SUPERSTITION H-D
Apache Junction, AZ
"I called the salesman on a Friday night and was greeted with the up most respect.  I talked to a salesman on the phone was told about the bike (a two tone Softail Deluxe) I wanted at MSRP.  The salesperson then ran my credit history and quickly responded with the approval.  I then went in to see the salesperson and getting ready to see the price in writing. (Warnings from other views on this site) To my amazement it was the price I was quoted over the phone.  We then went over the payment options that I was allowed to pick and choose.  I put the down payment down on the bike and was told it will be shipped sometime in Feb.  More to follow upon getting the bike of my dreams." - TB 02/05
GRAND CANYON H-D
Bellmont, AZ, 86015
"They wanted $23,500 for a FLSTC - and they weren't kidding. Neither was I when I explained I'd pay that if they'd let me ride up their ass." - RC 10/99
CHANDLER H-D
Chandler, AZ

"Arrowhead, Chandler, and Tucson HD in Arizona are all owned by the same company which is essentially Coulter Cadillac. All three purchased in the last three years. So now they think they know everything about H-D. They also own numerous Japanese motorcycle dealerships in Arizona. They have brought with them the worst habits of car sales." - GM 02/01

"I stopped in at Chandler H-D to check on prices for a new Deuce.  I was greeted by a very friendly and knowledgeable staff but, their prices were well over MSRP.  I'm sorry but, with other dealers in the Phoenix area selling at MSRP,  I will have to take my business to them.  Too bad as I would have bought quite of few accessories along with the bike.  And they were also close to home." - PK 3/01

"They were swamped because of their open house, but I at least got attention from a sales person who took the time to find out what bike I am looking for and then discuss options.  He even walked me through their used bike selection pointing out what he though were good values.  Not sure I am going to purchase a bike from them, but at least they made me feel welcome." - PH 6/01

"By far two of the worst HD dealers in AZ. I am a two Harley owner and have dealt with most dealers in AZ and WA over 50 years. These two dealers have done more damage to my bikes than repairs. I recently tried to help a friend buy a FLHCUI and they would have made over $8000 on the deal. I advised him to take his business elsewhere. These dealers are strait from the worst greedy used car business in the country!  Please take your business where it is appreciated and not owned by a big corporation that only counts dollars and not loyal hog members." - JH 12/01

"In trying to justify asking thousands more than MSRP, the sales manager actually told me that since I live in north Phoenix and they wouldn't get my service business, they had to make it up on the sale.  The folks in Yuma won't be getting my service either but they sold me a bike at MSRP and treated me respectfully." - JW 11/05

MOTHER ROAD H-D
Kingman, AZ
"New bike prices seemed a bit high. Plenty of new and used bikes. They're a multi-brand dealer as well." - TH 06/02
GRAND CANYON H-D
Mayer, AZ

"This must be one of those "market price" dealers.  Since there the only dealer in the Flagstaff area they can charge what ever they want for bikes.  I stopped in the new Mayer shop, bike prices seemed to be $2-3k over MSRP. The parts counter and clothing sales people were very friendly and helpful." - TH 06/02

"Had a flat 7 miles West of Williams, AZ, on my way back to Riverside, CA, from the 2 Broke For Sturgis Run.  Had to wait 2 1/2 Hrs for HOG to get a tow truck from Williams and then the driver wanted to rip me off for a 135-mile tow to Kingman.  After I "convinced" him to take me the 35 miles back to Grand Canyon HD, things got a lot better, fast.  The guys in service had my bike off the truck and a new tire mounted in under an hour. The price was great, but the icing on the cake was, it was raining like hell and I didn't have my jacket, just a ratty old hoodie. The Service Manager went in the back and came out with what looked like a new HD rain suit jacket...and GAVE it to me!  That rain suit jacket got a real workout on my way back to SoCal.  Grand Canyon HD's got my business anytime in that neck o' the woods!" - GF 09/05

CHESTER'S H-D
(formerly Chosa's)
Mesa, AZ

"According to well known motorcycle publication, this dealer sells new Harleys at or near MSRP"

"Chosa's said they don't know what's coming in, said call him start of each week. He knows I want it at list, waiting for that special (sucker) to sell him before me. Would not quote price." - RY 9/99

"Sells new bikes at MSRP + a setup fee. All you need is patience, you can get a bike from either dealer in as little as a month or two." - LD 1/00

"My Brother Just Picked Up A New 2000 Dresser. List Price! Gave Excellent Trade In On Old Hog. Very Good And Nice Service Folks. He Recommends Them Highly!" - AM 3/00

"What a great place to do business.  I bought a 01 Deuce at MSRP + fees.  Was treated like a very important person all during the sale.  Later, as I came up close to the first scheduled service, the service manager said "I don't live too far away from you, so if it will help you, I'll pick it up and deliver it back to your home. "  If you live anywhere in their sales area, you need to check them out, these are some really good folks. Oh yeah, he did pick my bike up, and delivered it to me the same evening. Cool" - RG 4/01

"I was very disappointed today, specially after the positive remarks I had read on this page about Chosa's.  I have been to Chosa's a number of times and have never been approached by a sales person, which was ok because I was not really in the market for a bike.  But...today I went and for the first time I was really ready to buy a bike (Road King Classic).  There were what appeared to be three sales persons "working".  I use working loosely because they seemed to be gathered around the new receptionist area talking amongst themselves.  Not once did they notice me looking at different bikes, tags, etc.  When I left, the three of them were outside sitting on the benches smoking and shooting the breeze.  I knew that I would not be able to walk in and buy a new bike, but there were a couple of used Road Kings on the floor that I was interested in.  Was it the fact that I am a young looking 37 year-old wearing a ball cap and shorts?" - PH 6/01

"I called Chosa's.  Their deal was the best, but they never let me know when a V-Rod would be available.  I was ready with money in hand and called them 3 times.  I also emailed them.  No response." - WJ 01/03

"I shopped around for a 2002 Heritage trying to buy one for MSRP.  They claimed to sell it for MSRP but when the paperwork was prepared they tacked on a $1200 prep and setup fee.  In Phoenix,  Only Buddy Stubbs will sell for MSRP  and not tack on hidden charges.  At least those that gouge by selling above MSRP are upfront about it." - GL 06/03

"I tried on two different occasions to buy a bike from Chosa's in Mesa and both times I was treated like they were doing me a favor my selling me one of their overpriced bikes . They have a good parts dept. ,don't know about their service--do my own, but the sales staff need a lesson in manners. I will not go back a third time, plenty of dealers who are not in love with themselves or their inventory!" - RB 12/03

"The salesman gave me a quote at MSRP on an FLHRCI.  I added a few items and he worked up the total price.  When I went to sign the deal, it was actually about $200 less!  Well worth the 150 mile drive.  This was in Aug. of 2003." - MB 03/05

"Chosa's was sold in July '05. The new dealership is called Chester's H-D and has no association with the former dealer, Chosa's." - 10/05

ARROWHEAD H-D
Peoria, AZ

"Glendale h-d no stock till Dec." - RY 9/99

"They have good service and gave me insight about year 2000 bikes and timing without charging me for the talk. I was going to order another bike from them and noted that I was going to get on a list at ARIZONA HARLEY (aka Buddy Stubbs) with a $2000 deposit and get the bike at MSRP. The salesman told me they have a list too and I can bring the $2000 down  - as they just happened to have a new softail due in one month! WAHOO!! or so I thought. I went there with my $2000 and began filling out paperwork... WHOA!!! I noticed the bottom line had a price of $16,999. The salesman then said.. Ooh, there are 'some' dealers that sell at MSRP (about $13k) but we are not one of them. I was slightly pissed because there was a line at BUDDY STUBBS harley that started at 5am and I was not able to get my bike at all. Someone must pay!" - K 5/00

"I bought a 2001 FLHTCUI at Glendale H-D in Sep of 2001 and received great service.  The salesman took me to all the departments and introduced me to the counter rep at each section.  I got my HD below MSRP because it was last year's  model.  Now when I go back for whatever reason even to browse. I am greeted with a hello from several people most by name. I have also found their shop rates to be lower than most in the Phoenix area and the service to be top rate." - DS 02/02

"I called Arrowhead H-D looking for a Buell M2. The sales drone said he had one which I could have "Out the door" for about $7,200. I told him I would be down for a serious look. I went to draw up some official paperwork on that $7,200 Buell after work. Remember, on the phone the sales drone said "Out the door, about $7,200" and when I got there the price was $9,300 and change. He just wanted to get me in there and figured that I wouldn't be offended by his tactics, or mind paying $2,000 more than he quoted me on the phone. He was wrong. I reminded him that he said "$7,200 out the door" on the phone and he went back to his boss to see about lowering the price. He came back without budging one dollar and said that $9,300 was the price. I thanked him and walked out. Then I realized they were REALLY trying to screw me. I specifically remember the sales tax being exactly $633 on the paperwork. If you do the math on a bike that costs $6,999, which is what the base price was, the final number would be $573 at 8.2%. They were going to screw me on the sales tax! They wanted about $700 for freight, $600 for setup and $450 for tags." - SC 04/02

"Tried to buy a bike there last summer. Was treated like I was buying a used car. Now I've come to find out I was. Its owned by a car dealership, I don't know which one. Prices too high. I went to Buddy Stubbs HD in Phoenix and they set me up right. Gave me MSRP up front, no hassles, great sales and service, in Phoenix, don't go anywhere else." - ML 02/03

BUDDY STUBBS H-D
Phoenix, AZ
"Sells new bikes at MSRP + a setup fee. All you need is patience, you can get a bike from either dealer in as little as a month or two." - LD 1/00

"I started looking for a new 98 Fatboy in 1997. I checked with all of the Phx. area stores and also in Tucson. I even called Barnett's in Texas for a price.  At that time the only two dealers who would sell me a bike at MSRP were Tucson HD and Arizona HD, everyone else wanted from $1,000 to $4,000 above MSRP. Both Tucson and Arizona had a waiting list and required a $2,000 deposit. I chose to go with Arizona HD (Buddy Stubbs) and waited nine months for my Fatboy to come in. It actually arrived a little earlier and I was riding out the door for just over $17,200. All it takes is a little patience. Don't get ripped off by all of these greedy money hungry dealers, shop around for a dealer who still cares about the average biker." - TC 02/01

"July 31, 2001 I went to Buddy Stubbs Arizona H-D largely on the advice from previous posts.  It was the first time I've heard of "Dealers & Stealers."  I thought is was common practice for all HD dealers to jack up the price 30 or 40% over MSRP.  That is what kept me from buying a new Sporty for years.  Then I discovered Buddy Stubbs is not a stealer but goes out of their way to treat the customer right.  They gave me a great deal on a 2001 XL1200S and even picked me up from my house (25 mile trip) so I could ride my new bike home.  You may have to wait to get your bike but you will not pay more than one cent over MSRP.  Boycott the money grubbing greedy stealers!  Buy your bike from Buddy Stubbs." - MT 8/01

"I bought a V-Rod bike from AZ/Buddy Stubbs.  Delivery, service and price were right.  I go out of my way to go back there.  Before I bought, I called Chosa's.  Their deal was the best, but they never let me know when a V-Rod would be available.  I was ready with money in hand and called them 3 times.  I also emailed them.  No response." - WJ 01/03

"I went to Buddy Stubbs HD in Phoenix and they set me up right. Gave me MSRP up front, no hassles, great sales and service, in Phoenix, don't go anywhere else." - ML 02/03

"I was en route from Oregon to Arizona and looking for a specialized FLHRI or FLHTCI.  After reading positive comments here, I contacted them via email and asked for a price on the FLHRI.  He replied that he didn't publish those prices, and told me to call him.  I called and told him I wasn't sure whether I wanted the FLHRI or the FLHTCI model, so I wanted a quote for both.  He told me (and I wrote down) $16,500 for the FLHRI and $17,000 for the FLHTCI.  I again asked him if that was the "no bs, out the door price."  He replied that it was, noting that my email had asked for such an out-the door price, so that is what he was giving me.  I told him that was a great price and matched what I already had from an Oregon dealership that was less convenient for me to buy from.  He said he'd need a $1500 deposit, with $500 in cash, and that was the only problem he foresaw.  I told him I'd come see him in person and put it in his hand in a week or so when I got to Arizona.  I drove 200 plus miles from to see the "VP" of the company.  Once I told him my name, he recognized the issues and asked me if I had made up my mind which of the 2 bikes I wanted.  I told him the FLHTCI for $17,000.  Then his memory completely failed.  He told me he couldn't have given me that price, as it was way too low, that the bike would cost him more than that, and that didn't even include freight and setup.  He then said he was sorry and quickly changed the subject and asked if I'd seen his great big brand new building going in up the street.  He didn't seem concerned at all when I told him I'd just driven 200 plus miles just to see him and order a bike... all for nothing.  I've now ordered the bike from the Oregon dealer." - BS 10/04

GRAND CANYON H-D
Prescott, AZ

HACIENDA H-D
Scottsdale, AZ
"2000 Heritage at Hacienda h-d,  these guys are nuts $26, 500.00" - RY 9/99

"Hacienda HD is most likely the worst fectulating STEALER I have ever personally had a chance to witness first hand.  They currently have a 00 Duece for $27,995, which is $12,000 over MSRP!!  They have never sold a bike at MSRP, their prices are usually a minimum of $4000 over MSRP and their the sky's the limit. They offer NO discounts for HOG members, NO discounts for repeat customers, and I am aware of at least one case where Hacienda sold a bike at well over list and they when the owner brought it back a year later to trade up Hacienda offered him the Kelly Blue Book price for his bike, which was less than half of what he paid!  These people have no honor, morals, or business ethics, they are only in business to STEAL money from their customers.  They are the worst case of a Harley Dealership putting their enormous profits before their loyal customers.   Personally, if they were the only dealership within 500 miles that had a gasket I needed I'd make it out of a grocery sack and ride the 500 miles before I'd give them my money. They should be avoided." - LD 1/00

"Lots of brand-new bikes on the floor, but they charge a serious premium for that luxury. Consider a 2000 FXST Softail standard for over $18K not including TTL (lists for $12.3K). The very-personable salesman explained that they buy many of their new bikes from brokers who go out and buy up bikes from other dealers. Apparently, H-D limits the number of bikes a dealer gets, so they go out and suck up more from other dealers - not entirely their fault, as these 'brokers' are the ones suck up the bikes at list from decent dealers, and turning them around to extract a mint from rich people willing to pay $4000+ for a new bike.  While I appreciate that salesman's candor, I think it's a sleazy way to do business, and couldn't help but submit these comments." - FA 1/00

"The instructions for posting here indicated that I should refrain from using vulgar language when posting.  Hacienda Harley-Davidson. .hmm. kinda vulgar when placed together, those three words.  Add the name of the city, SNOTTSDALE, and the vulgarity increases astronomically.  This shop is truly a boutique for the Yuppie Posers in Snottsdale.  I wouldn't buy a damn thing from this place!!!  I'm sorry if I have offended with all the vulgarity, but the truth hurts, and it can be very vulgar." - PB 3/01

"My overall impression of this dealership is quite negative.   The service department was openly hostile, and with the exception of one salesman who was outstanding, the best you get anywhere in the dealership  is grudging tolerance.  They are extremely high priced. They would rather squeeze every last nickel out of a transaction than create a loyal customer.  They do have a lot of bikes to show, and a beautiful dealership, and they must have folks that are willing to pay 10k over MSRP to finance it all.  You don't have to be one of them." - CP 8/01

"Bad news here: I was looking at a new bike and asked the salesman if I could buy it for the listed price with the normal adds.  He said yes, I again asked if he was positive because I didn't want to play games. "The listed price is the price you pay" after getting me in the cubicle, they tried to bump me $2500 because my bike was "marked wrong" I bought somewhere else." - DA 06/03

"Awful, I found a Buell I wanted for a so-so price. The salesman said it would take a couple of days to prep. I asked if a personal check was ok, he said sure. They had ample time to clear check before delivery. I got home and a voice mail was waiting, call us back. Ok, now they needed a cashier\'s check, fair enough. I drive all the way back with it. Now they can't find my personal check. I had to cancel it, they would not credit me for the fee. Delivery in two days, go in two days later, no one knows anything, the salesman is off for two more days! call back two days later, salesman says, sorry tomorrow it will be ready. Still not ready, salesman tells me about all his personal problems. I go down there and raise heck. Salesman says bike is ready to go with full gas tank. I wait over an hour for the temporary tag because salesman was busy with potential customers. Just left me hanging. Finally get finished, ride about a mile and run out of gas! Ugh! Thank god for reserve!  I wouldn't buy a road king from them for a dollar! called manager to complain, put on hold, then got "disconnected" This was three years ago and I am still ticked. Thanks for this forum." - DC 07/05
SIERRA VISTA H-D
Sierra Vista, AZ
"I was browsing for a Springer Softail, I stopped in Sierra Vista H/D and looked at a 2002, the salesman told me that some guy traded it in to buy a Road King. It looked like it had been ridden hard and had some miles on it. Well I left there and went to Tucson H-D, not knowing they are owned by same people. I looked for a Springer Softail in Tucson, but they didn't have any. I told the salesman I was just at Sierra Vista H-D and looked at a 2002. These were exact words from him " Was it a purple Bike?", I said yes.
Then he told me " That was from our rental stock and we couldn't sell it down here, in fact all of their used bikes are our rental stock, that's half the reason they opened the Sierra Vista store, to unload them somewhere else". When I  was looking at used bikes on Sierra Vistas grand opening I was told that some guy traded in 5 bikes. Only this is not true, they are rental stock from Tucson. Needless to say I live in S/V but willing to travel to Denver to not do business with crooks and liars." - MS 10/03
H-D OF TUCSON
Tucson, AZ
"I sent an e-mail to H-D of Tucson saying: "I want a all red 2000 heritage. Have cash, e-mail time and price, can buy in New York at list."  There reply was, "Sorry, we do not sell at list.  Sounds like New York's the way to go!" - RY 10/99

"In the last six months, Tucson HD has lost all their decent employees. After doing over $5,000 worth of business with them last year I won't step foot on the property. I have had to have all work done by them, redone. This includes over $800 to fix sheared head bolts, snapped exhaust bolts and leaking base gaskets (they pulled the jugs and didn't replace the gaskets)." - NB 1/00

"I vacation in Tucson 5 mo's a year. While in Tucson I have my 1999 FLHT Standard serviced by Tucson Harley Davidson. I feel that I have always been treated fairly by the service department. Recently I took it in for a noise in the front cylinder, the service manager told me that he wasn't going to play with it and put in a new cam bearing kit (covered by warranty). If you recall HDI would not do that unless it failed first. They did not hesitate to replace it-even though the bike was running good but with this noise. I also was looking at possibly buying a new FLHTC and was told they would sell me one at MSRP. But I will wait until I  get back to Michigan and get it there in the spring. I have been on the list since 1999.  One last comment -- get the extended warranty-for as many years as you can afford -- well worth the money!" - MS 02/02

"I have had my bike serviced at Tucson HD for the past 5 years.  I have had several mechanical problems caused by them which they would not rectify or even address.  My latest episode was when I brought my bike in for the 25,000 service and to have about $500 dollars in chrome put on.  The bike ran terrible when I picked it up but I was having performance work done by a local shop with a Dyno so I did not complain.  I rode the bike directly to the local shop.  They found that my primary was loose and almost out of fluid, the tires were low as well.  I checked my oil and it had not been changed. I went back and politely told them that I thought they had made a mistake and done the cosmetics but not the mechanics, they basically told me to pound sand.  I never got to speak with the mechanic, who I was told was so infuriated by my claim that he took off early. I spent about $7,000 there in the past few years.  I won't spend a dime there now.  They could have checked my oil and seen that it was filthy and hadn't been changed, they didn't even ask. I'll get my work done at Performance HD or ride the 100 miles to Chosa's in Mesa." - JJ 06/02

"Trying to buy a Road King there was worse than the worst car buying experience I've ever had.  The salesmen treated me like I was a rube who couldn't figure out what MSRP was.  Their "document" fee was $299, and their "dealer prep" was $1200.  Their excuse for charging more than $2000 more than the exact same bike at El Cajon HD, was that they were doing their new bike buyers a favor buy keeping used bike prices artificially high.  Then they tried to sell me a used Road King!" - DH 02/03

"I had a serious problem with pinging in my new Harley/Buell motor 1200 Sportster Tucson H-D installed. (Upgrade) Those guys worked their butts off and after four tries with their best mechanics, they got rid of the ping and the bike runs great. The service department folks were polite and helpful. The management was helpful. (New management) In 106-107 degrees, I took the bike for a test. Got it hot and no ping. I use 76 Union, Chevron, or Exxon 91-92 fuel. Works great.  The 1200 Sportster runs great, no leaks, and plenty of power. With the oil cooler installed I can run all day Thanks to Tucson." - SW 06/03

"So sorry they have to add 12% on list prices on their parts and accessories, then big deal if they give you a Hog Member discount!" - BW 11/04
TERRITORIAL H-D
(Formerly JIM'S H-D)
Yuma, AZ

"Yuma H-D 2000 stock Heritage , no extended warranty, 1 color $21.471.86 out the door." - RY 9/99

"The quote from your site of our out the door price on a 2000 heritage one color is 18,764 please correct it to reflect Jim's actual price, Jim has been in been in business since 1966 and is more than fair." - Jim's H-D 10/99

"Yes the price of $18,764 is what the total cost of a 2000 Heritage is here. Got it straight from Jim's mouth.  His Chief Mechanic has been with Jim since he was knee-high to a scorpion, about 30 year experience there." - WP 11/99

"Best kept secret in the southwest !!  Just picked up a 01 heritage at a MSRP after a nine month wait.  The owners were great. Approximately $3,500 cheaper than any other dealer in Arizona for the same equipment and warrantee." - SR 02/01

"Recently we purchased a 2002 FLTH from these folks. I would recommend them to anyone, thinking about buying a Harley Davidson. We ordered our bike and it arrived on the day they said it would be there. We were late picking it up by several weeks and they held it for us with no complaint. Overall net price was better then any dealer in Arizona. We did not have to sit around a be "Put on a list" waiting for a bike to show up. The service dept was great.  It was such a pleasure dealing with them. Harley Davidson should use Jim's in Yuma  as an example of how there dealers should perform throughout the country." - FP 06/02

"I took delivery on my FXD just a few days ago and am on my way to getting her broke in.  The gang at Jim's was great.  Before I took delivery I went to the local dealer in Tucson and they tried to sell me a bike and said they would match Jim's price.  I told them they couldn't match the service or the courtesy. I wanted saddlebags that Jim's didn't carry, but they ordered them for me and I paid the same price as if I ordered them instead of Jim's ordering them.  It is this little bit of extra service that makes the drive from Tucson to Yuma worthwhile.  These people really care about the customer and make you feel like part of the Harley family instead of like you just gave your money to a big car dealership, which Tucson HD is owned by. Harley Davidson should make all their dealerships treat customers like the owner and the gang at Jim's does.  I am a lifelong Jim's customer now, and Tucson HD almost made me give up my dream of a Harley by the way I was treated.  It was so bad I considered buying a BMW." - VD 05/03

"As they are reasonably close to me, I emailed them for a quote last month on an FLHRI.  The salesman sent me an email that the model I wanted was $18,405 before tax/license.  I asked him if there was some mistake, as I had already received quotes of $16,500 and $16,950...and even $17540 for a CA version with the smog on it.  He replied "...The difference in price are individual dealerships selling for less than MSRP..."  So much for low prices here. I went elsewhere." - BS 10/04

"Jim's is no more.  It has a new owner.  They moved from Ave B to Pacific Ave, and they will be moving again shortly.  The name has changed with the new owner from Jim's Harley Davidson to Bobby's Territorial H-D. The new owner is the former head mechanic for the shop." - BL 05/05

"Buying from Bobby's Territorial was a very pleasant experience and I recommend checking them out before you make a purchase.  I got a fair and reasonable price, my salesman was extremely professional and responsive, and the bike was spit-shined when I arrive to pick it up.  It was definitely worth the drive from Phoenix, and was a refreshing change from the dealers in the Valley." - JW 11/05
