportster was quoted just shy of $7500." - AG 7/01
"This is a great dealership. I ordered my 2005 EG Classic over the phone
from Pat. He put up with my weekly checking until in the 9th week the
bike arrived. I gave them a date on when I would like to pick it up and
it was ready and waiting. Now is the time for the 1000 mile service.
They are supporting my schedule and squeezing me in. I'm from the Cocoa,
FL area about 150 miles away. Great Dealer." - ML 06/05"You
can search all over the state, but you will not find anyone as helpful,
informative, and easy going as Fletchers. They sell at MSRP and have all
the bikes priced out the door!" - JW 09/05 |

"Good bunch of folks there. Bike prices at market
rates, like it or not, but parts, sales and service are excellent. They
don't forget you after you walk out the door. Haven't had any major work
done, yet, but free installation on tire purchases. Discounts for a year
when you buy a new bike. Discounts for local HOG members, as well. A real
nice touch is the free bike pick-up and shuttle service they provide and
bike detailing after servicing. Sweet." - SO 1/00
"There are a great bunch of people running this dealership from
the always helpful Parts Department to the excellent Service Department.
Parts and Service have always gone out of their way to be friendly,
helpful, and professional. Only complaint I have with this dealership is
their markup on new bikes. Right now the markup seems to be about $4K over
MSRP on BTs. That's bone stock and doesn't include "dealer
prep". I don't have a problem with a business making a profit,
however, there is already a hefty profit built into MSRP and I believe $4K
over is excessive. Problem is that this dealership and the next closest
dealership (Naples, FL) has the same owner. Most of us know what it's like
to try to buy out of area; so I'm stuck with HD of Fort Myers and just
glad that their Parts and Service make up for the Sales rip-off." -

"Needed to replace my 99 Fatboy which Hurricane Wilma's storm surge
wrecked. Dealership had ~140 new 05 & 06 HD/Buell bikes plus ~60 used
bikes in their inventory. Out the door price for an 05 FLTSF was "just
under $20 grand." Out the door prices for new 06 bikes varied from 2 to 3
grand over MSRP. Conclusion: this place remains a Stealership." - SS

"Just in case you haven't already heard this, Ft.
Lauderdale H-D is now owned by Daytona H-D, is a stealer! Went to scope
out the 2000's, they had a bone-stock FLSTF, lists for 15+, for (no
shit) $23,000 !!!" - TT 1/00"I am very pleased with the relationship I have with this dealer.
They aren't perfect-who is-but they seem to be genuinely trying to provide
quality sales and service. They carry a large inventory, lots of late
models that are priced up there, but the other dealers in the area are
either the same or make you buy parts & accessories. My current year
bike cost $500. over MSRP. They treated me right and they have a service
manager that knows his stuff." - DD 5/01
"Just went to their tent sale blowout today. FXD's were at
$17,990.00 (over 50% higher than MSRP), this was their sale price,
insane!!! It appears that they are $3000.00 higher than anyone in
the state for FXD's. I pity the fools that purchase a bike
there." - MK 6/01
"I entered into sincere negotiations on a late model bike.
Several e-mails and telephone calls back and forth resulted in an agreed
upon price. Then the surprise, a call from the "sales
manager", the price went up by 2K. As the saying goes, I
was born at night, but not last night. Happy end to the story is I
brought private. Bottom line, I'd avoid Ft. Lauderdale HD." -

"In a trip to Florida, where I was looking to relocate to be able to
ride year round, I visited the showroom at the Ft Lauderdale H-D. I asked
for a datasheet or a brochure for a Road King. The salesman said that
they couldn’t get literature from H/D and it was on backlog, but did say
that he would mail me one and it might take a week. Didn’t he just say
that they couldn’t get catalogs ?? I’m going to buy a bike for close to
$20,000 and I can’t get a catalog from this place and it never did come.
I went to another dealer and they not only gave me a catalog, but the
massive H/D accessories catalog and supplement as well. Not following his
word of sending me a simple catalog said a lot. Needless to say, I didn’t
buy my bike there." - PP 03/02
"Took a trip up there with a mate to buy a used, city of Ft Lauderdale
police scoot. Per a phone call chat with one of their salesmen, they told
us they had two stock reconditioned bikes available each with under 9K
miles. Upon our arrival there two days later, there were none of these
bikes to be found, but they did have two repainted and accessorized police
bikes each with more than 15K miles at much higher than previously
advertised prices. They had little HD 2003 stock on the floor but had
more than 6 custom $30+K chopper for sale." - SS 01/03
"I was going to buy a 2001 Dyna Wide Glide. I asked how much they were
asking and they said 19000.I said no way that's to much for that bike. So
I offered them 17500 witch was a thousand over what the bike retailed for
in 2001.They said alright and I put 500 down on the bike to hold till I
got my financing. Then they called me after I was approved and the price
was 19000 again. I told them forget it I will go somewhere else. They lied
and told me the bike had a 4000 dollar paint job on it , I found out the
color in 2001 didn't cost anymore than any other color. They also lied
about what my payment and interest rate would be. I wouldn't send my worst
enemy there. I had a friend ask them about the same bike and they told him
they were selling it for 19999 I don't know how they stay in business." -

"I purchased a 2003 Heritage Softail Anniversary silver and black with 800
miles. My salesman would not budge on the $22,000 price. He told me I
was buying a collector edition and could not lose money. It was worth
every dollar. Ten months later, I think I would like an Ultra. I went to
HD Pompano and the salesperson there told me "You paid way too much for
your bike, I can only offer you $14,100 as a trade. Where did you but
it?" I told her. Same owner, different location. I went to talk to my
salesman and he confirmed the bike is only worth $14,500. When I asked
why I was losing almost $1,000 a month, he couldn't answer me." - JZ 10/04
"This occurred at the dealership on 2871 North Federal Hwy. I purchased
an 04 Fatboy in March. Salespeople were friendly, fair, and honest. My
issue is with the service department. I took the bike in for the 1000
mile service, service rep asked if I had and questions or had observed
anything on the bike. I mentioned that there seemed to be a bit of "play"
on the clutch lever, which I believed to be part of the break-in. When I
went to pay, they charged me $30.00 for clutch adjustment. When I
complained and mentioned it was an unfair charge because it should be part
of the break-in and first service, they said it was not. I have not taken
the bike there since. Interestingly, the Pompano store has the same owner
but much better service." - SL 12/04 |

"I was stationed at Ft. Walton before coming here to
England The service I had received was courteous from the staff and I'd
come to know a few there well enough to ride with. Anyhow, I recently tore
my sporty down for an overhaul and found that they broke a stud off of my
timing plate when they install a new cam a few years ago and did not
replace it. I know they didn't because there was no place for it to go. I
know it's no use crying over spilled milk, but it feels like a friend has
stabbed you in the back. I guess what I'm trying to say is... Don't let
these dealers take you for granted." - DC 1/00
"Just picked up a '02 FXD. Very friendly sales staff, didn't feel
pressured at any point. Just above MSRP." - CW 10/01
"Excellent
dealership! Honest and a dealer of their word. One phone call and got to
order what I wanted at just about MSRP and was not pressured to buy any
accessory packages etc. Unlike other local dealers who take you down that
road. The Assistant Manager is great and a pleasure to work with. I have
to drive about 8 hours to get my bike and it will be well worth the
drive. I highly recommend giving them a call for a straight no b.s. deal.
You can't go wrong. My bike is also coming in on time as promised." - TR

No pressure and very helpful. They treat you like you are in their living

list. Treated me fair, even held the bike for me with just a credit card
number over the phone. Could not ask for better service." - MG 04/02
"Drove 50 miles with the intention of ordering a Softtail Deuce because
of all the good comments and recommendations I saw on this page. First, I
walk in and the salesman politely asked if he could help me. They happen
to have an '03 Screamin' Eagle Deuce sitting in the front and I asked what
they were asking. Nice bike, btw. He tells me that it was sold and that
they sold it for 32K and some change. I was surprised after the comments
that I read online about the dealer. I figured that it's a special
edition so that was kewl, if someone wanted to pay that much for it. I
then began talking to him about purchasing a Deuce in vivid black and what
the price was. Imagine the look on my face when he quoted "23K"...HA! I
just said OK and walked out the door. I figured that all the comments
were by employees or friends of the store. That was one so called
"Dealer" who actually turned out to be a "Stealer"." - KS 09/02
"I recently quit as service manager at this dealership after working there
for only six months. The business practices of the husband of the owner
(who runs the business for her) are reprehensible. Not only are customers
being overcharged for service work, they are being sold used parts as new
and being charged for parts that were not used at all. In addition,
customers are being lied to in order to cover up mistakes made by
employees. One instance of a cover up that comes to mind involves a
customer who brought his Sportster back with a complaint about the
alignment of his front forks. Several months before I started working
there, repairs had been made on this bike after a minor accident. However,
the frame had been bent in the neck area and this damage was overlooked
during the original repairs. I discovered the bent frame during my
examination of the bike to verify the complaint by the customer. When I
told the manager mentioned above, he forbade me from telling the customer
for fear of a lawsuit due to negligence in making the proper repairs the
first time the bike was in the shop. There are numerous other examples of
unethical behavior by the top management of this dealership, but I think
you get the idea. CAVEAT EMPTOR!" - SE 12/02
"Called Heritage to see what they had because I was on the lookout for a
deuce. They were sold out for the year but they had a Night Train coming
in. The man who I believe was the owner told me he would sell it to me at
MSRP. He took my credit card over the phone to hold it and told me to come
see his salesman. Went in and did the paperwork and true to his word the
bike is at MSRP with approx $200.00 extra bucks for prep. Not a bad deal
considering that I was dealing with another shop in central Florida that
advertised at $500 below MSRP but thought he could slip the bike in at
MSRP plus approx $1000.00 in additional fees. Straight shooters all the
way and they are also giving me a discount on accessories at purchase." -

"My Buddy and I were en route through Alabama this weekend on our way to
Florida. He suffered cam bearing failure on his 99 Electra-Glide Standard.
Manager at Heritage waited two hours after closing for bike to arrive on
wrecker (with my Bud!). When wrecker still hadn't arrived left note
advising how to call him then. Put his bike in shop on Friday morning and
had it ready for trip home on Sat Night. Believe this dealership to be an
exception to the rule regarding most other dealerships lack of compassion
and interest unless you are a regular customer and then forget you after
the sale." - WR 05/04 |

"I can not comment on the sales staff or MSRP, but I definitely
can comment on the parts department. My wife's Buell Blast disposed of
it's shifter while going down the road. We could not find the shifter so
we had to go parts hunting. Gainesville was the closest dealer so that's
where we headed. They had three shifter levers in stock but did not have
the inner bushing or bolt. Once they realized the bike was stranded along
the road, they pulled a new Blast off the floor, removed the shifter
assembly, and sold it to us for $20. They even gave us an allen wrench,
free of charge, to tighten the bolt. This is how all dealers should treat
their customers. While we there, we were asked at least three times by
other workers if we needed any help. This all occurred on an extremely
busy Saturday while they were having a big charity event at the
dealership. We were so impressed with how we were being treated, we
ordered some accessories that we had planned on purchasing from our home
dealership." - BB 5/01
"Visited Gainesville H-D on May 25th. Two separate
buildings, one for sales and the other for parts and service. Was a
little shocked at first about the size of their sales area, but DON’T BE
MISLED!! What they lack in size they make up for in price, customer
service, etc. Great prices!!! In the market for a 1200 Custom
and they had two 2001’s, WITH accessories installed with an out the door
price of around 10,500. Will definitely be making my next purchase
from Gainesville." - RR 6/01
"I stopped by Gainesville H-D June 30 on my way to St. Pete.
From what I've heard this would be a good place to order a new Wide Glide.
I was given a price of $17,300 + $1000 in parts + $1000
because I was out of his area. Total was $19,300 I felt
insulted and put back the two t-shirts I was going to buy. (If I had
one already I'd burn it) I'll never stop there again." - KB 7/01
"In January of 2002 I drove just at 2100 miles round trip to purchase a
bike from Gainesville Harley Davidson and Buell in Gainesville Florida. I
found the bike searching online ads and was surprised at the price for the
condition. I purchased a 1996 FLHTCUI Shriner bike including taxes and 3
year service contract out the door for under $15,500. I couldn't even get
in the ballpark for the same bike in Dallas Texas. Everyone I dealt with
in sales, parts and the shop were great to deal with. I was even offered
10% off parts while I was there and that knowing they would never get my
business again. I actually made a mistake and picked up the wrong headset
system and had to send it back and they credited my card and sent me a
receipt promptly. A smaller type shop that was a pleasure to deal with."
- MN 02/02
"In May of 2002 I stopped at the shop (60 miles away) to see about
buying a bike, after visiting the shop closest to my home and finding they
weren't interested. The sales force was more than will to sell me a bike
and went out of their way to put me on a 2002 FXDL, at a price a couple of
thousand dollars less than my local dealer. Since then, I have found that
their service department is even better than the sales department. This
is what a motorcycle shop should be, all they are interested in is
"customer satisfaction". I will recommend them to anyone, and the 60 mile
ride is more than worth the inconvenience." - DV 11/02

"This dealership has taken extreme advantage
of my brother. He had no experience whatsoever when it came to pricing
Harleys. Went in to the dealership the several days ago during a visit with
my brother and his wife. They are selling used bikes at more than $5K over
MSRP for the equivalent new bike. I asked a salesman if he intended to
back off at least $5,000 on a used Dyna and he let me know that they will
sell at whatever price the market will bear. Can't blame him for that, but
the attitude they include with their overpricing is nearly unbearable. Lots
of show, not much go." - DD 12/01 "I use Harley Davidson Of Crystal
River for all my purchases and service. I consider their personnel, (the
owner, the parts department, the techs, and the sales people), to be
knowledgeable, friendly, and personable. Their pricing is more than
competitive and there are frequent sales on parts and labor. My only regret
is that I did not discover them until I had already purchased my 01 FXSTBI
from my local dealer located 5 miles from my home. In my opinion it is well
worth the 100 mile round trip to do business with Harley Davidson Of Crystal
River where I get treated just as well as the people who have purchased
their Harley from them." - LE 03/02 "I have been buying parts from here for over 6 months.
You can not get a
better price or service from this parts department. Thanks a lot!" - PS
04/03 "I have just placed my second parts order with Crystal River and
can't believe the good service. I especially like the fact they call back
promptly to clarify anything on the order. They also call you to confirm the
order is shipping. Two thumbs up and I will continue to order from them as
long as I continue to not wait till the last minute to need my parts!" - TL

"Here's a little about the two dealers in Jacksonville, Fl. They
are owned by the same family, the Adamecs. They advertise that they sell for MSRP PLUS all
accessories installed by them at their shop rate, which is $49.50/hr. " - J
7/99
"I recently contacted Regency about having my 10,000 mile service.
They quoted the outrageous price of $500! I contacted the dealership
in Savannah and was told it would be $300. Before being hung-up on
by the Jacksonville Stealer, I was told, if I did not have the service
done, they would void my 4 year Extended Warranty." - KC 11/99
"Bastards. At one time had a decent service department but service
manager left and went to Daytona HD. Had a luggage rack installed on a '95
FLSTC and they put it on backwards. This place deserves a neutron bomb."
- SO 1/00
"I will never purchase a bike from either Adamec's (Regency or
Orange Park) locations. Until recently, you would find a sheet listing the
base price (MSRP) then all the add-on, dress-up parts, charged at full
retail, plus labor to install said parts, then freight, prep and
inspection fees. I saw a $6300 Sportster jump to over $9000 from this
practice. How do you put $3000 worth of parts on a Sportster? Then I
started thinking - "What happens to all the original parts off the bike,
like wheels, handgrips and controls, fork sliders, foot pegs, pipes, etc.
that came on the stock bike. You pay for that stuff in the base price. It
should be given to you to do with as you please. Are they reselling these
parts or using them in the service department to repair/replace damaged
parts? When I asked a sales rep, I either got a shrug of the shoulders or
nothing at all. Also, after the V-rod came out, there was always one at
Regency (no price displayed). After a couple of months I stopped in and
asked if they were ever going to sell it. I was told that 4-5 had been
sold. I asked how much they had sold for and was told "between $28-32,000"
I know there is a thing called supply and demand, but does that warrant
charging almost twice MSRP?" - DP 07/02
"Purchased used FXLR from
local guy. Went to Regency H-D to get 5000 mile service to check overall
condition. I was promised bike would be ready in 3 to 3 1/2 hours if
brought in by 9:00am on a Saturday. Bike was not ready until the following
Monday. When I complained to Service Manager, he let me have my bike after
they serviced it at no-charge. They ate the $215.00 tab. That was first
class customer service. I will go back to them." - BH 04/03
"Most
of us locals really appreciate the attitude at Adamecs. The service
manager in particular goes above and beyond the call of duty to make sure
you are satisfied. One time I arrived with no appointment at 7 AM on
Monday morning with a leaking rocker box, I was supposed to be on my way
to N C for a week of riding. They had me fixed and on the road in 2
hours. I have had all 3 of my Harleys in for service there on various
occasions, the only time I had an issue was when I felt they should have
used new clamps instead of putting the old ones back on, and I told them I
would rather pay a few bucks for new parts than try to skimp and end up
with a less than quality job. They put on the new parts at no charge.
The parts dept is also very helpful. I have never bought a bike from
them, but they have a good selection, and every bike has a price sticker.
Bike prices seem to be fair." - TS 08/03 "We purchased a 2005 Roadking a month back. The sales staff has been
updated there. A year ago unless you drove up in a BMW or the like, you
were ignored. The parts guys are a lot better to deal with and the whole
crew from start of purchase to the end of purchase is very pleasurable.
The service department goes a little overboard with the "Image" thing. We
purchased a different seat with our bike. When it came in, I went to pick
it up. I was then informed that I had already paid to have it installed
(150.00). 2.5 hours to install a seat in the flat rate manual. I was
informed that if I installed the seat and scratched the fender that it was
my problem. If they did it it was theirs. On the day of install I had my
ride there on time and told service that I would wait the 2.5 hours.
Three and a half hours later I found my bike out back with the seat I rode
in with and a backrest that I did not order. The nice fella at the wash
rack that was getting ready to rub off the finger prints with a terry
cloth towel that looked like it arrived at the dealership in a dump truck
told me that my seal looked good. To make a long story short, the guys in
the service department jumped through hoops to get all of the parts that
were missing in the seat kit and get us done. End result...New seat and
detachable backrest installed. Bike washed and rubbed down with a nasty
abrasive towel. Looks like seat was installed by a mountain lion. Nice
guys to deal with though on a personal level. Just do not let the service
department get at your ride." - AR 07/05 |

"I traded in my Blast for a Dyna wide glide. I have had a lot of
people ask me what the experience was like trading the Blast in using the
Trade-up deal. I have to admit that it was painless and that was mainly
because of Huffman's H-D of Lakeland were GREAT! I had called some other
dealers, and when they found out that I wanted to trade a 2001 Blast they
either hiked up their prices or started to get really resistant to the
deal. Everyone at the dealership was excellent, friendly and
helpful. I even had the General Manager pop out to see how I was doing and
he offered me the option of coming inside the workshop and doing some work
there where it was air conditioned. I am VERY impressed. As far as the
deal I got on the Wide Glide, I have nothing to complain about although I
didn't buy at MSRP, I paid a little over (not much), but they had the bike
I wanted, in the color I was happy with and it was available now. Every
other dealer I spoke with was priced way higher for a floor bike or
insisted I take accessories etc. I would recommend to anyone. The ladies
doing reception, clothing and accessories were excellent, friendly and
helpful. The parts people were great too... very knowledgeable..." -

"I stopped in Lakeland HD at recommendation of a friend from that area,
It turned out to be a great place so far, I went looking for a new bike
for my SO, but she fell in love with a Used BadBoy, the bike is super
clean and the buying experience was simple, no hassles at all! on another
note, I've been having a few problems with my '01 flht, so I figured I'd
ask top have them take a look at it, they took the time with me and
treated me very well, no attitudes no problems, in fact told me of some
issue's of previous problems with my bike. I also ordered some parts from
them for our bikes and was able to pick them up the next time I rode over
there, I have NEVER had parts come in so quickly. I got to say, my
experience with them has been great, It was well worth the 100 mile ride
to go to this dealership!" - TG 04/02
"It took a long time to save the money for a brand new Fatboy, so I
managed to hit nearly every Harley shop in Central Florida during the
wait. I live in Orlando, so the hometown dealership was the first stop.
They want $3k over MSRP "for market conditions." Ah, make that the
hometown stealership. Drove over to Space Coast - they want $1k over MSRP
plus another $1500 for "out of the area adjustment." Gator H-D in
Leesburg said they sell at MSRP, but only sell on a first-come,
first-serve basis. They wouldn't even accept a $1000 cash deposit!
Stopped in Lakeland and finally found nirvana. They agreed to sell a
FLSTFi at MSRP if I would purchase $1500 in accessories. Can you imagine
actually getting something for your money, instead of simply lining the
pockets of the local stealer? What a refreshing concept. This dealer
always welcomes me like I'm one of the family. If you live anywhere in
Central Florida, the trip to Lakeland is well worth the drive." - TA 09/03
"I would recommend this dealership. They sold me the bike at MSRP plus 270
freight plus 600 dealer fee and 145 title/tag fee. It was the best price I
found in Fl. After I bought the bike they take you around the dealership
and introduce you to clothing, parts, and service. They gave me 2 shirts,
2 knives, and a Harley starter cleaning kit and my bike was full of gas.
Great people do deal with. I first went to Gainesville HD and they were
over 2000 higher and acted like it was a great deal. If your shopping I
would give Lakeland HD a try." - CB 02/05 |

"Around the first of Sept. I called and found that Gator had a Lowrider
I was looking for, due to arrive the first week of Oct. I was told I could
have it for MSRP. I was told they charge $1000.00 shipping, handling &
prep, $125.00 for title work. I was told it could be held for $500.00 and
that it would be refunded if I changed my mind for any reason. Ten minutes
later I called back and made the deal. After months of shopping around I
found these people to be the only ones willing to deal honestly. I took
delivery as promised and will always do business with them in the future.
Softtails cannot be held, FCFS only. This is truly a first class
operation." - LW 10/01
"After calling just about every dealer in Florida, I called Gator
Harley. Told them that I wanted a Dyna Super Glide with Security
package. They quoted me MSRP for the bike plus 1000 for transportation,
Setup and paperwork. They told me the bike would be in by Jan. (3 months)
No pressure, Professional Staff made you feel like you were part of the
family. Needless to say I bought there and would recommend them to anyone
else looking. Everyone else in Florida either would put you on a 1 year
waiting list or wanted to charge as much as 3K over MSRP. (Now I don't see
stupid written across my forehead) Check them out, it will be worth your
time and bank account." - JL 10/01
"Took the bike in for it's 1000 mile checkup. Made an appointment for
9:00, pulled in at 8:55 and was greeted by the service manager. He asked
for my keys and card, said the bike would be ready in 2.5 hours. In 2
hours and 25 minutes the bike was returned to me, serviced, washed and
waxed. It don't get no better than this folks. Gator Harley, great place
to buy and they really care about their customers." - JL 03/02
"I started doing serious research on my Harley purchase one year ago,
when I discovered this site, the
comments about Gator Harley were absolutely correct. I was quoted
MSRP+$1000 (setup/freight/1000 mile maintenance) for any bike on the floor
or for any 2003. I am from the Orlando area and all local dealers are
adding $3000-$4000 to MSRP (as one stealer put it "because they can").
Well worth my 80 mile drive! I picked out a brand new 2002 custom Fatboy
on the floor. Gator provided a full list of custom work done they had
done, were willing to negotiate, and gave a 15% discount on parts already
added and/or any extras I wanted to buy at sale time. The final reason I
will be driving the 80 miles round trip for service, happened when I
picked up the bike. As I was getting ready to ride away, the service
manager noticed a defect in the custom pipes (as a novice Harley owner, I
would have never noticed). He indicated when I come for my 1000 mile
service, they will completely replace the pipes!" - DD 07/02
"Bought a 2003 Dyna Wide Glide in August at MSRP. The salesman said
come down talk to him and then stay in touch and he would let me know when
the bike I was looking for came in and he would sell at MSRP plus $1000
for freight and prep (plus tax of course). That $1000 includes the 1000
mile service. I had my wife's Sporty lowered there too. Friendly staff,
they will get all of my business in the future. Very cool place, locals
hang out there just too chat on Saturday's." - DP 09/02
"I would like to recommend the folks at Gator H-D as outstanding. From
helping me purchase a year old Superglide to suggesting accessories, they
were laid back and the prices were relatively reasonable compared to big
town dealers. The bike was ready a day before it was promised and it had a
full tank of premium fuel on board. Now that is service. The dealer also
gave a 15% discount on anything purchased at that time, also." - BG 03/03
"After 6years of riding a Shadow my wife was begging for a Sportster
and she knew exactly what model and initial accessories she wanted. Twice
I went to the "local" dealer. First time the salesman kept pushing used
models. Second time another salesman pushed floor models that weren't
what she wanted and finally would only give a vague price on ordering one
saying "list plus setup and other costs." Called Gator and they said sure
that they could order exactly what my wife wanted. Gave me the price over
phone and a few minutes later faxed an invoice with everything detailed.
$700 over MSRP, which includes 1,000 mile service. Plus 15% discount on
accessories, which for my wife's bike is some real money. When we went to
pick it up the entire staff was very helpful and the final price was
exactly what I was faxed. Outstanding service and well worth the 72 miles
from Daytona." - BC 05/03
"I definitely recommend this dealer. On Saturday 01/17/04 I spoke with
my salesman on the phone at 1:00 PM. I arrived at the dealership at 3:10
PM. The entire staff was extremely pleasant and very helpful. My credit is
far from good, I picked out a couple of pre-owned bikes that caught my eye
and at 5:30 PM. I drove off on my 2002, XL1200. I had to put down a very
minimal amount of money, I purchased very affordable insurance on the
spot, and most of all I purchased the bike for well under N.A.D.A. with
out one bit of haggling. I could not ever imagine my local dealer being
this good. I can this was WELL worth the drive. Thank You Gator H-D. My
wife and I are proud Harley riders." - RM 01/04
"This is the second bike I have purchased from this dealership. They
are fair, honest and customer orientated. The local Dealer in Orlando
only has one thought on their mind, "How much money can I get this fool to
pay" Needless to say I paid 1000 over MSRP and that 1000 included the
freight, setup and 1000 service so they made about 125 over MSRP. I would
highly recommend this dealer to anyone in the state, it is will worth the
money you will save." - JL 05/04
"I purchased a used 1997 FLTCI over a year ago and found this dealership a
pleasure to deal with. My feelings were re-enforced when I was visiting
them for their grand opening. I was waiting for a Poker Run to start when
my clutch let go. The service writer said he could get it fixed right
away, about 2 hours. The job was completed and the bike was cleaned and
ready to ride in the time the stated and by the way this was a Sunday.
This is a great dealership." - JG 07/05 |

"Harley-Davidson of Melbourne sells at
just over MSRP does not require you to buy a bunch of chrome. Good
people to deal with, ask for Steve (owner) or Elaine (Salesperson)" -
CM 9/99
"I ride a 91 Heritage Softail. I did not buy at Melbourne. Too
long of a wait. Back in 95. I bought mine used. It was well taken care of
and I thought that any minor problems could be fixed at Melbourne. The
rear cylinder base gasket leak was repaired at Melbourne. Two thousand
miles later the leak returned. Replaced a broken inner primary at
Melbourne. Also the rotor while there. Had to have someone else remount
the inner. When they opened it up there was cardboard in-between the rotor
and stator. Will never go there for service. My wife tried to purchase a
small item for me for Christmas and use our debit card. She was told that
she needed to spend more to use the debit card because they get charged
too much for the transaction. Steve is as arrogant as is father was."
- R 10/99
"You can always count on them standing behind their work!
What needs to be remembered is that humans do the repair work in the
service department and therefore there is the odd occasion when the work
needs to be re-done. If you just go somewhere else and do not give
them the chance to make good on it then there really is no basis on which
to complain. I have dealt with Steve (the new owner) and his father
and have found them to be FAIR. As consumers we have a
responsibility to voice our needs and concerns to the right people and if
that means approaching the owner then so be it. I asked Steve about
the debit card comment written by R in 10/99 and yes it is true that HD of
Melbourne employees are discouraged from taking extremely low credit card
transactions but DO NOT require higher purchases...they only inquire if
there is any other form of payment available as low value transactions do
drive up costs. Seems like a situation where just communicating
better could have solved this one. Overall great dealership!"
- DC 01/00
"I talked to a guy at the
Melbourne H-D about an '01 Sportster. He quoted me almost $11,700!!
List is $7,900- almost 50% markup. He told me they change the grips
and pegs and a few other details. Sounded like about $50 worth of
changes. This also included tax ($475 on MSRP) and tag (about $100).
So figure the net markup at about $3000. If they can get that price then
more power to 'em- I think its worth the drive to Tampa to save
$2000 since I work about a month to make that much $. It looks like from
the posts here that if I drive to the Florida west coast I can find
the same bike for list + 0%. Thanks for posting this info guys and for
hosting this page. If it wasn't for this I'd have probably never found a
good price!" - TE 9/01 "Great Site! Information, if factual, is
great and an educated consumer is more likely to be a satisfied than one
who buys in the blind and has unrealistic expectations. In regards to
pricing on an '01 Sportster, we do not mark them up $3,000 as reported in
the previous comment. We sell our motorcycles at MSRP plus $500 worth of
accessories on Sportsters and $1,000 on big twins. We also have a admin
and shipping charge. What your previous commenter did not realize is that
when you add those things up on a top-of-the-line Sportster Custom (not
the base price of a black standard XL 1200 as he states) plus taxes and
tag you can get an $11.7K OUT THE DOOR PRICE. It's a shame that through
lack fully listening to our sales manager a customer had to go all the way
across the state when he has a good dealer right in his home town." -
Space Coast H-D 9/01 "The last time I went to Space Coast HD I wanted to
get the spokes on my Softtail replaced with new stainless ones. The
dealer sold me the spokes for about $100, and commented on the good deal I
was getting. When I went to pick up my bike, the total cost was over
$500. The dealer had replaced my rear brake pads, because they said they
were worn out and they would not release the bike to me with them. They
spent 2 hours labor drilling out the bolts holding the caliper on,
apparently using a standard drill bit, because they claimed they were
stripped. I had planned to change the pads myself, to save some money. I
packed the bike and headed north with my wife to Biketoberfest. About an hour later, at 80 MPH on I-95, the rear tire went
catastrophically flat. I managed to pull the bike over to the side of the
road, and ended up getting towed to a nearby motel that night, and towed
to a bike shop in Ormond beach the next morning. The tube in the rear
tire had a quarter-sized hole where the dealership had pinched it during
reinstallation of my tire. Total "cost" of getting my spokes changed by
the dealer approached $1000. When I went back to the dealer, and mentioned
that my wife and I could have been killed, their response was "We'll, you
weren't." They refused to refund any of my money, or pay for my 2 towing
bills, or my motel room. Since then, I have bought all of my parts and
accessories at any dealership _other_ than Space Coast HD. I would
recommend that this dealership be avoided at all costs." - RK 10/01
"My '01 has been in there many times, resulting in most of the repairs not
being done correctly, even after taking it back several times, They order
parts and then cannot find them, After having one of my parts for months I
was told it had the wrong customers name on it, only after me calling
constantly I found that out, (BTW that part had been ordered 5/01 replaced
9/01). One repair under warranty my bike came back damaged, then the
next day when I brought the bike back they told me it was that way when I
brought it in. They did offer to do the repair for free after a talk
with the owner. Now I have been told they would not sell me a new
bike nor do they care they lost my business. They do not want to give me
my copy of the signed repair orders and it took over three month's to get
copies of my warranty repairs only to find out they charged a part to
warranty that was never installed on my bike, I was told it had been
ordered it is now month's later and still no part, that has been charged
to Harley Davidson as replaced already. To give them credit where it is
due the bike and clothing Salesman there is friendly and glad to take time
with you." - TG 12/01
"Thanks for a great buying experience! The sales staff were excellent. I
not only got a complete rundown of my new bike but also the dealership and
staff. Feeling well acquainted with my new FLHT, with a bag full of free
goodies and a 14 mo. permanent plate, I hit the road completely satisfied.
They even gave my Lady a free t-shirt. Service is top notch and timely.
The parts dept. knowledgeable and timely. All the staff friendly, helpful
and courteous. I got the bike I wanted for a fair price. After walking out
of dealerships dissatisfied and/ or angry throughout the state these folks
were a breath of fresh air." - DB 01/02
"I just purchased a 2002 Ultra Classic from Space Coast Harley Davidson.
I did a lot of shopping around, and they came up with the best price
around. And they had the bike I wanted on hand, so I didn't have to
wait. The sales department was very knowledgeable. This is my 30th year
riding Harleys, and I can spot a sales line a mile away. There was none
of that. Just helpful, with information when I needed it. More like
dealing with a friend, than a salesman. The finance dept. was
exceptional, and she got me in and out easier than I've ever purchased a
bike! I was introduced to the people I'd be dealing with in the shop, and
they are like one big family. The service manager got my upgrades and
accessories installed immediately. The mechanics did a fine job and
explained the entire job to me. This is one shop that makes you feel like
they are there for you, instead of the other way around! After my initial
break in service, they even did a great job of detailing the bike for
free. In the future, this is the shop for me!" - CR 02/02
"Just bought an FLHT from this dealer and although I had to ride the 70
plus miles it was well worth it compared to my local dealer. I got the
bike I wanted sold in a professional manner at a beautiful site. I paid
near list without any haggling and everyone has made me feel welcome to
the family. It is worth the ride and isn't that what this thing is all
about ... the ride?" - TA 02/02
"Just got my new FXD from Space Coast in late February. Although I was a
bit disappointed in how long it took to get it after its arrival (of
course, it was right before Bike Week in Daytona) I felt that I was given
a fair deal. When I picked it up, all the accessories I ordered were
properly installed, the permanent tag was on it, and it had a full tank of
gas (too bad auto dealers can't seem to do that). The sales manager gave
me a complete rundown/intro on the bike, including break-in procedures,
etc. No pressure at any time. A pretty good overall experience. And I'm
loving my Super Glide." - RC 03/02
"I tried in vain to purchase a Harley new from Space Coast. They let me
walk with my 8 grand in my hand rather than cut me a MSRP deal on a new
sporty they had in stock! The salesman was more worried about "The empty
space he'd have in his showroom if he sold me the bike." Imagine that!
My next encounter with them came when I tried to buy a sissy bar for my
new sporty which I purchased for MSRP in at Treasure Coast H-D., The
stealer at Space Coast had the part on the wall in the correct box,
however when I opened it it was clear this was a USED part which was
previously installed, it was scratched and the screws were cross-threaded!
The stealer got pissed when I pointed this out and insulted me, as I was
leaving his new/used part was going back in the box and on the wall for
the next sucker! My opinion is this place stinks and even though the next
dealer is 70 miles away I will NEVER grace Space Coast's door again! Stay
away from this STEALER!" - GP 04/02
"Watch out for these guys, they will remove your original selling dealers
emblems without your permission and put their cheap ones on your bike, I'm
not happy at all!" - TG 06/02
"They were advertising at $500.00 below MSRP but when I asked for a quote
I was given MSRP plus approx $1000.00 in additional fees( $385.00 in admin
and $649.00 for shipping/prep). I mentioned the ad on several occasions
and was told I would get the deal. Glad I did my homework and researched
pricing. They did seem to have a decent selection, but since I was given
the run around I took my business elsewhere. Shoot straight." - TP 07/03
"I had an excellent experience buying my Electra Glide Standard here in
September of 03. I actually started looking for the bike in July, but
there were none left on the floor anywhere close. The sales manager at
Space Coast told me he had the exact bike I was looking for ( 100th
anniversary Electra Glide Standard with fuel injection and security system
) coming in September. This was the last FLHTI he had for 2003. I bought
the bike for MSRP plus shipping and dealer prep. The bike arrived when
promised, and I had no problems what-so-ever with the sales staff. I'd
recommend them to anyone looking for a new ride." - AW 11/03
"I bought a 2004 FLHRI (fuel injected Road King) from Space Coast this
past May. I called every dealer in the state of FL and found Space Coast
to be within ~$100 of the other lowest priced dealers. My bike didn't come
in for 3 mos. after I put my deposit on it. I was kept informed of the
progress of the shipment and had no problem getting someone to answer my
questions. When I went to pick up the bike the salesman was very thorough
in his inspection of the bike with me. I found no major discrepancies with
the bike. I must say that I had a very positive experience with Space
Coast Harley Davidson and would recommend them to everyone." - DS 07/04
"I recently purchased a used FLHTC from the Pineda store and wish to
comment on the overall sales & service experience I received at this
location. I researched a potential purchase through several dealerships in
Melbourne, Daytona, and Orlando in great detail for 3 months. The entire
staff at Pineda HD always provided me with knowledge, professionalism, and
a desire to earn my business. Through my travels I met several "nice
salespeople" but always felt they only wanted to do one thing. Close me
that day. They never listened to my needs nor displayed an interest in
getting me the right bike. This was not so at Pineda HD. The salesman
was new and quite a joy to work with. His patience, professionalism, and
desire to get me the the right bike at the right price ended up in a sale
for him. The Sales Manager, Riders Edge staff, and General Manager also
always took the extra time & care to help me undercover my needs. As the
owner put it, "we want to earn your continued business". Let me tell you
they have and I will tell all of my friends what a great operation this
dealership is." - KS 12/05 |

"MSRP but with a hefty accessory package required,
unless there is a trade in. Required accessory package $5000 for BTs
and $1000.00 for Sporties. Owner's son, which runs the Perrine shop, is a
real shark. Unfortunately, this far South, options on HD shops are
very limited. They've been around for a while, but could provide
better customer service and ease up on those required accessory
packages." - JV 5/01 "As an employee of this dealership I need to
comment. Peterson's does not charge $5,000.00 and $1,000.00 for accessory
packages on Big Twins or Sportsters respectively." - ID 03/02 "Have
had them fix had my scoot (99 FLSTF) twice (rocker box gaskets replacement &
rear tire) in the past 3 months. Work was top notch. They replaced my tire
late on a Saturday afternoon without an appointment since it was bald as
hell and I was 170 miles from home in Key West. They have an big selection
of 2003 HDs with all of them possessing extras. Extras add anywhere from
$600 to several thousand dollars to the MSRP and normal delivery and set up
charges; there are no hidden extra charges from what I could tell on the
price sheets. This is a huge dealership which moves lots of bike to South
and Central America, so selection is pretty good. " - SS 01/03 "After searching around for some months for a fair deal,
I finally called H-D of Miami. I Purchased and took delivery of a 2004 Dyna
Super Glide on 4-30-04. Can't say enough good about this dealer. Paid MSRP
plus factory freight plus $375 for dealer set-up and delivery, and of
course, tax. Very fair, very courteous, and they appreciated my business.
Parts department employees are knowledgeable and go out of their way to
answer your questions and help guide you to good choices. Will make every
effort to continue buying parts and service from them in the future, even
though the Fort Lauderdale dealer is just one mile from my home." - RB 05/04
"Dealer sells at MSRP + 600 freight and set up." - WH 01/05"Visited the showroom 27 Nov 05. All big twin models had
added chrome and assorted goodies ($1-2 grand worth IMHO). Price tag bottom
line numbers were MSRP + Delivery + Set-up with chrome, goodies, tax and
tags extra. I would have pulled the trigger then and there, had these bikes
not had the added goodies. Good selection & friendly people - my earlier
positive comments on this dealership still apply (see archive)." - SS 12/05 |

the best when it comes to treating customers right. He can close a deal

am sure that he will bring his "A Game" to Naples. Good hire!" - CH 03/04

is very helpful and friendly. You don't need to drive half-way through
the state to save money. I really enjoy my 04 1200 Custom and glad I'm

I get my HOG club card. Kudos to them." - DG 06/04

"In an incredible turn of events, I got a call from the
GM of the dealership today (Big George) and to make a long story short, they
basically bent over backwards and jumped through all kinds of hoops to give
me the deal I wanted. I am very happy to say that I now own a 2003 Gunmetal
RK and am very grateful that the situation turned for the better and I
hereby retract my negative review of this dealership. The wife and I have
been out burning around on our new ride all evening and it is SWEET! The
whole staff proved to us that they are solid folks who really do care about
people's feelings and image of their place. I am so blown away by the
courtesy and respect that we were shown today that I will happily patronize

"WOW! This must be one of those "BELIEVE IT OR
NOT" pages. I recently happened across this page reading some of the
comments (with both amusement and disbelief). Being a business man for
well Over the last 20 years - ANYONE could plainly see that 90+
percent Of the complaints these people have is simply because they can't
get A new Harley for MSRP; which means by-the-way - Manufactures Suggested
Retail Price.; with suggested being the main issue. I also Must add
that after doing a little research, most of the ones complaining, Are
either (a) brokers or wanna-be brokers (trying to make a fast buck On
Harley's) or (b) the same ones that's asking $5,000. To $10,000. Over NADA
retail for their old Harleys!!. I simply can't believe These people are
trying to dictate - to the Dealers, how to RUN their Business that they
surely have very HUGE investments in! Does these Same people try to tell
Wal-mart & K-mart how they should sell their Products? I also feel
wonder if these same people owned a business of Their and had millions
invested with a product as popular & in demand As Harley; -
would they give it away for ones with NO investment to Make all the
profits? Just sounds like people need to get in THE REAL WORLD I am
getting ready to purchase a new Harley and it will be from Adamec's H-D in
Orange Park. Yes, they do dress-up their bikes with A LOT of Harley chrome
& extras - but its make them look Great! And The price is MSRP.
plus an itemized list hanging right on the bike of EVERY item that's been
added. Now some of my friends has said "they Want to dress-up
the bike themselves" , I simply ask "where do you find The
TIME?". I want a new Harley to Ride and Enjoy!" - SM 2/00
"This place is a joke. Any positive comments about these guys are
probably made by the employees. But hey, don't take my word for it, ask
anyone in Jacksonville. They have quite the reputation. Just look at the
comments about Regency H-D, they own that one too." - ME 5/00
"Good selection, all bikes have marked prices, typically 2-5000
worth of extras added on, but you can find bikes at MSRP with nothing
added from time to time. Huge clothing dept, good parts dept.
I work a couple miles from this place and stop in all the time, this
summer they had an FXDX marked at MSRP, the salesman would not give me the
price out the door with tax, tag, title, and would not quote a finance
rate, unless I was "ready to take the bike today". He also
couldn't be bothered to look to see what else they had coming in. I
was the only customer in the store at the time. To be completely
fair since I'm in there a lot, he might have thought I was just a tire
kicker, truth is I was ready to buy, and I did (somewhere else). But
he could have sold me that bike that day if it hadn't been for his
arrogant attitude. Have heard mixed reviews on the service dept,
never personally used them, all my work is done at HD of St Augustine.
They do not do anything for the biker community around here, like sponsor
runs or even donate prizes for benefit raffles and the like. All the
independent shops around here do a lot more." - TS 8/01
"When I lived in Jacksonville (a few years back) this dealership was on
Roosevelt Ave in Westside, Jax. Parts people were ignorant and rude.
They also own Regency HD, which is in a "better class" area, but the
attitude was the same. Tried to charge me $10.00 for a set of
Japanese-made points, said "these are better than HD's". On another
occasion, called them for a battery for my '72 FX. They didn't even want
to hear what year or model, they just said $75.00. Needless to say, I got
a battery from Cycle Accessories for $15.00. To be blunt, I wouldn't let
them put air in my tires." - JO 10/01
"I am a companies worst customer or their best customer based on how
I'm treated. In addition, my occupation as an educator/trainer in the
business world focuses a lot on service. With that said, I had done my
research and narrowed my selection to a 2002 FXDL. I was prepared to
travel anywhere in the country to get one as long as their was no "dealer
pack" added to the MSRP. Not easy to do but I found the model I wanted,
via the internet, and called the dealer. The salesperson was friendly and
told me the price was MSRP plus destination/shipping and taxes. Normal
charges. I drove down and was greeted by the salesperson and sales mgr.
Both very friendly. They had a printout of how the bike was priced and
true to the phone call, it was all MSRP with no accessories thrown in at
all or forced to be added. I bought the bike and they went over all of the
paperwork and the bike itself in great detail. They then provided two H-D
tee shirts at no cost, a H-D video, key fobs, catalogs and a discount
coupon for my first service, all without asking. They introduced me to the
parts guys and to the Asst. Service Mgr. who did a great job of loading
the bike onto my truck and explained in detail how to unload it. Overall
one of the finest buying experiences I have ever had. Maybe it's how we
treat others that creates the environment on how we are treated - just a
thought." - EP 6/02
"Just before leaving for Biketoberfest I was riding my bike and noticed
that the check engine light was on. I didn't have time to take my bike in
to the local dealer before leaving for Daytona. The bike was running OK
and I noticed when washing it that the rear plug wire was loose. I
reattached it but the engine light kept coming on. I decided to trailer
the bike to but was concerned about the bike stalling or breaking down
while riding in Daytona. As we were driving down I called both of the
Daytona area HD dealers to see if they could check out my bike. Both
informed me it would be "first come - first served". I then called
Adamec's HD in near Jacksonville and the service manager was very
courteous and helpful. He said if I would stop by they would check out my
bike. Once I arrived the service manager had one of his techs stop what he
was doing to check out my machine. They checked it out and determined the
check engine light being on was apparently due to the loose plug wire so
they tech reset the EFI computer. When I asked how much the charges were
the reply was "no charge". I couldn't believe it. A HD dealer that on top
of stopping what they were doing to help me out wasn't going to charge me
anything. All I can say is WOW! I bought a couple shirts so the could at
least make a few bucks profit for taking the time to help me out. Oh, by
the way, the check engine light hasn't come on since." - LW 10/03

ORLANDO H-D
(3 locations)
Orlando, FL

"I visited this store looking for a new '01 Fatboy, particularly
in black. I was told by a salesman poser that they do not sell MSRP ,they
will not put your name on a list , that you pretty much have to take
whatever/whenever they get a bike in / in whatever options it happens to
come in. When asked what do you have coming in , his reply was " I
think I have a white bike in the warehouse for $18.9K , and don't know
what is coming in. " His parting comment was "good luck my
friend on your search for a black Fatboy" .I had just left another
Orlando store with two '01 Black Fatboy's, that is another story. To
summarize , this was a waste of time visiting a store the size of a two
car garage. This dealership wins the F. Clueless Award for Sales (FCAS)
for Central Florida. Or it could be they are having a bad
day/week/month/year." - GD 6/01
"Shortly having moved to FL. the battery on my 1998 Road King
died. Not knowing anyone I went to the phone book and called the
Kissimmee dealership for help. They said the would come over and tow the
bike to the shop. I thought to myself this is going to cost me a pretty
penny. They put in a new battery and in thirty minutes I was on my way
paying only for the battery. There was no charge for the
towing! Seeing how friendly this shop was I returned a week
later to have a 15,000 service on the bike. As soon as I arrived the
service manager greeted my by name and everyone in the shop said hello!
You don't find that in NY. While I waited in the showroom a
salesman approached and greeted me with "would you like some
help." The clothing manager came over and offered me coffee.
I have not been treated this friendly in any HD dealership anywhere. Not
only was this the friendliest place I've been in but the bike was tuned to
perfection. It has never run so good! I was so happy with the
work that when I arrived home I called the service manager to tell him how
well the bike ran and how happy I was with the work. I would recommend
them to anyone anytime for friendly service and excellence
workmanship." - CA 8/01
"I am from Lake Waccamaw, NC and would like to tell you about the good
service I received from Kissimmee Harley Davidson. I own a 2001 Ultra
Classic which has 1200 miles on it. I was in Florida on vacation and my
bike's headlights kept blowing fuses so I went to the nearest dealer. I
had a wiring problem. The service manager was very busy but he was very
nice. He stopped what he was doing and checked my bike. He had other
people's bikes ahead of me but he took it in anyway. I rented another
bike while he fixed mine. I appreciate the service that I got from
Kissimmee Harley Davidson. The service manager that helped me was Mike
Xavier. It is nice to know that wherever you go on a Harley that you can
get excellent service! " - ER 11/01
"On November 16, 2001 I bought a used 1992 FLHS from Orlando. I never
rode the bike before buying because I was looking for something that
needed some TLC. Also, I signed the statement "as is, no warranty".
After riding the bike, I realized it didn't shift right and I came back
the same day to ask how much to fix it. Although the parts weren't
expensive, the dealership repaired the bike at no charge to my amazement.
Needless to say, they exceeded my expectations. This is the second used
bike and two new ones purchased at Kissimmee or Orlando in the last five
years. Service has always been great with each bike. Keep up the good
work." - JB 11/01
"I walked in to Orlando H-D having shopped there in the past when it was
called Dick Farmer Harley Davidson. The place is now under new management.
I was told the soft tail Deuce I was looking for would be almost $2000
over MSRP off the truck! They did have a fair amount of stock (wonder
why). A good number of used bikes marked up over retail new price. There's
a lot of dealers in this area so I don't see any reason to let this place
empty my wallet. Definitely a $tealer!" - DB 12/01
"I went into Kissimmee HD on 2/21/02, I looked around the store several
minutes before anyone approached me, they were cold and rude, I got no
satisfaction and asked to talk to the manager Dean? no satisfaction there
either, so we left and went to the new Orlando store beautiful store with
no personality, no help and very rude, we left there also, bought no
shirts, nothing to take home, very BAD experience, WON"T BE BACK." - DW
02/02
"Orlando H-D is
a definite 'Stealer'. Interested in a used XLH they had for sale, I spoke
with the salesman about the 'total cost', and what I needed to put down to
hold it for a week. Once I was given the final numbers, I went to the bank
to get the deposit. That evening, as I was sitting in the office of the
dealership. I was given a price of over $400 of what I was told earlier.
When I asked about the extra money I was told that it was a 'standard fee'
that they added on. I asked why I wasn't given this info earlier, I was
told that "I was, I just didn't notice it". After insisting on speaking
with the manager, I was told that they that couldn't budge on the price.
I ended up buying the bike, as it was still a fair price. After one day of
riding, I noticed oil on the right side of my bike. I returned to the
dealership, and spoke with the salesman. I asked him if he would check out
my bike to see if there was anything seriously wrong, maybe help me find
out where the oil came from. His response was, "You bought it 'as is'. If
you want anyone to look at it go to the repair dept." Then he walked
away. Since then, I have called several time inquiring about parts etc. I
am always told that "They were busy. If I gave them my number, they'd call
me back" They never call back. I tried to track down the price on a part
for over a week (I had a sales managers name) he was never available, and
never returned a call. After a week of calling, I gave up and went to
Daytona H-D. The going consensus within the bikers of Orlando is that:
Orlando H-D is only interested in talking to you if you want to buy a new
bike. They will not work on anything other than 'Evo & newer' bikes. The
customer service is among the worst I've seen in any business. Too bad you
have to go up to Daytona, or any of the several "Mom&Pop" bike shops in
the area to get anything done. Don't let the fancy new dealership fool
you. All 'Style', and no 'substance'." - ER 06/02 "I just purchased
a new 2002 Deuce from this place. Only because they had the bike I wanted
in stock (so I thought). I put a deposit on a bike Thursday Night, I show
up Friday morning to pick it up, they tell me the bike I wanted was not
tilted to their shop, so I would be doing them a favor If I took a bike
from the back in a different color, but they just happened to have the
color set I wanted. So they replaced the tank and fenders from a blue
Deuce with a Red/Ice color set. I said, since I am doing you this big
favor, how about throwing in this $159.00 helmet (scratched and missing a
visor bolt, no kidding). My salesman said he couldn't make that decision
and had to ask the sales manager. They came back and offered 10% off the
helmet and would be happy to finance that with the rest of the bike. I
Took the bike, but left the helmet, after waiting 4 hours for them to
complete the color switch. Everything was fine at the beginning, when it
came to the deal, they went Wacky. Stealer!" - DP 07/02 "Bought a
'02 E-Glide Standard in October, 01 from this store. Went in Thursday, the
11th just to "check out the possibilities." Drove my new (and first)
Harley away from the store the next day, Friday the 12th. Paid MSRP. Have
been taken care of well by sales and service alike in all my dealings with
them at the time of bike purchase and numerous times afterward. Several
warranty issues have been taken care of promptly. Obviously, I am pleased
with this dealer, and recommend them." - DH 08/02 "I would not buy
a Harley from Alabama dealers, where I just moved because of the $5000
over MSRP. Last year I found a list of Harley dealers that sold MSRP,
and Orlando Harley( this is also Kissimmee H-D-) was one of them. I
recently moved to the Orlando area and was looking forward to buying a
H-D, and was surprised by the prices! They are not a MSRP dealer, we
came to what was I felt was a fair price, but when we did the paper work
they penciled in almost $1000 over the agreed price! They are Stealers!" -
DH 01/03 "Definitely a stealer. looking for Road King prices. Everything
is jacked way up. They had no "new" Road Kings, but did have three '03s
that they'd just taken from the rental department. Each had approx 10,000
miles. Price? $19,000 !! That's almost $3k over MSRP, for a bike with
10,000 miles that was a rental bike! Who knows how it was treated? Looked
at other bikes, and they are all comparatively overpriced. They have a
huge selection of bikes, so if you got the extra money to burn, you can
drive away that day. But avoid this place if you don't want to line the
pockets of a profiteering and unconscionable businessman. I wouldn't even
buy a t-shirt or hat from these folks." - RM 06/03 |
H-D OF
PENSACOLA
Pensacola, FL
|
"STEALER? YES INDEED... H-D of Pensacola is just that! Sells way over
suggested retail, as most do, Service dept. suck's and is very dishonest,
they have asked me to sign BLANK warranty forms every time warranty work
was done on my bikes. Hmmm. Within 2 weeks after the sell they wont know
your name anymore, especially if your in need of something they promised
at the time of the sale. The owner and sales manager are both CREEP'S who
should be made to ride Moped's everywhere they go. Wish the H-D Co. would
weed these kinda people out business." - MB 9/01
"Nice looking dealership but a serious attitude adjustment is needed by
the owner and his manager. It's not just me, I have listened to how they
treat some people. It is uncalled for. Money is not the gauge by which
you measure success or worth. I will drive 100 miles, and like it, to get
a quart of oil so I won't have to be bothered with them." - BK 02/02
"Took the bike in for some warranty work. No I did not buy it there. I
called a week in advance to make an appointment to drop it off and pick it
up the following week. Yes we can do the work and you can pick it up on
that date. Well they had a few people quit, in that time.( I wonder why?)
I felt like I was getting bumped to the back of the line, and it was me
that was getting the favor done to them. No good exp with the service
dept. I ended up picking the bike up and taking it to another dealer that
was like bending over backwards to make me feel like they wanted my
business. Never I am sorry sir here is 10% off or anything like that.
Over the counter sales have been ok. I am taking my biz somewhere else
from now on." - RB 04/02
"I am the proud owner of a new 2003 Fat Boy from H-D of Pensacola. I am
thoroughly impressed with the way I was treated by the "new" sales
manager, parts people and owner of this dealership!! The deal was
reasonable and the bike was ready when promised. I ordered over $2000 in
accessories and they were willing to work with me on that deal as well. I
waited only a month for my particular Harley and there are new bikes on
the floor right now. This is my fifth new Harley and this dealership was
by fair the best in customer service. I can definitely say that HD of
Pensacola is a very professional dealership! Nice going, guys!" - CN 08/02
"I bought a bike from this dealership in the past. I recently bought a
bike from a different dealer, because Pens HD did not have what I wanted.
I have taken this bike in for service and to put on parts I have not
purchased from them. They have bent over backwards to help me. I recently
developed an oil leak, I called them and it was in and out in an hour that
afternoon. As I was sitting outside the new comptroller came over and ask
if there was anything they could help me with. My this dealership has
really changed. Good people to work with." - MG 09/02
"I am the proud owner of a new 2003 Ghost Flame Red V-Rod from H-D of
Pensacola. I traded a 1998 Wide Glide and was very happy with the deal.
The sales and parts staff were very courteous and friendly. The store is
nicely decorated and it is hard to leave there without purchasing some
clothing or parts. I would recommend this dealer and its staff to anyone
who is looking for a new or used Harley. Also, H-D of Pensacola is very
friendly to lady riders." - AS 03/03
"I must admit that the attitude has changed for the better. They
still have some smug sales persons on the floor selling bikes but
hopefully that will change. The rest of the staff, especially the
younger ones have the excitement and friendliness I would expect.
The owner has certainly mellowed and is now pleasurable to talk with." -
BK 08/04
"I have
had my 2005 Electra Glide Standard for 7 months now. My experiences with
this dealer have been 100% positive from the sale all the way through
service and parts. I have dealt with all levels of the dealership from
the owner on down and have always been treated with courtesy and prompt
attention. In addition to taking care of Harley Davidson items, the dealer
also installed and is maintaining a Voyager kit that I purchased
elsewhere. Their prices have proven competitive." - DM 12/05 |

POMPANO H-D SHOP

"While traveling from 3 states away, the service writer
told me that there was absolutely no way any of their mechanics would be
able to take a look at the leaking transmission on my bike. I offered to
leave it for 3 business days, but they said that they would not even be able
to LOOK at it until the 3rd day. I found an independent shop a mile away who
fixed me up for my return trip home. So much for customer service!" - JR
10/02 "Just rented from H-D Pompano for the 2nd time. They
knocked off 33% for being a repeat renter. Bike was an '05 RK, ran perfect
and they didn't charge me for being a few extra hours late on the return.
Also told him it was about a gallon shy of full and they didn't charge me
for that. I've bought a few things from them and they are very friendly.
Can't speak to service or sales but the rental department is top notch in my
book." - BG 12/04 "1 starting problem + 2 Dealers + 1 rental + 2
ruined weekends=$224.00 Final repair $5.00 starter relay no charge/Warranty
company can not reimburse because no charge! Now out of pocket expense from
me is $224.00 But no one can see that because they keep saying they fixed
the problem no charge. I don't get it I must be missing something about the
$50.00 deductible / rental reimbursements / food/towing? That cost at the
time of purchase $1800.00 for What, just to be told that it doesn't apply."

ROSSITER'S H-D
Sarasota, FL

|
"Rossiter's Sarasota continues to amaze all in this area
at how bad they suck. They pop ya 3K over MSRP for new bikes, parts dept
that's brain dead and a service dept. that ranks with the worst I personally
have seen in 25 years of riding HD. Tried 'em again, hoping they had
changed....my bad. Reversed the spacers on my wheel, left 2 bolts (holding
the front tire on!) loose....this error coulda killed me at speed. Their
attention to detail is zero, their attitude is screw the customer but don't
get caught.....BUYER BEWARE!" - MW 8/01 "Bought my first Harley from them about a year ago. It
was a 03, 1200 Custom Sportster. Paid about $ 1,500.00 over sticker price.
No real problems with the transaction. They seem to stock a lot of Heritage
softails, a bunch of V-rods and very few Road Kings or sportsters. Maybe
they just sell them to fast. Thought about buying a FLHRCI from them but
they have not had any in stock with no prospects so I went elsewhere.
Friendly people at this dealership, they have free hot dogs and soft drinks
each Saturday with a good showing. Some bikes are at sticker price but most
are bumped up. From what I've seen if you are looking for a softail or
V-rod this would be a good place to visit. Any harder to find models will
probably cost you the Harley tax." - MM 12/03 "While I was getting my bike serviced a service person
came out to tell me that my choke knob broke I said put one on and they
said the whole cable assembly would have to be changed I told them I have an
extended warranty they said it was not good for that not happy. When jap-riders
tell me how good they get treated." - FC 01/05 |
H-D ST AUGUSTINE
St. Augustine, FL

|
"I have never tried to buy a new bike here, but
friends who have bought were very pleased. They will order for you
at MSRP, have heard that is for locals only, which includes Jacksonville.
Very limited selection of new bikes on the floor, no prices marked, small
shop but very friendly. The service dept is excellent, I have my
service work done here, make an appointment 2-3 weeks in advance unless it
is an emergency. An old time shop that is a pleasure to deal
with." - TS 8/01 "Recently purchased a 2002 XLH883 $7k out of the
door. Great experience, The Owner was very helpful and at no time did I feel
any pressure. He kept me informed of what bikes were coming in and when one
I wanted came up a small deposit secured it. This is not a flashy store and
there are not a lot of bikes on the floor, however, the buying experience
was great. When I go for the BT (inevitable) I will surely return here." -
MW 03/02 "Parts dept. was friendly, helpful and knowledgeable." -
TH 10/03 "I was a CASH buyer and went into the dealership knowing exactly
the bike I wanted. The price was clearly marked on the price tag on the
handlebar. However, I asked the sales-woman if she could break down the
"out the door price" for me so so I can see what the dealer was charging me
for freight, dealer prep etc.. She said they don't quote it that way. I
thought that was strange and of course began to become suspicious. After
that, she was paged for a phone call and she left me by stating "I'm going
to talk to someone who's ready to buy". I could not believe what I just
heard! I have been in sales for over 17 years and you always take care of
the "live" customer in front of you first. I was there for a total of 15
minutes and can honestly say this was the WORST sales experience I have ever
had. I cannot comprehend their "holier than thou attitude" when IF they
asked the right question, they would have known I was ready to buy THAT
DAY! In turn, they have lost a good customer for ever and I will be buying
my 2004 Fat Boy from another dealership 30 miles north of them where I am
being treated like a valued customer with plenty of future referrals to give
my new salesperson." - EH 04/04 |
JIM'S H-D

St Pete Beach, FL

|
"According to a well-known biker magazine, readers
have sent in letters claiming that this dealer sells bikes at or near
MSRP."
"I have 3 family members who bought from Jim's at MSRP within the
past year. We all live in Fort Myers and it was well worth the small
effort to go to St. Pete instead of buying from the local Stealership
(read the comments about FM HD... they're all correct). - BJ 4/01
"I have bought 2 bikes in the past from Jim's HD in St. Petersburg, Fl.
My first was a '99 Heritage that I traded in for a 2001 Road King. Very
nice people, knowledgeable salesman, sell at MSRP, no gimmicks! I am
getting ready to add another bike and after just check around the area and
listening to all the gimmicks you must purchase Jim's will get my business
again. Also Jim's service department is top notch!" - MC 01/02
"I am from Orlando and have easy accessibility to a few dealerships in
the area. Nothing was better than Jim’s H-D. It is true that they sell at
MSRP. Their Set/Dealer/Freight fees add up to around $700. I was quoted
$17168 for a FXDWG with security and Pearl paint (plus tax/tag/title).
This quote was right on! The sales manager is great and the ‘parts to
sales’ manager is very informative and honest. Everyone works in a NO
PRESSURE environment. They even give 10% off accessories ordered at
purchase date which no other dealer in Central Florida (or all of FL from
what I know) will do. After purchasing, I was taken through the
store/parts/service department to see what goes on. It was definitely
worth the 2 hour trip from Orlando to save more than 2-large over the
Orlando area dealers. I will return and recommend Jim’s H-D to anyone I
know!" - PT 04/02
"I have recommended their sales crew prior but their service department
really impressed me lately. Have a 2002 Road King that decided it was a
Panhead, started doing a little leak, which looked to me to be from the
primary. Was mentioning in conversation with the Service Manager that I
was about to change out the gasket myself so's I could get to Daytona cuz
it was only 4 days away. No way I figured they could get my bike in and
out on such short notice. The Service Manager then says to let him look
at it, gets out there in the hot sun and spends 20 minutes looking under
the bike....this in and of itself is remarkable for a HD Service Manager.
Then he said something didn't look right for a primary leak and to let
them have it. He promises it will be ready for Biketoberfest. I'm
thinking no way it'll be ready but what the hey. Two days later, the bike
is fixed and even washed, in plenty of time. Sure enough, the problem was
a tranny leak. Saved me the time of fixing the wrong thing, did it like
they said they would, and did it all under warranty with no attitude.
These guys remember what the word 'service' means. 5 out of 5 stars." - MW 07/02
"Purchased my 04 FLHRCI from this dealership a few weeks
ago. They sold me the bike at sticker price plus usual dealer prep. All
the published numbers at the Harley-Davidson web site were used. Bought
the bike on the Sunday before Thanksgiving and picked it up the Wed. before
Thanksgiving. These people were great to do business with. Everything was
ready when it was supposed to be. Security system was backordered but I got
a WE OWE slip and have since been called to schedule installation. I
absolutely hate going over the skyway bride on a bike but have done so to do
business with these folks. They seem to be well stocked with bikes,
equipment and clothing. I would recommend this dealership to anyone. The
salesman spent a lot of time explaining the different bikes and offered his
opinion on each model. I learned a lot about the different models and made
an informed decision because of the salesman." - MM 12/03
"Bought a street glide over the phone picked it up the next
day. Great sales staff Paid MSRP with no surprises. Their bike inventory is
available online with prices. A great buying experience for sure." - RV

TREASURE COAST H-D
Stuart, FL
|
"Motorcycles are priced at 10% over MSRP + F&P +
State & County Tax + Admin Fee Also priced by color: Black, Candies or
Pearls, 2 Tones, Custom Colors (low to high) They do not use a waiting
list but the majority of the inventory is presold. According to Mark W.,
the Sales Mgr., they will only sell what is "in the system."
They require a $1000 deposit to lock a bike up (refundable). If they are
getting ready to place an order with the factory they will take early
deposits for that Inventory Phase. Again according to Mark, he is always
willing to change models and colors as long as the factory windows to do
so exist. Aaron is the GM, not as knowable as Mark, but an excellent guy
to work with. Carla handles the Financing & Insurance stuff, has
always been very through. Joe & John in Service bend over backwards to
be helpful. And the Parts & Clothing people are also very easy to work
with. Overall a great dealership to work with. Although I am only 15
minutes from the WPB dealer. I'll go north 45 minutes every time." -
GS 1/00 "Over the past month I have visited this site frequently. To all
the whiners talking about "stealers" and rip-offs. Did someone
hold a gun to your head and make you pay for a motorcycle you didn't want?
Do you really think that Harley-Davidson owes any one of us anything? Does
Ford or Sears? I've been an HD rider since 74, I don't expect anything
from any retailer other than good customer service. If the price is too
high -- shop somewhere else. Nuf said! I have been shopping a number
of dealers in South Florida and on the West coast of the state. The one
constant that I have found, is there are no two dealers on the same page.
With few exceptions everyone is around the same money. The Miami dealers
have a good price, but force an accessory package. Also will not sell to
my county. I won't deal in Lauderdale; Daytona or New Symrna because
they're nothing but "used car salesmen." West Palm Beach HD
doesn't have a clue when it comes to customer service and the folks at the
dealership in Melbourne were standoffish. So far I'm leaning towards
Treasure Coast HD. Prices are not much more than anywhere else in the
state; there is inventory on the floor to choose from; and prices seem
negotiable to a degree. The sales staff is friendly and willing to spend
time with you and they have a cracker jack service department. Will more
than likely make my next purchase here." - MW 5/01
"Tried to buy a FLHT at this dealer and they did not have one. Space
Coast HD had the bike I wanted at the price I wanted and I went for it.
Picked it up last Saturday and got towed home Sunday. I thought it was a
bad voltage regulator but waited for instructions from my new dealer. They
suggested that since they are 72 miles from me and Treasure Coast is only
12 miles I take my bike in there for this emergency service repair. When I
went on Monday they said their service dept would handle on Tuesday. I
cleared my business schedule and when I got there at 8:30 the service
person said they couldn't get to me until Thursday or Friday. I had this
day off not Thurs and Friday. Oh well I got the bike up to Space Coast
Harley and they fixed the bike that Tuesday. I guess Treasure Coast Harley
doesn't need my service business as I sure will not be going there anytime
soon. (for all the goodies I need for my new ride either)" - TA 02/02 "After doing my homework (stealers & dealers) Treasure Coast sold me my
FLHT1 at MSRP +$250 freight and $250 setup. I got a 10% discount on
accessories after asking. They were very friendly but they made me work
for it. I saved about $1000. Thanks to everyone who submitted responses to
this site." - WH 01/05 |

"Began my look in 9/00. This dealership had several
bikes on the floor of which a Sportster I wanted real bad. Sales staff was
knowledgeable and sincere and convinced me a standard FXD was the better
choice for me. Put my name on a list and they said they had 2 coming in.
No deposit just a handshake and they called me when it arrived Halloween
day. Bought at MSRP very pleased with the experience. Felt some pressure
to fill out HD credit app to show I was serious but I didn't have to use
that financing route. Will be upgrading from there in the future." -

"Excellent dealership. They sell at MSRP and are first rate in all
respects. We just took delivery of a 2001 FLHTCUI a few weeks ago. They

been shopping for a Roadking and found one there that fit my needs. I found
the salesman and the GM to be professional and extremely helpful. I obtained
my own financing and picked the bike up the following Friday (3/1/02). I had
the seat changed and added a back rest and the work was performed as
promised. I got a great bike for a fair price and wouldn't hesitate to buy a
bike from this dealer again." - RH 03/02 "Bought a 2002 FXDL at MSRP.
I had them install some options and all was done by pickup date which was 1
week. Sales staff was very pleasant and knowledgeable. Service Dept. did a
flawless job of installing options. Bike was received in pristine condition
and I couldn't be happier so far. I will continue to use this dealership for
maintenance and purchases." - JB 04/02 "I purchased a New 2003
Fatboy, loaded with chrome off their showroom floor. I was extremely pleased
with the deal. The sales staff and operations manager are great people and I
Believe that I made a more than fair deal. I have had some mechanical
problems and the service department has worked very well with me. There is
however one problem that has went unresolved. The bike will backfire into
the carburetor from time to time causing it to stall. I think that because
this is my first Harley, they think that I don't understand the
characteristics of the big v-twin. I have been turning wrenches and riding
two wheelers for twenty five years. This is possibly a very unusual problem
and they say they cannot duplicate the fault when it has been in the shop,
but at $22,000 +, we the consumer demand the very best from the best bike
manufacturer in the world and I want it fixed (the Harley reputation is at
stake here its embarrassing, i.e., bikefest, mainstreet, stalling out in
front of hundreds), I don't want to take it back again unless someone thinks
that they have a solid solution (it wastes their time and mine). Overall
this is the best place in Florida to buy a new or used bike, but I think
that they might need to share there knowledge with other service departments
from other dealerships (or maybe the factory) and maybe come up with a
solution. This practice might help resolve other problems for other
customers across the country." - GW 11/02 |

"...one example of a Dealer who does not care for after sales
service or support. I shall describe a few of their lovely ways to treat return
business... Too busy to estimate repairs on a bike after 2 weeks. Told to take it to
another dealer... Did not want to repair a Harley part installed by another Dealer, told
to take it back where it was purchased... Service Manager Bruce slams door in face of
customers... Do not allow changing a warranty from one owner to another without the bike
being registered in Palm Beach County. (Why?)" - LF 1/99 |
