MILE HIGH H-D
Aurora, CO

"Absolutely a great dealership! Sales and support staff
extremely courteous and made me feel welcome - and that was before they
new I was going to buy a bike. I shopped around the area extensively
and some of the older name shops were point blank rude! (These other
places quoted very high prices and their sales staff actually walked away
or ignored me when I didn't pull out my check book.) Price of my new bike
(2001 Wide Glide) was very reasonable, especially for the Denver area, and
was about $2K below the price of the majority of other dealers.
Highly recommend this dealership and look forward to doing continued
business with them." - CI 4/01
"I took my sled to this dealer before to have the rocker box seals
replaced (warranty) as well as the gas tank sender. I also asked them to
replace my brake pads, due to the sickly noise and rapid wear. They called
me later, it was ready! I get there, they then tell me they didn't have
the sender and wouldn't touch the pads till they were at .040 thick or
less! Forty-thousands of an inch? Other dealers I've heard of have gladly
replaced them much thicker than that. Also, my best friend just got done
taking his in for a clutch that wouldn't stay in adjustment. On the 3rd
try, they got the stop nut on correctly, hence it now stays in adjustment!
They were trying to sell him a cable before this was discovered. He and I
have some very interesting stories about this dealer as well as "the
oldest dealer, on the south side of the Denver metro area". - MA 11/01
"I shopped at four Denver area HD dealers yesterday... Mile High HD was
a extremely helpful and knowledgeable. He took me directly to the bikes
that I was interested in. I told him I was looking for the best value in
a stock TC88 FLHRI or FLHT. Skipping over the 2003's he took me to the
garage area where the 2002 rentals were being serviced. We talked about
several of them and I saw a heck of nice inventory and he quoted very fair
prices." - KA 11/02

BOULDER H-D SHOP
Boulder, CO

"Just wanted to say that there is a new dealership in Boulder after about
twenty years without one. Stopped by on Saturday and was treated to a
free cookout provided by the store. It is a satellite retail location for
High Country H-D. It is a nice facility with a friendly staff." - JP 05/04 |
PIKES PEAK H-D

"I recently purchased a Harley from another dealer.
That was my first mistake. I am a price shopper (or was) and I purchased a
Low Rider from a dealer for about $250 less than what Pikes Peak Harley
offered. What blows my mind was the difference in customer service I
received from PPHD vs. my purchasing dealer! I should have asked
Roy, the Sales Mgr whom was helping me at the time, if he could match this
price but I didn't. regardless, the difference in price is NOTHING in
comparison to the way I get treated by pikes peak. I now take my bike in
for service, buy parts, and purchase leathers at PPHD! The OTHER
dealer has yet to contact me (or follow-up on how much I've spent my hard
earned bucks at another dealer). Another thing was, when I told Roy that I
bought my bike somewhere else, he was just happy that I brought the bike
to Pikes Peak for the Services- Awesome! Who knows, next year a Wide Glide
sure sounds tempting!!! Check this dealer out!" - SI 1/00
"Most of the the people there are nice, but for $4000.00 over MSRP,
they should be. Some of them couldn't give a damn. You can
beat their deals, but you have to decide when and what you want to ride."
- LL 1/00
"I paid over MSRP, bought a warranty, paid for my services up
front (at a 20% discount), got my financing arranged and guess what? They
spent almost 2 hours with me explaining the features and break-in
procedures! I know whom to deal with in parts, service, motorclothes, etc.
I hate paying top dollar for a treat, but think about it.. do you want a
steak from Sizzler or one from a "quality" steakhouse? My
daughter wants to go to the store and chat with the people there! she
showed no interest in Harleys until now. Makes my buying experience
satisfying." - RB 2/00
"Prices are very high on both used and new bikes. A 2002 softail standard
I was looking at with 3068 miles on it and bone stock was only $128 less
than a brand new bike of the same specs. The new bikes are consistently
MSRP + $3500. I am taking my business elsewhere." - MO 06/02
"I recently went shopping for one of the new 100th anniversary Softails,
and what I got in return was one of the best shopping experiences I have
ever had. Not only was the salesman, personal and approachable, but was
very fluent in the knowledge of the entire H-D line of motorcycles.
The other great quality I truly enjoyed was the quantity and quality of
bikes being offered at this location. Many times in the past 10 years
while shopping for a motorcycle, I was told I would have to be put on a
waiting list, and have my bike ordered from the factory. With Pikes Peak
H-D I not only had the choice of three Softail Standards in three
different colors, but there where literally over 60 bikes from every model
and color, that I felt like a kid in a candy store. I am proud to
say I am the proud new owner of a 2003 Softail Deuce, I had such a great
time, I just had to move up and get the Deuce over a Standard. So the
next time I go to purchase a new H-D, or know someone who is looking for
one, I will be returning and heading all of them to Pikes
Peak H-D." - TG 01/03
"I went into Pikes Peak HD looking to buy a new FatBoy. Their prices were
about $3500 over MSRP. They didn't want to deal with me at all, I had cash
to spend. They sales manager was very arrogant and had a take it or leave
it attitude. Needless to say I took my $20k elsewhere and was treated with
respect and got a deal that included many of the extras and such I wanted.
I would avoid this dealer at all costs, you will not be treated very
well." - RH 07/03
"I took my bike in for crash repair last fall. They did excellent work,
and even had to make some custom parts to replace pieces no longer
available. There were very careful about inspecting the new parts before
installing, as they had some trouble getting an acceptable aftermarket
handlebar. I'm very pleased with the repair work done; I would take my
bike back there in a heart beat should I ever break it again. Here's the
problem. When I dropped off the bike, I told them I wanted all the old
parts: tank, fender, seat, foot pegs, etc. All the damage was on one
side of the bike. Since I paid for a pair of everything, I wanted the
other one. I had plans for them: spares, art projects, etc. When I
picked up the bike (again, beautiful repair), I was told that they had to
hold the parts for 30 days in case the insurance company wanted them.
When I came back in 30 days, I was told they had to hold them for 90
days. When I came back in 90 days, they couldn't find the parts. I made
9 special trips to the dealership to get those parts. Each visit consumed
at least 30 minutes of my time, some as many as an hour. Each time I was
told they would look for them and call me back. The last two trips I
spoke directly to the service manager. Both times he promised me he
would investigate and call me. I have never received a call telling me
where these parts are. After all this time, I have given up. I have never
seen any of these parts that I have paid for, nor do I expect that I ever
will. I'm sure they didn't get thrown in the dumpster." - RC 09/03
"After purchasing a 2002 Softail standard from these guys, I have been
back about 100 times, thanks in part to their very knowledgeable parts
staff. Every time I come in looking for an upgrade or replacement part,
they are always right on target and always have had the part, or taken
less than a week to get it in. I would also recommend their sales staff,
not only do they still talk to me when I come in, but also go on rides
with my friends and I ever since I purchased my bike. I would highly
recommend this dealership for all your Harley riding needs." - RA 10/04
"I live in Ft. Lauderdale and had purchased a Roadglide on eBay in Crested
Butte. After making arrangements 3 weeks in advance for the 5,000 mi.
service and being assured that travelers get priority service, I figured I
was all set. I had to get from Colorado Springs to Topeka, Kansas (almost
600 miles) to maintain my tight schedule. I arrived @ 8:30 AM for their
opening of the store. My bike sat where I parked it for 2 1/2 hours! My 3
1/2 service took 6 hours. No explanation was given for the delay. No
compensation for my time was offered, oh yah, except for some plastic key
chains! Consequently I'm riding at night thru monster deer country
(something I like to avoid)! I was not happy!" - RC 09/05 |

FREEDOM H-D
Denver, CO, 80215
|
"I think people should know here in Denver that we
have one of the worse dealerships in the country. Freedom H-D is the name
only because the owner feels he has the right to screw-over not only the
people that work for him but also the people that use his shop and anyone
that disagrees with his practices. Case in point, a good friend of mine
was just fired unfairly. Like countless other good workers that where
trying to make a difference he was let go. Given the fact that I used this
shop for over 20 years and bought a $30.000.00 FLH from him. I tried
to call and talk to him several times about this. Only to find out that he
doesn't take calls from anyone that has a bitch. So I then E-mailed him a
message. Unfortunately I used my P.C. at my job to do this. He then called
the president of my co. [that bought a Harley from him] and tried get me
fired for using a co. P.C. for personal use. I hope this tells you what
kind of jerk this owner is. So save yourself the trouble and a hole hand
full of $ [$5000.00 on big twins and $3000.00 on sportys and $20 on labor
over everyone] and GO somewhere else!" - RN 7/01 "They recently changed
their pricing to come closer to MSRP. Still above where they should morally
be but you don't see bikes with $10,000 markups with a bunch of unwanted doo-
dads any more." - NG 9/01"It seems that the new, less usurious
pricing (MSRP +$1000) at Freedom H-D was only a temporary moment of sanity
on their part as it only lasted for six months. They are now back to their
old ways of gouging the customers for all they can get. Their new prices are
back up to MSRP +$3500. I did not check on whether they are loading the
accessories back on as I walked out in disgust. I went to Sun HD and bought
my bike with no dickering for MSRP +$1000 with 15% off on all accessories."
- EA 03/02 "I recently heard of a problem. I Have a good friend who is
interested in a firefighter edition Harley. He is a recently retired
volunteer firefighter who served many years protecting people. He is now
looking to buy one of the bikes that Harley has built to honor
firefighters. My concern is aimed at Freedom Harley Davidson (Denver, CO).
From reading that I have done in the past, I can recall that HD was going to
sell these bikes to firefighters only, at MSRP. After my friend checked
into getting one, Freedom informed him that they are selling the motorcycle
for about 4000 over MSRP. I know that markups for Harleys has been an
accepted practice lately, but price gouging firefighters who desire a
motorcycle made to honor them seems wrong to me, especially after the
sacrifices that were made by my friend and others like him. Is this how we
should treat the people who protect us in times of need?" - CG 08/02 "At one time, this was a premier dealership. Now, when
you walk in the door, the sales staff just looks at you and glares, just
daring you to ask them a question. The bikes are fully pimped with every
accessory in the book. The bikes are priced at 3K over retail price plus
all the accessories. Every time you go in there is a different bunch of
parts personnel and a different bunch of clothing personnel. I've talked to
former employees and they say that the owners-managers are just terrible to
work for. Almost every Harley rider in Denver knows about this dealership
and agrees." - PV02/05 "I had heard many bad things about the service
here, unfortunately when I started shopping I went with who had what in
stock. The mess-ups started right away. The finance guy put the wrong
number of years on the warranty. Then a parts guy told me I had paid for the
first dyno tune but wouldn't see it on the paperwork. After purchasing the
bike I waited for my paperwork I roamed the sales-floor and noticed the
sales manager was looking at a salesman and pointing to some customers and
started to use the "reel them in" sign. When I picked up my new bike my
handlebars were crooked and the headlight was aimed too high. A service
writer said to make an appointment to correct that. Next, a parts guy told
me the stock of Double Barrel exhaust system that I ordered were showing the
baffles through the chrome and he didn't want to put those on my bike. I
called a week later and a service writer told me that they had those pipes.
What wound up on my bike didn't look so good. Their response was that's what
they look like. Next, I had an oil leak after they changed the oil. They
couldn't find the cause. Next, I had them align the headlight to spec and
the service writer walked over to the bike and yanked on the headlight and
said it was now adjusted. Next, they installed the nostalgic
speedometer-tachometer and the backlight was so dim that I couldn't read the
numbers at night. They said it looked normal and besides that's how they
look. I complained and got the general manager to admit he thought it was
dim. The general manager offered me a deal to make me happy. The deal was
$9 off a new speedometer-tachometer plus labor. Next, after my break in I
had the bike dyno tuned. It ran great before the tune and then ran very
rough at idle. The service department said that Harley's run like that.
They tried to convince me that having the big bore kit installed makes it a
performance bike and that 95" motors run like that. The only problem with
that argument is that the big bore kit was installed 1100 miles ago and it
ran fine until the tune. The tech said that's how his truck runs." - GM

"John's H-D in Ft. Collins is the BEST! All they needed to start my
corporate account was my tax ID #, done. They go out of their way to make sure that you
get what you are looking for. They always have a large selection of Buells too. I have
tried to find the list that gives the ranking of all HD dealers in the USA but without any
luck. I do know that John's H-D is rated #6 out of about 1600! That is very
impressive." - JB 7/99
"John's H-D has been sold and is now "Thunder
Mountain H-D" I cannot surmise their services/policies as of yet.
I have not spoken with anyone who has dealt with them yet. All I know is
somebody from California (oh great, more Californicators in Colorado) bought
out John's (since '72)." - JB 1/00 "Thunder Mountain rebuilt my engine 3 times and every time
it had a fatal (all different) failure each time. The former Service manager
went out of his way several times to rectify the situation but was fired
(along with his wife! Hummm?). The new GM and owner now are claiming the
engine is out of warranty (90 days, but only 270 miles) and refuse to
correct the situation . This includes my expenses and a year and a 1/2 of
riding. Not to mention all the vacations lost, being stranded twice 200+
miles from home with a blown engine. When it blew up the last time I was
stranded 300 miles from home and they made no real effort to help get me
home. Two mechanics have been fired (does me no good) and they still are not
willing to step up to the plate. If you value the reliability of your bike,
avoid Thunder Mt." - JB 06/02 "I have been shopping at
this dealership for years, took the HD Rider's Edge training there, and have
always found their sales operation to be first class. The salesman is the
most knowledgeable, courteous and patient HD salesman I have ever met, and I
have met more than a few! This dealership generally prices their bikes more
reasonably than most Denver area dealers. However, I take my service
business to the "former T-Mtn service manager". - KA 11/02
"I purchased my 2004 Softail Standard at list. Also got 20% off on parts I
bought with the bike. 10% off parts anytime after purchase of the bike.
Salesman was helpful, friendly, and stayed after closing without rushing me.
Parts department has been very helpful and friendly. They've even saved me
money when I wanted to buy a part that I didn't need. Usually although their
prices on bikes are over list price. I got mine at list because winter is
coming and business is slow for them." - DM 11/03
"On 14-AUG-03, I took my motorcycle back to Thunder Mountain H-D (TMHD) to
have them redo an intake manifold leak job that they had botched on
10-JULY-03. On this second occasion, I watched helplessly as a technician
wrecked my bike in the shop area upon returning from a test ride. Most
everything on the right side of the bike was damaged. The general manager
told me he would do whatever it took to "make things right." He also offered
to give me some H-D leather goods and other compensation to make up for the
headaches and hassle associated with this nightmare. However, four months
later, all I have received is some replacement parts. TMHD refused to
install these parts, has not given me the $250 in labor (as the owner and
the GM promised) to pay somebody else to install them, and has reneged on
its offer of other compensation. Everyone at TMHD, but especially its owner,
has lied, been rude, hostile, uncooperative, and completely unprofessional
in regard to this matter. In short, my motorcycle has been unusable since
14-AUG-2003 because TMHD damaged my front master cylinder when they wrecked
it. I will be taking them to court." - JF 12/03 |

HIGH COUNTRY H-D
Frederick, CO
|
"High Country H-D has thee worst customer service I've ever seen.
It is so bad that several people I know ride right past them (one lives within 1/2 mile)
and go 40 miles North to John's HD in Ft. Collins. High Country H-D always acts like your
interrupting them when you go in. I had a corporate account (major PITA to obtain) there
and they couldn't even give me a simple itemized statement each month! I just got a total
bill. Yea that's professional not to mention very handy (NOT!). They do tend to ask about
$2-$3K over MSRP. They will only sell in their area and a waiting list is used. The list
however is subject to change depending on who has the most $$$." - JB
7/99
"I understand that High Country H-D is up for sale. High Country
has a real bad reputation with most people around here. There are only 2
faces there that I recognize at all. Let's hope it sells so we have a
chance at having a *real* customer oriented H-D dealer back there again.
Let's also hope that the new owners (providing it sells) do realize that
customers are the foundation of the company. And treat them like they
should be treated. I have been waiting to get the paint fixed since I
bought my bike new from Bill Johnson (High Country) and FINALLY I *might*
be getting the problem taken care of. Oh yea, I bought the bike in July of
1995!!!!" - JB 1/00
"This dealership is under new ownership, and the new owner is really
trying hard to make it a good shop. They've gone out of their way a few
times to fit me into their day's service schedule with no advance notice."
- AH 10/01
"I visited most of the H-D dealerships in Denver area. Including Fort
Collins and Colorado Springs area. I must say that the best buying
experience I had was with High Country in Fredrick, CO. Justin my sales
person was great. They treated me great and provided me with the
information I needed to purchase my Road King. Some of the other
dealerships made me feel like I was wasting their time. Not here!. I
strongly recommend that you visit this dealership. The entire staff was
made my buying experience pleasant." - RZ 07/02
"Have been using this dealer for over 3 years and have over looked minor
and sometimes not so minor problems from service. I just picked up my 99
Ultra today after waiting 2 weeks for them to do all the things that were
on the work order. Which included getting it ready for Sturgis and a trip
after. I also had them put in high output speakers, which is why they
had to get into the fairing. I noticed that my windshield was cracked in 2
places. I made the service writer aware of it and he brought out the
owner to see it. The owner said "now how did we do that" when he thought
I couldn't hear him. Then said to me we didn't do it, there is no way we
did it and we are not going to replace it on a bike with 30,000 miles. I
tried to point out that it wasn't the original windshield, it's the mid
size and that they had to replace it last year when they scratched it. I
don't know how he figures they couldn't have done it when they had the
fairing and windshield off at least twice in the last 2 weeks. I tried to
reason with him and explain that I know my bike and I wasn't trying to rip
him off for a windshield. There was no cracks listed on the check in
list. He then told me we are not going to replace it and he never wants
me to come back. In summary this guy feels if he messes up something on
your bike he can just tell you to never come back! My wife and I have
traveled all over the USA and been to at least 75 dealerships and never
been treated this way and shouldn't be treated this way from our local
dealership." - RN 07/05"When 1,389 miles away from home, I pulled
in to buy a dealership pin and happened to mention my scoot had an
intermittent 'miss' in the engine even at highway speed. I was told to
"bring it in". They installed a SERT and even came up with suggestions
concerning the 'miss' that I hadn't even thought of (and when riding by
yourself for that many miles in one sitting, you have a lot of time to
think). The SERT (Screaming Eagle Race Tuner) didn't fix the 'miss' so I
took it back the next day and they worked on it for 3 hours and didn't
charge me a dime. I have absolutely no complaints about this dealer.
Friendly people and two Techs that were actually mechanically inclined and
even seemed 'self conscious and anxious to please. My only complaint is
that the $80 per hour for service seems a little high because here in
Michigan it's $55 per hour. I met the owner too, and even he seemed to be
a nice guy, and no 'dealer damage' was done to my scoot." - RP 12/05 |

ASPEN VALLEY H-D
Glenwood Springs, CO
|
"Two months ago I had an catastrophic inner cam bearing
failure on my 99 FXDS that I purchased new elsewhere. I was doing the
repair work myself but called the shop to see if I could glean any
advice. The service mgr was very helpful in describing their
procedure...a procedure that eliminated case splitting. (Bearing pieces
everywhere) They also were helpful on several follow up calls. 4000 miles
later the bike is strong and I highly recommend them." - CM 08/02
"I was recently on a cross country trip and had an oil
leak. I stopped at the Aspen dealership and they diagnosed and
repaired a Transmission seal and charged me $200+ dollars. Forty
miles down the road I stopped for gas and it was still leaking.
Turned out to be some loose screws on the oil pan, another dealership
found it. I could not go back because there was a weather front
closing and I had to move forward. Be careful with this dealership
because you may get charged for something that is not a problem since
their diagnostics are not good. I admire them for getting me in the
shop with no appointment but they never offered any type of refund for
their misdiagnosis and for the fact that I had to have another dealership
fix the problem later in the trip. I contacted the "mother dealership" at
Grand Junction concerning the fact that the satellite dealership, Aspen
Valley, charged me $200+ to correct an oil leak and didn't fix it. Once I
did this the folks at Grand Junction worked with the Aspen Valley
dealership and they have decided to refund the $200! I was really
impressed in the way this was handled by Grand Junction and would
recommend them as one of the fair and honest dealerships to do business
with. I'm planning some vacation trips to that area and you can bet I'll
use them for rentals, purchases and anything else I need!" - DM 06/04 |
GRAND JUNCTION
Grand Junction, CO

|
"I broke down 98 miles from this dealership (Oct 25, 2001) and had to get
a tow after failing to make a roadside repair. The tow truck driver
called the Service Manager to see if he could have a mechanic stay over to
try and get me fixed that night. We actually arrived 5 minutes after
closing and after unsuccessfully trying some quick fixes they promised to
continue 1st thing in the morning. My bike was done at 10:30 AM and I was
back on the road shortly. Even though this was my 1st experience
with Grand Junction Harley I was treated as if I was their best customer
and I guarantee they will be seeing more of me even though I live 270
miles away." - DK 11/01
"I would never buy another bike form this dealership. Every time I need
my bike serviced there is a long wait because they are busy with people
traveling to one rally or another. When they do (finally) get around to
working on my bike they never have the part I need in stock (or if they do
they keep it hid incase someone traveling through might need it) so I have
to wait a week for them to order it in. Then when it gets in it takes
forever to fix it; forever equals allot of money at their shop rates.
They have no interest in helping you solve your own problems if they can't
bill for their time they can't be bothered. They charge quite a premium
over MSRP on ALL their bikes. Huge thumbs down." - GT 05/02
"Two thumbs up for the service department. While on the return leg of a
15 day road trip (August 02), my '98 FLSTC developed an electrical
problem. They diagnosed the problem correctly (shorted stator) and got me
back on the road in 3 hours. The staff was professional and kept me
informed of their progress. Couldn't ask for better service. Highly
recommended." - DS 08/02
"Stopped in on my way from Grand Canyon, on the way home to Alabama. Just
wanted to get my oil changed, and they got someone right on it. They even
washed my bike afterwards. The service manager, (who was also from
Alabama), along with everyone at the dealership, was friendly, and
helpful." - MA 08/02
"Developed an oil leak on a trip to the grand canyon, stopped at grand
junction Harley and the service manager said if I had time to wait he
would have someone look at it and diagnose the problem. I had arrived at
the dealer at 1 PM on 4th of July weekend. He finally came out about 4:30
PM and told me they had solved my problem. I would have my bike in about
an hour. I thanked him, he was great to work with and felt fortunate to
have him handling my problem. Downside was when he came to tell me the
bike was ready, the sales manager followed him outside. The sales manager
then ripped into the service manager telling him that he should not be
fixing bikes that come in off the road until he has got all the new bikes
ready to roll out the door for their customers. I felt bad for the service
manager." - BC 12/02 "recently had a concern with a dealership which is a
satellite of the Grand Junction dealership. I contacted Grand Junction
concerning this problem and I was extremely impressed with the way they
handled it. They asked for the documentation and did a review and settled
the issue in a manner which made me extremely happy. I would recommend
Grand Junction as a fair and honest dealership and even though I don't
live in the Colorado area, you can bet I'll use them for rentals,
purchases and anything else I need when visiting! You can feel comfortable
doing business with these guys as they stand behind their work!" - DM

GREELEY H-D
Greeley, CO
|
"I just got back to the Dallas area with my 2000
pearl Road King Classic that I purchased at Mining Cycle Center in
Greeley, Colorado. As I couldn't get a reasonable price anywhere
near here, I surfed the Internet for possible leads and must have called
over thirty dealerships. My most often response was that they
wouldn't sell to anyone out of their area. That was until I talked to Carl
Mining. He basically said that he didn't give damn about where I
lived -- he was there to sell motorcycles. Total price excluding
TT&L was $19,399 out the door. These folks were great!
Everyone there was exceptionally pleasant and competent. The F&I man,
Jim, walked me through the paperwork in less than thirty minutes.
Calr and Jim both helped me load and secure my new bike to the U-Haul and
I was on my way. I even got a free T-shirt. What else can I say.
I'm a very satisfied costumer!" - AB 2/00 "My opinion of Greeley H-D is very favorable. Although
their motorcycles are marked up on the show room floor, their sales staff
will wheel and deal. I got a better price than at Sun. I've been very
happy with the service department. I'm able to get in with little or no
advance appointments. The work is done competently and correctly. I've had
the bike worked on at High Country and Thunder Mountain and have not been
completely satisfied with their work . Of all three places, I vote thumbs
up for Greeley Harley Davidson." - AU 08/02 "I was warned to stay away from this dealer. I should
have listened. The first time I contacted them I asked about the part # for
an oil filter. They refused to tell me what it was. The next time I went
there I was looking to buy a used 2 year old bike. I came to an agreement
on price, but had not signed a contract or made a deposit. I then contacted
another dealer and was given a lower price on a 2004 bike then the used
one. When I contacted the Greeley HD salesman to let him know that I was
passing on the bike, he became rude. I gave Greeley HD one more chance when
I went $400 in parts. They refused to match another dealer's 10% off list
price. I finally got the hint. They didn't want my money. Most of my
friends with bikes have had bad experiences with them too." - DM 11/03 |

"I can't comment on sales but I was most pleased with the Service
Department. Five days on the road and it was time for the
2,500 mile ritual. I found Rocky Mtn. H-D to be a very nice facility
with friendly/helpful employees interested in getting me back on the road
ASAP - and the price was fair and reasonable! Thanks!" - EZ

"Rocky Mountain HD made the buying experience very pleasant. The salesmen
were great to work with and explained everything for a new person to
Harleys. I recommend them to anyone in the Denver area looking to buy a
Harley to check them out. While they may not have the lowest listed price
it does include setup and are around 1000 over list for Fat Boys which is
what I purchased. Excellent and will continue to do business with them.
I can see why they are celebrating their 25th anniversary in the Denver
area." - WM 02/04"Just went through a good experience with RMHD.
Took my RK in for fuel issues. Ended up being the fuel pressure reg.
Repair cost wasn't too bad and the bike was running good. Over the next
couple of weeks the bike began to run worse, lots of popping and erratic
idle. . Took it back in and I explained how the bike was acting and they
listened and actually wrote it down for the mechanic. The next day I got a
call from the mechanic. He said he had to apologize as during the
previous repair a gasket had been damaged causing an intake leak. He
stated it would be taken care of at no charge. No BS, no excuses, just
the straight story. Standup folks!! It's been a while since I didn't feel
like I was getting lied to when speaking with service departments. The
bike is running better than ever and I will go back to RMHD when I need
dealer service help." - RB 09/05 |
OUTPOST H-D
Pueblo, CO

"Very nice people to deal with and I drive the 80
mile round trip to get my BIG TWIN serviced there rather than PPHD in
Colospgs. They do a better job and are charging less for the same
services. Plus they really go out of there way to show appreciation
for my business. Currently they are $2500.00 over MSRP. You have to
be a local to get on their waiting list, but they will sell to anybody off
the floor." - LL 1/00
"Bought a BIKE. That's about it! that dealer has no
enthusiasm.... over MSRP and guess what? my biz heads north
for services (a nice ride up) . I live 2 miles west of Outpost!
Really frustrated........ help!" - DH 2/00
"Two thumbs down! They are seriously lacking in customer service. I
called ahead to see if they had the boots I was looking for in stock.
They did, so I drove 40 miles to pick them up. I arrived 5 minutes before
closing time (and their clock inside said the same time as my watch).
But, they were standing guard at the door and would not let me inside to
purchase the boots. Closing time is closing time - NOT 5 minutes early.
I strongly suggest you NEVER do business with them. If this is how their
customer service is, I will bring my business elsewhere!" - KH 07/02
"Stopped in the shop was treated with respect... Bought some odds and ends
salespeople were helpful.. This is just my experience." - BC 01/03
"Went in while on vacation. Needed an antenna. Said they thought they had
it in stock. When I mentioned warranty, it suddenly was not available.
Said antenna was on order and should be there the next day. Still spent
around 300.00 and they acted as though they could care less! Went back
next day 5 minutes BEFORE closing time and all was locked up. Person
inside looked at me like I was crazy. Will not be back." - KP 06/04
"I purchased my 3rd Harley from Outpost Harley Davidson 2 weeks ago and
can't say enough about the dealership. The Sales Team takes the time to
show me all the models, sit on each of them and make my decision based on
comfort and fitment, not just price and what they have in inventory. The
Service Department has been fantastic, (Best In Colorado for 4 years) They
handle all my warranty issues quickly and I always find the Parts &
Motorclothes Department stocked full of goodies for my bike. I travel 40
miles to go to this dealer instead of the one in my area. Great Job Guys
& Gals and keep it up, the word is out." - AR 02/05
"What a great dealership! I have been to over 150+ dealerships during my
travels, and this was one of the best. They have a great selection of
bikes, parts, & clothing (they could use more boots, though). This is
definitely a Sturgis MUST STOP dealer - they are right off the highway.
Russ Jr. & Nick set my wife and I up with bikes (Fat Boy & Lowrider) 2
years ago, and still give us great, friendly service with quick
turn-around times. Even though we now live in Texas, we recommend this
dealership to all of our friends & family." - BS 03/05 |

"Sun H-D offers an out the door price (+TTL) of
$18,800 for a pearl.2000 RK Classic First come, first served.
No waiting list. and will sell out of state" - AB 11/99
"I went in a got my 00 Buell M2 in June there. The people made
sure I got the exact bike I wanted and have always performed recalls and
routine service in the blink of an eye. They know me by name and always
answer my ?'s. I got my M2 out the door for $9000.00 flat, plus they threw
in a pair of the Vanson pants that I wanted (Buell had an offer at the
time). Unheard of in these parts." - FV 02/01
"Just picked up my new Fatboy march 1st. it was on time and these
guys have the best customer service around, paid about 1500.00 over
suggested price but only had to wait 2 months. They tell you what day they
are going to post the bikes that are going to come in. Then you have to be
in line on that day and its first come first serve. Pick the bike you want
they take your order with a 500.00 deposit and your set. The finance dept
was great had me approved in hours and my credit was not all that great,
10 percent down 72 months. He asked me on the phone when I wanted to come
in and pick up my bike and signed the papers in 30 minutes plus they gave
me the best rate on insurance of any place I called by a long shot. They
introduced me to everyone in the shop and gave me the run down on my bike
and I was down the road in an hour. It was a great experience and they
make you feel like a friend you have had all your life. Call ahead and
find out what day they are taking the next orders, get there about 3:00 in
the morning that day. Its worth it." - MJ 3/01
"I recently purchased a 1980 Sportster (spring 2002), and was having
trouble keeping a charge in the battery. I thought it was the charging
system, as the battery looked brand new. I went to Sun to see if they
would check it out for me. (I got a flat rear tire as I pulled into the
lot - not their fault). Although the guys in the Service Department were
very friendly and courteous, I was told that Sun doesn't work on the older
bikes (pre-EVO), and almost had to beg to get them to fix my tire. If you
have an older bike, don't take it to Sun for service... they won't do it."
- RF 09/02
"I brought my 02 Softail to Sun in May/June of 04 to repair a leak in the
top of the left fork. When I got it home, I found that the right turn
signal stalk had moved to about 60 degrees from facing forward. I loosened
the signal bracket, adjusted it to face forward and tightened it back
down. A few days later I found that the bracket had again moved to about
the same position. While inspecting the fork, I found that the right pinch
bolt had not been tightened after service. I contacted the service
department and after bringing it in, the manager had the assigned mechanic
come down to review the problem. He then took it back to the shop to
tighten it down and check all the other nuts and bolts. I think the
service department handled the problem perfectly however I think the
quality control folks need to tune up their checks, especially for the
specific service area (front forks)." - CS 12/04 |
